You have things called floor mats to protect the floor from the heel of your boot
You can wear boots in the cab and still keep it clean.

Because dirt everywhere lowers the sell value, and wearing boots for 6 years really leaves marks that's impossible to remove
But you also have a point it depends on the type of driving you do
On the rare occasions I do local distribution with 50+ stops I use my boots inside
And if I had to lace my boots every time I'd at no cost remove them from my feet

The trailer only weighs 6 ton, and the rigid weighs 22
So putting 3 ton of wood on it really doesn't feel weird. But when you put a 16ton digger on the trailer. Or a 11ton load all you feel it.
And it's a lovely combo to drive
It's longer than a semi. But it can get into tighter spots most of the time
Plus, the tail swing can make the trailer go wider then you. It's brilliant once you get the hang of it.

But they can also fold onto the floor.
The whole tail also folds down.
So you can do this
Or take the trailer off. Then the bit that over hangs. That's on a hinge. It also folds down
