Lol
Just like all American trucks are garbage, right?
noname?
eyes roll into the back of my head and fall out
Can someone deliver 80t of popcorn please?
Lmfao

Better flex that truck when it's pulling my popcorn
that truck flexes when its pulling nothing
Lmaoooo
Also i need to be pulling a trailer tomorrow, i hate it already
The gravel rally begins
They need over a 1000 cubic meters
Nice socks

Look at that pose
Im sexy and i know it ๐
๐ฎ
where are the flipflops?
In the Moto Services making the showers messy
What happened to it? @thick cedar
I riggidy riggidy rekt it
Oof
Looks nice. The only thing disturbing me is the bullbar
Ouch
Well atleast the bullbar did it's job though
That's why it's there to protect the beauty of it lol
Also please add a other front mirror thingy
What did you hit?
Or people just catch them on things in tight spots cos it adds an extra length to your vehicle...
"Koleka magician"
@bright zealot ran into the back of a flatbed semi
Whoops
Yeah but its really not much or noticable
oof
Dang, that's rotten luck
Did the tranny make a bunch of god awful noise or did a warning light just come on without symptoms?
I parked it on Sunday, came back Tuesday, and suddenly I had a fault out of nowhere.
Finally get to meet my recruiter tomorrow, and start testing Friday for the state examiner, I will do the final exam near the end of May
Beware the lies of the recruiters ๐คฃ
Congrats Fallen
That's strange @thick cedar
I turned the truck on again and the code was gone
Could it just be a semi faulty sensor?
Faulty driver for sure
Jkjkjk
๐
Ugh, I have to renew my DOT medical card next month
Well, methinks it's in the wiring harness.
Dispatch sent me this message. I just found it. Pissing myself laughing.
I want to be a trucker so badly
It doesn't seem like a very interesting job to be honest
It is
I had to load half of it somewhere. Then the other half somewhere else. And they're all different sized
It is bambi here, the primary koleka ๐

Advantages of a box, you can't see dodgy loads from the outside
I've seen worse
Like wooden beams being strapped vertically to the back of the rest the load
And at a bit of an angle, making them catch wind really easily
Niiice...
Makes you nervous sitting behind that on the motorway
Or driving it....
Tbh, i think he thought that was fine
If it has a truck in the background it belongs here lol
And also did somebody smash your mirror? Dang
@cosmic condor Do you have an outside picture of your truck?
Would be nice to see the Volvo from the outside
Not on this phone
Its the schools volvo
๐ค
This is called the specially designed wood shovel, not the ladle you saw in normal life. @tribal forum
jcb wheel loaders
ugh
bad
really bad
I've driven Lundberg 6200LSE, Volvo l60g l60f l110e l220g l45g, Wille 655c 455b, Jcb 409 new model and Jcb 419k
jcb's were the worst of them
and lundberg
@brazen ridge What?...
How to I get my trucking license in uk do I need a car license?
Of course
would be a little silly not to have a car license before getting a trucking one :p
What on earth is that cab modification?
Not just silly but downright dangerous lol
@paper bear it's the longline conversion
Probably is to create a small extra safe workspace or something
Aye unless Scott is Swedish he certainly did not see that truck on the highway.
And Bambi is gonna pull a "Final Destination" I see
are you sure that is sweden? looks like a dutch diversion sign there
I don't want to talk about what happened with that load.... ๐ but I got it there... After a bit of drama
did it "shift"?
You could say that... Let's just say that's the scariest moment of my career. ๐
Or well yeah Nukes might be, I dunno but I know enough that it's not in Murica at least ๐คท
And i think that benz dealer is Van Maas
I saw it in a Swedish group earlier with yet another one claiming he "saw it on the highway" so that's why I thought so
But yeah as far as I know that truck has a cap like that because it has some measuring equipment or something under it
Might be a scanner to see the quality of the road surface
maybe its a really effective sun visor
So I've had this question for a while, I've seen a few trucks drive past me throughout my life and I've heard a message about a "warning - something" from outside their cab, what's the actual warning supposed to be? It's pretty loud, you can hear it with their windows and doors shut
๐ค
overspeed maybe?
@candid solstice could you give a few more details on the situation? where were they driving, approx what speed, etc
The one that I saw earlier today was an Antos rigid, low speed driving
He actually went by twice and heard it both times
Audible enough to hear "warning" but not the full thing
hmm, i don't know. never had something like it myself
do you happen to know what brand it was?
The company?
no, the truck
ohh, duh
It was a rigid so it can't have been an Actros
Is it really that loud? o_o
https://discordapp.com/channels/307433337126125568/323725520439083011/576436795336818698 ? there are plenty of Actros Rigids
attention assist maybe
Really? I thought Actros did not come in rigid forms
might've been the truck thinking the driver was falling asleep (or had a fault in the system) and gave the audible warning
No, it's some 3rd party stuff
There I've never ever ever heard of any trucks having something saying "warning" usually it's just buzzers going off if you have something wrong like too little air in it or something
My thought on it might be that they had the lift down, ergo it said warning to actually warn people walking by of it ๐คท

A modifed version of our standard left turn warning system that incorperates Left Turn Warning, Reverse Warning and in cab reminder message. Function: The sy...
It could also be something similar to the one inside the cab this guy has
Informing the drivers to check the mirrors when turning
It was definitely inside the cab and not outside, but it was really loud
Hmm yeah never heard of any brand having anything saying "Warning" and I've driven every brand except Renault IRL so I think it might have been mounted by the companies you hear it in
It's usually in the cities right, delivering to stores etc?
Yeah, it was a rigid box truck with a rear axle that lifts
Can't remember what the name of the company was now
Yeah I'd suspect that it's due to the fact that it deliveries to stores etc and often are in cities etc where people are around it and so on and therefore the company have mounted some sort of warning thingy in the truck asking the driver to check blindspots or something each time he moves I dunno ๐คท
or maybe something to warn pedestrians to stay out of blind spots?
since it's loud enough to be heard on the outside
3rd party makes sense. i thought it might've been something for merc since i haven't driven those
sounds like some safety feature, sure as hell wouldnt have that on for long
tco?
oh overspeeds
yeah, our tachos arent audible warnings
ive had a few... ๐
yeah, when your tacho goes in for its calibration
they can change how long it takes to get an overspeed
minimum 10 seconds, maximum 1 minute
before you get it
yeah, i can let mine run over for a good bit, then it gives me a warning when im like 5-10 seconds away from getting one
i think it was thursday, i wasnty really paying attention, look down and im doing 105, managed to get it back down without even getting a warning
Aye the overspeed warnings, my truck got plugged into a Scania workshop once to check the error codes it had gotten to try and figure out what was wrong with it. He saw like a long list of error codes of the same sort and clicked on what to check more info on it and it said "Overspeed" xD
xD
Nah not here
within 30 days of you getting one
Here they gotta bust you actually committing the offence they can't be like "uh a computer told us you did this"
yeah, i remember something about them being pretty pointless
or you need 3 on the same day
either way, no need to pay too much attention on them
Nah I've never done
Letting it roll down hills is called "eco driving" saving fuel and the environment so they shouldn't complain about it ๐คท
but sir, slowing down for a 30 zone is wasting fuel, saving fuel and the environment by not slowing down.
goes 80 through 30 zone
thats why i go 140 if im alone in car on 80 road trough the fields
faster is better for co2 right?
Now i understand the backproblems! @formal minnow
the road goes between the fields
lmaooooooo
That happened in Louisiana. ๐
oof
Yikes, that had to have hurt.
dont worry itll buff out
when was the last post about REAL LIFE Trucking actually done in here as i cant seem to find it
smh
Kkontent
destroyed

And what exactly are you on about?
I did yes.
Yeah so quoting that went well for ya.
dont be too quick to judge
i know its a surprise that noxii drove a nice lorry once upon a time....
its only because so many people put random pictures of trucks, its rare to see someone post a pic of a truck that they actually drive lol
Think I've only posted pictures of truck I've driven or drive in here ๐ค
yeah, a few of us actually use this channel as intended
Except Moho

Seeing a lot of random talk here that would be better suited for #general. Also, if no one has anything to say that is related to this channel, then nothing needs to be said at all.
And you just added to it. It's not like the conversation was continuing. It ended an hour ago.
Leave us to it moh. Since we're the only ones that use it, it's not getting used for anything else.
That's because as a moderator I have to actually say that, you don't need to take it into your own hands.
Even if only a select few people use it, otherwise it leads to backseat moderation where people who think they know the rules, don't actually know them at all and say the wrong information
Stuck again?
That is an absolutely beautiful paint skin

CDL Test date set: May 30, 2019 at 10:30 AM. I can't wait
Good luck
You got this
Well, that's weird, i guess

and now in english
oups sorry , edited
lol
even i knew that, and i'm pretty sure jolli uses them daily so idk why he didnt recognise them
nah, jolli barely uses them
Oh
Dolly
Theyre designed for moving the glider engines.
yes
whats the bad side?

first pic. overloaded ramps
overloaded ramps?
hes a tail lift kinda guy, ofcourse we arent smart enough to understand him. pinacle of intelligence
always parking in the fuc***ng way on small streets
๐
how dare they drive on MY road. filthy peasants....
No hands?
One hand and yes its a van still learning for truck licenses
The question tho is does a van qualify as a truck.
well it ain't a car
but it aint a truck aswell
and it's bigger thn a silverado which is considered a truck
pickup-truck
Nope.
That's what Americans refer to yes, but it's not a truck. A truck requires you to have a CDL or at least C license in EU to operate and anything you can drive on B isn't a truck it's defined as a car.
^
i'd say as long as it's a 3.5ton or more its a truck
That's literally the definition of truck duh, more than 3.5 tons and you basically need a C license to operate it
we refer 3.5toners as "camionnette" in france, litteraly "little truck"
nah yo can drive up to 3.5tons with a B

I've just said that.
You can have a C1 license to operate trucks between 3.5 - 7.5 tons.
Congratulations you found Wikipedia.

According to what country?
You do realize that those definitions change depending on country!
^
in germany you can drive with a Van with a normal car driving license but you cant drive with it when its final mass will be 3.5 tons so Vans are like something between a truck and a car
We donโt have pickups in the UK, meaning literally nobody buys them
So therefore here t would not be considered a โtruckโ
As I also pointed out earlier to drive a thing called "truck" you need to have at least a C1 license, anything driven on B is not defined as a truck in that way.
we have Pickups in germany but no one buys them because they are literally useless
Here people mostly buy them to haul trailers or their caravans
The UK has a fantasy with expensive German SUVs and small cars
While China for instance still buys MPVs
most of the people here buy a sedan like an Audi A4
Ah Switzerland
Thaaanks for the info?
At bambi
@paper bear i saw what you wrote earlier so I responded
that was jolli, i commented on the mystery "overloaded tailift"
oooooh nvm then
Vans are vans, guys...
They're slapped on heavy-duty truck chassis, depending on said van, but a van is a van. It's all in the design.
Hmm not really, that's as previously said also depending on region
Most smaller vans here which you can operate on a B license can't handle anything heavy and is basically just made for smaller packages
depending on said van
But... No matter how big it is, it's still called a van ๐ค
I'd say this is about where you'd start calling it a truck
And even then these are still called courier vans/panel vans here
As far as I can tell a van is anything with a wall between the interior and exterior that has no windows designed specifically for transporting cargo.
Passenger vans do exist but after a certain size those become buses and are arguably mini buses depending on where you are.
I love conversations like this so much tbh
van
v A N
vAn
Box Truck
Tox Bruck
its a van that is a box with wheels
Also if it's not got twin wheels at the rear it's a van
These courier vans in the U.S have dual rear wheels. But are still called vans.
Well as I said earlier anything you can drive on a B license isn't a truck, to drive a truck you have to at least have a C1 license.
i mean some people overload their vans and its over 3.5 tons
im talking eu limer
Not just some, the police had like a check of that one morning in Stockholm and I think it was something like out of 60 ish, 54 of them was overloaded. It was like some insane statistics
Check the statistics
A full-size truck is put into test of a little girl with a remote control via @VolvoTrucks
Just like me when I used to drive tippers...
That's where @queen brook got his license
lmfao
The difference tho is that I don't have a Norwegian license so ha that worked well for ya Mr Ditch Boi!
ooouch thats a good one, Mr ditch boi
๐
๐
This is so sad
i know what slippery is boi ๐ ask your girlfirend

wtf is the red label on the dash?
I'm not Finnish, but I'm guessing something about the log book? But I might be completely wrong
tried putting it through translate, returned nothing that made sense
yeah, without accents, something about treadmill
"logbook needs to be filled after every drive"
Ah... sweet hot may...
Eventhough that picture was taken last year, in april, in a car
Yeah somebody missed the memo "Real life TRUCKING" apparently
๐ฎ

bet that was a fat paycheck
Definitely not a bad one
Buddy of mine, it just left the yard today. They've been waiting on permits and weather. 2 of them big sobs are enroute to ND
When on break with a Glaceon keychain thing, must try stuff.
It just falls in front of my face if I move sadly
Luckily... ๐
Pffft

The picture doesn't even show the full scania, we can't read finnish and there's no context
You not see this?
translates to: "It's old but safe"
I do not bambi, looks like a proper discord bug you got there
nah the guy deleted it
when i opened the channel it showed but disapeared
For me
Luckily for me, not everything
My old truck..

What have happened, @azure badge ?
What happened to it?
I rolled down a hill right into a tree...
This old Peterbilt..
Oof
how do u just roll down into a tree
I misjudged a corner, in the rain

OK what do you want kid?
That's enough.
Wait which pic?
Opened my curtains and the sun burnt my eyes
I'm way too used to cloud cover and night driving
anyone here work with Load1?
Are you... Irish?
Looks that way. I've got some Irish blood in me and a few Irish friends you seem to resemble ๐
Whole combo full of sausages... ๐

y u m
I am for rusia
Wait that's racist
I mean dude, you can't identify Europeans that way. I mean I'm from Scandinavia does that mean I must be blonde and blue eyes and all that?
Youre not?
I don't have anything against gingers, do you muz?
no need to sweat it, our conversations are always safe....
Ha you know EVERYTHING is wrong when Bambi is the one that says it's "safe" xD
i am the definition of safe
Passengerin
UK?
Judging by the side of the highway he is on I would say yes.
I guess that was pretty much obvious
Looks like Jan Josef Liefers

Hello
With the squad
Nice๐
Mhmmm
Thats not even badly stuck
Jolli will go and get it "stuck" if you want
Cool one
Looks like they are doing a shakehands
Atleast the beda didnt collide lmao
The post thats on pinterest?.. Sure
Yep, that picture is all over the internet
@obsidian cradle please only post pictures of your ACTUAL trucking.....not something you stole off the internet to try to look cool
beautiful Scania you got here Jacoby
Its not his
Jรถlli, let me ask, what is that trailer for?
I have never seen that kind of trailer before
ground material transportation
mostly used in finland
Better alternative for a semi tipper
Sometimes it's more efficient to use a semi
Quicker tipping
Is sisu chinese
"Sisu Auto is a truck manufacturer based in Raseborg, Finland. Its name comes from the Finnish word sisu meaning guts, grit and determination. Sisu Auto has a subsidiary company, "Sisu Defence", producing high mobility tactical vehicles for military use. Wikipedia"
semi tippers are not only stupidly dangerous, but you cant carry much anything in it too
They're more efficient for short trips
not really when a truck can carry more than a semi trailer alone, and then you just drag that small casette trailer with you aswell
Those little dirt dumpers are so dumb... In the U.S we have full-size dumpers! Not those 20ft minitrailers
because the laughable weight limits of south europe (and even worse of US), they tend to be short, and at worse, they have single tipping cylinder all the way in the front of the trailer... so it comes to a short footbase, a 5th wheel that is definitely not a rigid and stable connection.. it makes them really unstable if you need to tip them at any angle
the 5th wheel is one of the worst things, it makes it flex so much that it increases the risk of tipping alot
and the longer the tipping cylinder is.. weaker it get, and more unstable as you lift it further up
also as if US tippers could even carry a load.. yes they may be long but they still cant carry nothing because of the laughable weight limits
We have overweight permits, y'know...
Which most dumping companies have. They also have more than two axles 90% of the time. Sometimes more than four on the trailer alone and it's almost guaranteed the truck has three axles.
And if you have half a brain on a relatively level surface you'll lower the landing gear to stabilize yourself a bit...
Even our concrete trucks have a liftable fourth axle.
lol, so much for quick dumping.. when you need to raise and lower landing gears
Doesn't take that much time. Also, I've only ever seen one guy actually do it. everyone else just dumps and runs
Posted some pictures of big boy dumpers in #photos
It's America.
We do almost everything bigger and better.
about same size as jรถllis little dumpster
better? we can argue on that
bigger sure
clumsier aswell
oh how I've missed drdog's rants
I just love making fun of americans and their primitive machinery
much more agile and better to drive
and naturally.. heavier
take a look inside one, and it definitely is stuck in 1960s
Would like to see a cassette move more than an artic in a day
whats an artic?
Semi
casette moves more
Cassette is slower to unload
And how much more does it move?
This says 1960's to you? O.o
well the modern casettes are running at the 76 ton gross limit, and more
hows your semi? 40? 44?
Sooo how much does it move?
i dont know, ask @queen brook
hes the mass man
I driven everything but the ground materials
How much does your cassette move jolliii
I can haul 44 tons with this rig. 88,900lb weight limit.
im rocking 68 tons on my new combination... a small upgrade from the 60t now with a new trailer
and its couple metres longer
60t? What kind of setup is it? I know our road laws are different, I'm just genuinely curious how different they actually are
Gah, I'm jealous.
3 metres longer trailer than before, 1 more axle and so on
I wish U.S companies ran these.
i do lol
It's a straight truck, definitely goes to shops
See when you're grossed out, are all your axle weights near limit?
been there, done that with the long trailer :P
Same.
so you saying tractor trailers cant go to shops?
i mean i go to some pretty tight lots
most shops dont have proper loading dock even
only the larger grocery markets may have an actual dock
other than that, its tail lift time
Dude.
Talk to me about tight when you back into the Sprouts dock on Colfax in Denver. ๐
And I know some EU docks are tighter than that, coming right off the road at a 90ยฐ angle holding up traffic
๐
narrow alleys and reverse into a small garage, a typical places in the city centres
snug, but fits
I don't bump docks anymore on the often
my customers dont have loading docks
Built for straight trucks without trailers, but when you gotta get it in, you get it in and make that paper, baby!
of course, some places i cant go with the new trailer, simply because its so long, but most places that i went with the old trailer, i can fit with this one too
did it for a while
thank fuck no
I hate them myself hahaha
single loading point and then like 10 to 15 drop offs
i love LTL
Wastes so much time
thats my day
Ha all you lot and your docks.
Half of our sites are farms or old houses. Talk tight when you're down a not suitable for hgv Road
did that too...hauling chickens
dont be so high and mighty, I been to the potato farms and tomato farmers too
I've been there.
Loaded to 35T going across a little bridge with a 5T weight limit.
I was sweating bullets
12-14 hours it seems to be the day lenght
Yeah it's more just country roads. Sites usually in some field packed to the heavens with materials placed in all the wrong bits
Construction sites basically. Barrels of fun
I've heard construction driving ain't too bad
Oh god, loggers.
I wouldn't want to do that job and my hat is off to those guys and gals.
Muzolf... I started my career there
i was thrown into the deep end right from beginning
nah it was fun
you just need to be bit of a creative side to survive
Part of me would like to try it... But man I hate chains and I'm not creative or good with my hands
I know ๐
yup
oh
Not here
pneumatic tighteners
Our chain systems are still all manual and archaic
yes, and it does move
Also, I meant tire chains :P
the wood packs and finds its place, and the automatic tightening keeps it going...
theres no place where you cant go with a liftable drive axles
I still see flatbed drivers getting out to adjust their chains and straps here
lmao
Nothing is automated I don't think
talk about ancient americans
im suprised they even have primitvie ABS systems
RIGHT?
Dude, the all-wheel disc brakes and automatic slack adjusters, as well as hydraulic fifth wheel releases are so nice
I honestly don't know. I just know they work since I had to keep from running over someone who walked into traffic the other day
Trailer ABS is garbage, however...
Yeah we do have air brakes
yes, but do they have the traditional lag to them
Yup
That shit's horrifying
i have zero problems with my brakes

"Why am I not sto" jar
well yeah, but the laggy pneumatic brakes are thing of a past, been for like 30 years soon
Bobtail is aids
no more half to a second lag on brake release or when you press it
thats been eliminated in europe in like late 90s
muzolf a european truck wouldnt be enough.. they'd need also actual trailer with the ABS EBS electronics with it
If I'm honest
If I could have any American truck, it'd be a Volvo. It's the closest thing we have to an EU truck as far as build quality goes.
and still theres nothing volvo about it except the body
It's the nicest American truck I've ever driven
And has all of Volvo's latest safety features that are on the FH model over seas iirc
not a fan of their forward collision mitigation system tho
as far as i know about the american "ABS" system, its a single pin mixed with in the light plug that says "I'm braking now" to the trailer
thats it
I hate collision mitigation systems in general.
Know why?
or more like the truck sends a signal to the trailer, hey, i'm braking.. do something sensible
absolutely no feedback and talk between the truck and trailers ABS units
makes it absolute shit
also you lose all the nice stuff like axle scales, height adjusting from the truck for entire combination.. and many many other nice things
15MPH.
Collision mitigation systems don't work.
At.
All.
It's still a shitty system.
It didn't even realize I was getting close.
Never engaged.
Didn't apply the brakes.
Nothing.
It's useless.
sounds like shit truck
...k
the emergency brake system works just fine in all trucks i driven in europe
and boy do they stop
All it does is get scared by low Bridges and tunnel signs, jamming on the brakes when it doesn't need to.
and i had not a single misjudgement and mistake judgement from it
mercedes and freightliner.. same shit as far as i know
Not even surprised
and theres the american
not american
I laughed the other day when I saw a semi hauling an old trailer without ABS locked up the trailer tires. The trailer hopped up and down for like 50ft
but thanks for assuming
tbh, shouldnt be speaking of ABS anymore, its way better system than that
it does much more than just ABS
well.. first came ABS, then the EBS, which is Electric brake system, meaning theres electronics in the front, and old air system in the background as backup, reducing brake lags etc stuff
CBS.jpeg?
EBS pretty much allows the trailer to send data back to the truck aswell.. such as axle masses, and various other features you can program to it
I want this technology.
up to 1 second is acceptable as far as i know in inspection
or well.. thats the activation lag
the release is usually half second longer than the activation lag
It'd be nice to have an EBS to mitigate that lag honestly
If for nothing else
thats originally what it was created for
eliminate that needless delays when you need to brake to stop
basically reduce all the useless variables from stopping distance
Sataedu Virttaan kankaan jarrutustesti
76 tons from 80kmh to stop
yeah
and thats old combination, not many axles even
Duuude!
as the mass increases, and braking axles.. the braking distance gets lower funny enough
Sataedu Virttaan kankaan jarrutustesti
Funny... empty 21tn truck, stoping distance absolutely same
It's actually really hard to cook brakes here.
I've been pretty stupid trying to learn how to drive mountains properly and I've never even made them smell
I always use my engine brake though, and snub brake to scrub speed off
yes but its also most likely been through the most brake and clutch rebuilds ever
yeee
either way... the stopping distance on the dry road is less than 70m pretty much always
That's fantastic compared to our stuff
no idea whats thats in inches and gallons but who cares
^
A semi being able to stop in under half of that is... Ridiculously amazing imo
Why are we so behind?!
Actually I'm almost certain it's to cut costs
Oh my God! How are used Scanias so cheap?!
yeah... thankfully we have the kind of people with mindset where "This is not good enough, it can be made better" where as american tech is Eeeh.. my grandfather designed this during WW II, im sure its fine even up to date
define cheap
eeh... 14000 gets you probably some old driven in thing
Actually no
I'm thinking of trucks with 500,000 miles on them
Our trucks are stupidly expensive even when used
well.. companies and owners tend to update their trucks fairly regularily
norwegians for sure switch trucks like their underwear
Well
There's a Scania T from 2001 on this site at $57,000 USD
Most expensive used one so far and I know why
you tend to get like 400-500,000km 2013 trucks from there fairly regularily
norway is probably only place where i'd buy a used semi truck anyways
My truck has 300,000 miles on it
And it's a 2017
๐
mine has 776,000km and its 2016
its 2 brothers been swapped for nextgens already as they passed 1.1 million mark
These trucks sit a lot...
The only thing keeping me from moving to the E.U is how cucked they are and how hard they're gonna tax me for being a car guy
I pay almost nothing for registration and insurance here, same for gas
eeeh.... its not that bad in finland atleast
as opposed to some green and gay france and germany
yeah
I hope so. Otherwise you guys would be boned
you just need to know the certain loopholes when it comes to car building
$6 a gallon
To hellll with that
especially if you really want to get into engine side tuning etc have it still street legal
I plan on staying away from any country that has a "CaRbOn TaX"
Because that's stupid.
Let me have fun dammit
eeh
my toys are all old enough that they dont comply with any emission laws or requirements
taxing private car owners
not taxing big corporations who emit countless greenhouse gasses from plants

What's old enough though?
Can I still rock my 90's cars?
1989 chassis
well, I have always wanted an AE86
diesels got first emission crap on like 1994
so i just went for old enough chassis to not be included in that shit
But a gas engine from the mid 90's should be okay?
i dont touch petrol toys ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
ohh
diesel makes power, petrol is a cleaning aid
How's the Volvo wagon TD market there? >~>
volvo turbobricks are in favour
though.. they are heavy so that effects on its taxing unless you register it as a van
But then again..
theres no point in driving a petrol volvo either because the diesel becoems cheaper in the long run anyways
simply because its so heavy
245 then
"Smiles per gallon"
I'm so fortunate to have this job, so I don't really have to care about it either
exactly, when you work in something that is not a deadend office drone job, you have money left for toys too
In America that's a huge accomplishment actually
Since most people end up stuck in cubicals these days
๐
yes, but atleast you got ever changing view from that cubical
I actually prefer cabovers
rather than staring at the neighbour's brickwall across the street
This
Cabovers are so much more manageable in a city, my god...
A 4x2 Scania R-500 I think would do the job just fine.
No need for these absolute units
Really wish SCS would show the classic Kenworth K100 cabover some love in ATS. Or maybe an old Freightliner.
I mean
I have a what, 350 in my American semi? Sucks up hills.
"I wanted to get a V8 but none of the benefits, so i chose the R500"
meanwhile an old R480 pulls just as hard as a 500
Things I don't know because I'm not euro spec ๐
basically the 500 and later, 520 engines are the engines for those stubborn customers who wants a V8 but no benefits of it
yes
Oooh... Classic Scania 143. Want one of those
unless you go chip the 500, its fairly lazy
Just popped into my head.
If you could have any EU rig, what would it be?
considering the fact that my 450 pulls harder than the 500s
6x2 taglifting, limits removed R560 or R580 and then go get it optimized at some truckpuller and shoot off to norway
Norway doesn't restrict truck speed?
That's another thing that bothers me...
If I want to do 80 in the U.S, I actually can in some places and in most places outside California I can do 70-75MPH
you have straight flat roads
and shit brake systems to make the collisions fatal when needed to
๐ ๐
well.. norway is pretty much all just mountains and narrow roads
๐
and it gets snow
Norway sounds like my kind of place
Now I wonder... Do you get paid by the km? Or on salary? Or perhaps hourly?
im on hourly
Is it possible to be paid by the km?
yees, its the worst way to get paid
Although since your trucks are so slow I'd imagine-yeah
yes and sometimes may be days when you dont drive that much
so paying by km is the worst
Do you get paid for being in your truck regardless of whether you're moving?
Mate my truck will go just as fast as yours ๐
Hourly
i got my hourly pay, then some norwegian drivers get solid sum per day, and then the worst of all is the pay by km
God, hourly would be amazing
I can get hourly pay but that's local driver pay
Top of the ladder drivers basically
Here if you do OTR you're a rookie
And doing local means you're a veteran
I've never understood that but eh
because rookies can be thrown out to the world for months at time
$20 USD an hour for local here
veterans are most likely already family men who care about being home
and prefer doing local stuff where you get home daily

I actually switch between local and dedicated when they need my help >~>
$120 for six hours of work makes me squirm with happiness
but yeah, i'd never be able to reach same level of pay for a day if i'd get paid by km and drive whole day
so thats one thing thats cutting off some job oppoturnities
so i havent bothered to switch out for the long distance driving
but im looking into the norway and sweden driving
Maybe you can find an hourly deal there
or even solid sum per day
That would be great
i dont think many offers hourly pay for international driving
pay per km i'll never do
I'm doing pay per mile at 62 MPH as is
because the little i know, is enough to know that some days are slow where you may not get to move anywhere because of external conditions.. especially in winter time you sometimes just have to sit it out... and those kind of days are not good
i can count the times only with 1 hand when i'v actually had to sit out the weather here, but i hear its bit different kind of ballgame in the norway
Broken ass trucks don't help my miles either
last time was in january? i think when we had a party on side of the major highway infront of a hill that was in proper mirror ice
sat there for like 4 hours, one tried to get up the hill, almost made it, and then came back down... so the rest just stopped on the side and sat out and just stood in the middle of the highway in circle talking trash
while watching a salt truck go up and down the hill
I have bags of ice melt and salt rocks in my external toolbox
then somebody came with a B-double full throat, we watched wether he got up or ended up coming back down, he went up... we deemed it grippy enough that we could get up too..
I'm getting my Doubles endorsement this week c:
what i heard, there was pretty much tens of trucks infront of every major hill on that highway section
Jeeez
O.o
I'd love to haul our super doubles
48ft lead with a 42ft pup
The 48 footer is usually a reefer and the 42 footer is a Dryvan
I mean.. from what i heard.. this part of the road was lined up with trucks
whole section
all the worst hills of the entire highway are on that section
You drive in Finland?
yeah
because we ripped them probably off with the height adjusting when you are resting against the rubber?
rip Muzolf's trailer
if i won the lottery, i would definately move thetr
its so nice
if they let me ๐
accidentally
but you know what sort of sinkholes the damn grooves infront of the docks are
pfft who needs a camera
unless you got double decker trailer, always go for the hit
especially at KKK since some of the loading ramps are the folding type you need to push yourself against the dock so that it can reach in
Scratched and dented it slightly
weve all done it at some point
its why you dont get nice lorries as soon as you start ๐
Pictures, videos and other suggestions of dangerous driving is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: using a mobile phone while driving on a public road, driving with excessive speed on a public road, showing illegal/unsafe/unfit vehicles and/or mods. Dashcam footage is an exception, so long as you did not cause any danger yourself.
ignore it
yeah, always have ๐
Yes, common sense too actually
It was this dock. Caught that trailer trying to 90 in with the tandems all the way forward like a moron
As long as the driver doesn't take pictures while driving it's good
Same
Goodbye nights, see you again in autumn
thats from your old one right?
That's a hilarious rule because I'm going to take pictures whenever I want in my own truck regardless of what anyone thinks.
exactly
That's up to you
especially when theres absolutely nobody on the road
^
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
cats have suicidal tendencies, birds come and go.. only thing you dont really want to hit is a moose
You know how many deer I've seen pureรฉd on the side of the road?
We're taught to mow them down here
Telling a real trucker not to do something is just a surefire way to see more of it especially on the internet
Also who tf needs cameras on a casette
You bet
When you got mirrors
Gridlocked traffic.
if you cant reverse into a damn hole, you shouldnt be reversing or driving nonetheless
Also i just almost did an big oopsie
My trailers front was a bit down and my trucks nose up
Like a V
I just decided to go full yolo, got it in tho
well when you adjust your drawbar right, it wll go in almost always unless you are in absolutely wierd terrain
It wasnt the drawbar
