i think its just that the majority of trucks in the us are for bulk haulage, large volume low weight. so they just have 2 axle trailers? i honestly wouldnt know, my knowledge of the US is rather limited
All i know is my crane had another oil leak today
Tomorrow all hoses will be replaced
And i’ll be on the 105t for a day
i remember i had a period where i was bursting hoses all over the place, just older machines get to that point
Yea
In the center of the crane you can see the steel of the hoses
Cuz of all the slewing
The mechanic said it’s better to replace all because if 1 comes to that point, all others are also
yeah, your slew is done by a large hydraulic cylinder aint it?
yeah, ours are on slew motors. so the hoses are routed differently
You have a center joint
You can also slew unlimited i think
I can only do 420 degrees
420
If i hang above the left side of my truck i can slew all the way around until it reaches the right side
I guess my new truck ain’t coming since it can go along for another 10 years lol
crane not centred?
weird, ours are pretty accurate to the load chart
Ye the load chart is 75% of the real capacity
They build a crane and they take 75% of what it can lift
yeah, i just didnt explain it well 😄
but we have front mounted cranes
so as soon as you go over the front of the cab, or like. past the landing legs. it lowers its capacity to 80%
I know
If you know what you’re doing it goes well
But some people are just dumb to tip over
yours wont have sensors on the legs does it, so it doesnt know if youre half rigged
Yep
Not even a sensor for being rigged at all
Usually it does have a sensor that detects pressure
yeah, was like my old one. you could set it up with the legs half out, and it could still lift to its limit without tipping. handy thing
yeah, but rust started to get to mine. we're very coastal. the chassis used to flex visibly when lifting heavy and half rigged
had an 8t digger on the back and you could see the bed waving up and down
that was the end for it
I’m also amazed how steel can bend without breaking
its flexible, which is what saves it most of the time
Hatsu wheel loaders arent meant to be played around with
Just plain stupid with your "drifting"
Its just that the rear wheels slip when turning. Cant really do anything about it
Gotta love not having a diff, eh?
merc 😕
@paper bear Volvo is Better 😄
Renault is best
Lol
volvo is better, but scania is better again
I don't know why, but I prefer Volvo. But I know have some mind like you @paper bear
*same
When the road maintanence level has gone down another level
Ouch!! Then Jölli realizes, the snow plow is driving 2 Trucks behind him. 😉
How do you plow mirror ice
I think just give a sand top of it
You can't just scratch it, cause it's gonna broke the road
Sorry, cause I'm on tropical country
Hell yes you can scratch it
How ? Without scratch the asphalt. I'm never know it, lol. When I watch Highway Through Hell, they pour sand top of the ice
We use salt around here, sand further north where the temps go too low for salt.
So stupid to use salt, just ruins cars
That's why I always say, cars should be made fully out of plastic..
Lol
I'm never can imagine it, when you park the plastic car in front of the office building full glass. When you come home, your car already transform to liquid plastic vehicle
plastic can be made to be pretty good at not melting from heat
Do you ever heard sport car on British got melt cause sunlight from mirror effect from glasses office building. I'm forgot the detailed one, but know that news ?
Oh yeah, this week my back feels weird. It's never happen when I'm driving, just this week. Already ask for rest 1 day without driving but my back feels weird. Any trucker ever like me ? Idk what happen to me
*still
cool truck
Thx
Why do ppl even try to fake that a truck that is not theirs is theirs. Do they even realize that reverse image search is a thing
The exact reason I dont trust many people on here unless they can post multiple images of it
i would post a pic of my "new" truck, but ive been having battery issues on my phone 😄 everytime i goto look at it its dead
its outside my house, but dark af
and just put phone on charge
new wagon? which one is it?
its a 6 series r580 hiab and drag
At lunch today I saw a blade for a wind turbine being transported, and it was f*cking mahoosive
In Grand Junction on break. A fifteen year old kid almost got himself and his family killed when he panicked and merged in front of my truck which was traveling at 65MPH while he was doing 40MPH. He didn't have to merge, but the stalled vehicle on the side made him panic and he didn't check his mirrors before trying to move over. Half of my truck took the left hand shoulder and the left tires hit the dirt. Thank God it was packed nice and firmly. Hell of a first day on I-70! We both pulled over, and I jumped out to be sure I didn't hit them. The mother was so grateful I moved over and avoided taking them out. And thank goodness the kid used his signal or I might have hit them. He learned a valuable lesson today. I'm not mad and wasn't mad, just thankful everyone got out unscathed.
Road raging is the best you can do with pants on tbh
That's fucking fifteen year old kid, how dare the mother let him drive in fucking interstate. I hope Highway Patrol gonna catch them up.
@upper bolt please watch your language, swearing isn't permitted on this server
I like it
Ohh, wow...
Some proper tires and trucks and such weather wouldn't be any problem for anyone.
Sorry, sir. @candid solstice
@patent bolt that is true, but sometimes you just have no choice but to stop
Btw, that green point on the map is where I took the pics
Navajo and these foresaken all-weather tires...
Winter storm in america is 5cm of snowe
Correct @thick cedar
My Dad’s truck - Man Euro6 TGM. I got to drive it around the lot, surprised by how light the steering was and how well it handled
So rood Bambi, get a webasto instead! 😛
we arent wusses down here, we dont need uprated heaters, stock are enough 💪
🤔
Webasto is a life saver tho
If your battery isnt complete garbage
Gotta love sunday working also
Webasto is only used while sleeping though and it's very much needed when you park in -20 degrees or something xD
I use webasto every morning if its below -5C
jolli never sleeps in the lorry tho
Yea no shit
Nah, I do that every week so I use it every night basically except in the summers
not even a webasto could save him in that tin can
and Bambi we all already know that Jölli really isn't a real trucker 😛
😄
Yeah :( even excavator operators think tipper drivers are peasants under them
dw Jolli, im sure youll escape them one day
Sorry, on mobile, can’t see the channel description
swipe left
I don’t need to swipe left to post a photo, it’s on the text bar
As such, I didn’t see it
swipe left, it shows the description
I said
I don’t need to swipe left to post the photo so I didn’t see it
I don’t read channel descriptions for fun
so you didnt see the description, not that you "cant" see it.
I didn’t see it
Tbh I didn’t know you could view it from there
So thanks for telling me
Nah but one excavator dude from Ouka almost always wants me there 😃
Seems like i have an secret lover
watch out,
Sausage party!
🙈
Well i mean there must be atleast one tipper driver at a worksite so you can blame him of everything
It finally arrived. And I want it.
Kenworth W990
Those headlights are bloody awful
give me a scania any day...
actually, its surprising how narrow your american trucks are
theyre long, but narrow as hell
makes living in them not very nice
And pre-historic most of them
@paper bear not all of them, usually the classic ones are narrow. I drive VNL, before I was driving FH and I dont see the difference.
compared to eu trucks, they look tiny
Yeah, classics are smaller than the regular ones
like, eu the cabs are as wide as the wheels, where as every truck in the us looks like the cab is a good 2 feet narrower than the wheels
Yeah, but still not the same as the classic ones
That W990 looks weird
Bambi so proud he finally got himself a proper truck! 😂
shut up you, daf is just as proper as that scani
Yeah I mean Scania do sell some toy trucks at their shops as well for kids, so yeah if you can call that proper I suppose they are 🤔
I almost want to switch to Knight Transportation for a new Volvo 860...
but it'd be red
My company have few of those, whenever I see them I'm so jealous lol
Ouch
oof... cronch
Oh my god
never touched one in my life
dont plan to
box work is not my cup of tea, very boring
Used them quite a lot in the fridges, but never seen anyone put them on the spoilers like that... ours were kept in the trailers at all times
@thick cedar i thought those keep the side things in place 😂
KEK
They bend the absolute snot out of the wings with them.
btw, Love's tanker
Imagine trucking in EU
lol
That would kinda suck
5 series 👌
Yes 👌

Since everyone else is taking pics of their steering wheels 😂
oh, nvm just one person...
Ooh V8

Ha Bambi so proud of finally having a proper truck.... 😂
Proper truck indeed \m/
Yep, and you'll be loosing your V8 by the end of the year noxxi :p
New gen 500 here it comes
Nice!
😎
Nice Renault
Where?
On the pic that jölli sent
Can you not see the SISU badge?
No, its clearly a renault

He just disguised it as a Sisu
Good thing i can stalk that no one touches my ride when im having my 30min
Weathercam
Actually no @paper bear if I get a 500 I'm quitting as I refuse to drive such a weak truck over the mountains I'm currently driving over, I want a 580 or 650 and other than that is just no no 😛
^
Hatsu....
Yes Nox?
Just nah, nah, nah....
Okay
Exactly
@worldly wasp that's a cool truck, never been inside tho. How much space does it have inside? Cause to me it kinda looks like it's new generation of Renault premium, considering that aspect.
@queen brook where does it say that you have to drive them to send a picture?
"Are you a real life trucker? Cool! Share your truck pics and experiences here! For random truck pics, use #photos"
In the channel description.
Sure thing, lemme send a paid assassin after this kid cause he broke the rule boo hoo.
Rules here are meant to be obeyed
no need to get upset, it's just a simple rule so that this channel doesn't get flooded with images of "this is my X truck", when you reverse search an image posted here, it turns out to be from the top result on Google
I'm not upset, I just don't like elitism. Sure thing we're drivers and all, but what about truck spotters and enthusiasts?
If you say so...
The issue is if people start posting random truck pictures here, the conversation between real drivers will be lost
We noticed that happen many times
It's not called "real-life-truck-spotting" this channel though is it
Noxi, that's what this conversation is about.
About what? The fact that you want to post more than what is allowed in here?
No, about the fact that we don't have to say "get out" to anyone who's bending the rule.
No one told you to actually get out, you're more than welcome to be here. However you've been told that pictures posted in this channel is mainly for real life truckers, if you have a dad that drives on that's cool but as Moh advised you we have a #photos channel for that instead. Rules are there for a reason most of the time, ofc no one will hang you for posting that now, but you can't bend the rules over and over again and expect to get away with it and that's why you actually got informed about it now so you won't get in any form of unnecessary trouble.
noxii, what cargo do you generally haul?
Food and dairy products
ah nice
Anything that TINE in Norway produces
fridge work
Yeah, some ice cream as well as they own the company Diplom Is in Norway as well
Compare in what way you mean?
Noxii I am a driver too and convo wasn't about me
is there a different strategy to loading it, are they certain things you have to be aware of
Guess i wont be lifting axles anymore
or is it exactly the same, but just the unit turned up
ive got the day off work as someone broke my truck ! Dam Agency Drivers
Ooof sorry @thick cedar I misread something, I'm too tired xD
But well that still applies, this is mainly for us drivers to post pics not for randoms to post random pics 😛
And @uncut bronze it's basically the same, we get all of our loads in containers on wheels so we just shove them on, strap them and then just put the rear reefer thingy on -24c
yeah that's a fair bit more than mine was
Oh?
mine were usually only 7 as i drove short haules from and to slaughterhouses
Worst thing is that we have to turn the reefer off when going onto the ferry and if the walls aren't closed properly it'll leak out the cold air and it becomes warmer in there and if the temperature is too warm they will scrap the entire load of ice cream
We had one a week or so ago that had an air temp of -11 or something for about 2 hours so they scrapped it, but we called that BS cuz if they had measured the core temp of the ice cream instead of just looking at our temp logs which just measures the air temp inside the trailer they could have seen it was perfectly fine
yeah there's no fooling in that sector
And nah but when hauling both milk and ice cream we have these kinda 3 walls inside the trailer to separate the compartments
i've had to return an entire load once because one carcass had a bit of hair on it
Ah yeah but that's different, that's bacteria and stuff. This was because they thought that the ice cream was too warm when it wasn't
still boils down to bacterial growth
when those products get "too warm" there's always a risk of bacterial growth
but that load was carcasses and vacuum sealed pallets, crates and bags. could understand the carcasses being returned, but everything had to go back for inspection
not that the extra drive mattered on an hourly pay 😁
and this is why i enjoy driving containers and not reefers
nothing wrong with reefers tbh, pretty relaxed work
though most of my loads took a while to get ready as the truck delivering livestock were delayed
Yeah but as I said Random there's a difference in the core temp of the product and the temp logs from our trailers
The core temp is what is important, what our trailers measure is air temp, so if the air temp isn't to their satisfaction they should instead measure the core temp just to double check
yeah fair enough
but as long as you get paid for the hours you drive, it's all good
True true
@thick cedar Yes its one of the new generation Renault Premium it is lets say 2 years old and it has good amount of space. 2 hydraulic chairs. The company always gets new versions every 2-3 years nothing changes but the interior design
Ha sure glhf with that
I have the option to post pictures because it’s permitted
Not if it violates the rules of said discord or channel.
No where does it say it’s NOT permitted to post pictures in here
We'll delete any images that aren't related to the channel topic and point you to the #photos channel
😄
No where did I say I was going to post unrelated pictures.
Then I don't know what your original comment was for, I hope you know provoking is against the rules
Neither am I provoking, I’m just stating.
If you need a reminder: #discord-rules available 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year 😅
As I said, I’m not provoking, I’m stating.
My school is getting a new truck in a near future
Makes so much sense 😂👍
Todays hauls
you in a Volvo? what happened
dun dun duuuunnnnnn
My colleague is sick so i had to drive his truck
It looks so weird without the aero kit (or whatever its called) lol
Tomorrow the good ole daf will do the job
Is it still leaking hydraulic oil?
noxxi takes wuss cargo, let me know when youre a real trucker with a flatbed 😛
Ha let me know when you're a real trucker driving on some proper roads Bambi and not just highway surfing you bloody steering wheel holder 😝
BTW as I said were swapping out part of our vehicle fleet this year, guess how many trucks we'll be ordering?
"A real trucker with a flatbed."
"Highway surfing steering wheel holder."
Jesus Christ. Bunch of children. We all haul freight that has to go where it has to go. Without dryvans, reefers and "highway surfing steering wheel holders," the industry would collapse. So stop trying to be better than everyone else. You drive a flatbed, great! At least you have control over whether or not what you're hauling is secure. If I'm picking up a preloaded trailer I don't get to check, and crap like this happens.
Wow Discord thinks that picture is explicit
Ugh... Basically, Lowe's "secured" my load with cardboard and zipties. It almost fell on me when I opened the doors today before backing into the dock.
I'll never understand super-truckers who think they're better than everyone else because they haul a certain kind of freight.
We're all brothers of the highway. Grow up a bit for Christ sake.
Just sick of seeing it. Sick of hearing it on the CB, too. We're all out there providing a service to grateful and ungrateful customers. Regardless of the freight we haul.
Flatbed drivers who poke fun at dryvan/reefers piss me off the most.
Without those trucks you'd have no food or clothes, so zip it.
And flatbed drivers should know that better than anyone who hates us.
Makes me want to flip a table.
I just hear it way too often.
I'm also on edge after today.
This is the driveway I had to use.
Not wide enough. Built for straight trucks.
To back into the dock I had to get out onto the street.
I've been in tighter spots but this was just a massive hazard.
That's a somewhat popular highway, too.
Shippers and receivers make our jobs harder than they need to be
36 actually
Yeah. Not to mention some kid almost killed himself when he swerved in front of me the other day. Had I not hit the dirt he'd be gravely injured or worse. And his mother and sister, too.
There's a lot of stupid people in the world waiting to make a mistake.
Waiting for you to make a mistake as well.
Absolutely. Especially when you're holding the reigns of 40t or more.
EU has different weight restrictions... In the U.S you can haul up to 80,000lbs without permits. I'm permitted for 88,900lbs
I'd imagine the UK has similar laws
So it's the same
Niiice
TIL
The other night I wanted to run this SUV over.
She parked directly in the way of my truck.
They actually got her to come out and move it
They're not supposed to park there
I told them I could get it in there anyway, but they told me to turn my wheel to the left and wait to cement the point.
Old Odyssey
The van wasn't the issue though. That SUV was more of a nuisance.
Yeah, I did that on purpose for when she came out >~>
They told me to make a point
Pretty much haha
Finally eating for the first time in 24hrs
Been running like mad
Yet I still have a pot belly
Never changes @~@

I feel that
You know the most annoying thing about my rig?
No passenger's seat.
My girl won't be able to come along until I either start working for Knight or get one with a jumper seat
Extremely uncommon. Navajo is the only company I've heard of that does this
If I go work for Knight I can get a Volvo VNL with a full-size sleeper
The reason is weight and space saving
That's a Cascadia or at the very least a Freightliner gauge cluster
Drove a Cascadia for a while
The gauge cluster in the Argosy is basically the same iirc...
At the least? 1,600lb-ft with... 400HP? I'm honestly not sure
Ten speed automatic... Hate it.
But it gets the job done I suppose
I would, yeah
I'd also prefer a 13 speed
Would be much better uphill
Take care bud
Those are hot
First time ever in 3 years that the "twin" trucks operated the same route at the same time 😎
Are those the only two rigs exactly alike in the entire company? O.o
I think so yeah, we have more that looks fairly alike yeah but all have some minor differences. These 2 were bought at the exact same time with the exact same specifications and the only thing that technically makes them different is the 1 last digit in the reg number
Yeah but they're getting replaced later this year as these 2 are now defined as "too old" and we'll sell them for export most likely
Aww. How old are they now?
3 years in April 😂
That's all...?
Yeah our fleet gets renewed every 3 years 😝
Granted I'm driving a 2018... But I've seen rigs on the road that look like they're right out of DUEL
Heck, I ran into the back of a ten year old truck.
Freightliner Classic XL
Haha yeah that's understandable, there's plenty of them here as well but lots of large customers requests the trucks to keep up with the latest like emission requirements etc
Gross... I honestly despise emissions
And that's why I want a Freightliner Argosy. No need to comply with that mess outside California
Just makes owning trucks more expensive for everyone involved
Yeah well we got it working as we sell them for export later
That's good at least
That way we always got a new and nice fleet of trucks
I thought diesels didnt have to comply with emissions
Diesels have their own special emissions to comply with
AdBlu in the EU, DEF in the U.S
And I mean sure it's gonna be nice to get a new truck and all but I'm sure gonna miss this one when it goes :/
What about older diesels
AJ some companies demand that you keep up with today's standards
Anything made before the regulations were put in place in the U.S can either be converted or not. Depends on if you go through California. iirc they'll still fine you.
Ahhhhhhhh ok
DEF crystalizes... The idea is to crystalize the diesel particulates and make them fall to the ground, I think.
It's just bull urine... You can urinate in our DEF tanks and make it to a fuel station to get more if you're running low.
Or at least that's what I'm told.
It doesn't touch the engine.
It gets squirted into the exhaust.
Diesel Exhaust Fluid

I'll admit that made me giggle too
I need to get back to the Navajo yard before I get towed or it gets late.
What is it with 12 year olds being on discord
btw, if you put DEF in the diesel tanks and get it into the engine, the DEF itself will ruin the engine.
It's... A sad idea. It's for "emissions"
Also nowadays if you're rolling coal that's borderline against the law
Which is why it isn't simulated in ATS
If you want no emissions, get a V8
Mmm... I want a Scania T V8 so bad
Dream truck I think
Second only to a Western Star 4900 EX Lowmax
If I had a dream truck it would prolly be a Scania T
They're pretty.
I know
Hopefully I get to go to the U.K and find one at a truck show
Mannnn
I wanna sit in one so badly
That's all I drive in single player ets 2
Same, either that or I drive a classic eurotruck of some kind.
DAF, Volvo, Scania 143
In mp I'm currently driving the new MAN
my dream truck has to be a 164L
I have a new MAN too. I posted pictures a while back. Anyhow, I gotta go. Keep it between the ditches!
Ok, same to you @thick cedar have a good night
You too, bud. Thanks.
Also yesterday, all the way backwards in Amsterdam
That's impressive.
#Nederland!
Haha kojack getting all triggered over a joke. And noxxi I barely see motorways and dual carriage ways. I'm over an hour away from my nearest motorway
So you can shove that "highway cruiser" idea up your ass
:p
Yes we all fall under "truckers" but There's many different jobs within that category. All have varying challenges.
But flatbeds are the most interesting loads definitely ;)
When you've got a fridge or box you're always the same size. Flatbeds and low loaders mean you could be a lot wider or longer. More challenging ay
@paper bear im the same as you, over an hour away from a motorway. As I live in Dorset
Yeah manly just rural single carriage way
Yeah still 50 minutes from a duel carriage way
Im half an hour from a dual
You soon learn where all the bad bits are to meet someone. Trees on the passenger side are just as bad as lorries sometimes
Thats so true
I hate some places its just a random intersection in the middle of no where with traffic lights when it is a literal dirt road
Haven't seen a traffic light all week 😂
And unlike fridges, I don't have to care about the temperature of my load, so there's one less challenge.
And unlike boxes I don't care about the wind.
Like I said we've all got our own challenges. I just prefer the challenges low loaders and flatbeds offer.
yeah wind is no fun
Eat me, Bambi. I'm dealing with a lot of crap and that was just the straw that broke the camel's back yesterday. Should be alright now.
In other news, while holed up in Salt Lake, I've found a cute little diner. The Black Bear Diner. So far it's the coolest place I've been to, next to Cracker Barrell. If any of you get the chance here in the U.S, stop by and check one out.
eat you? not into that 😉 😄

I feel that in my soul tbh
I still can't believe this is how they secured the load.
lol
OI
Get that bloody rust bucket out of here!
@maiden swan deal with it.
Do your job Mr Yeehaw
@edgy mountain as stated this is for real life truckers, if you wish ti show off your porsche I suggest you go to #car-talk
@maiden swan sorry
And if you dont have the role go to #bot-commands and type ?rank car talk
Would Memorial convoys be suitable to show in here?
@thick cedar Lowe's
New CB is pretty
Need to have the shop fix my left antenna though... It's absolutely shot. The hole the antenna itself screws into has been shoved down inside the mirror bracket...
Wow, I havent seen a CB in like 2 years
Daaang
We used to have one in one our truck but the CB got removed from the truck
So? It's just a CB lol
It needed to be blue
That was pretty much the only requirement and yes I bought it based on that plus another driver who had like five of them said the Cobra was the best, so I went with that haha
Also, a nice CB comes in handy in the mountains of Colorado.
It made me giggle, it comes with a rulebook from the F.C.C
looks bright
we have much smaller, but still get decent range out of them.
like jolli's size
The range really depends on how good it's setup
and antenna
FM
AM has better range
although, i jumped into another one of our trucks and he was on AM
so fuuuurrrrek knows
i just keep switching 😄
whatever sounds best at the time
I don't have to since everyone uses A;
AM
i still don't understand the ASC value
Because my cb takes disturbance from any electrics being used
i dont understand half the sh1t
mine only gets interference off of worklights on the headboard, all other worklights are good
my old daf used to get interference off of the window sprayers 😄
in my capacity as chief tour guide for a truck museum I get to attend all manner of historical truck shows, trade shows etc here in Australia and have got many photos of interesting machines that people here might be interested in. The truck pictured above is an example of keeping the truck on the road.
From memory (forgive me as this was back in 2011 i took this photo and talked to the owner) this truck started life as a Foden and was rolled in the mid-to-late 1970s. The owner then replaced the shattered Foden cab with that of a K100 Kenworth, the front axle from an Atkinson, the back axles and suspension from a Thornycroft, fitted an 18 speed gearbox and the engine is a Rolls Royce V12 diesel produceing somewhere around 600hp......the owner said it went like a rocket back in the day.
If people are interested in seeing and hearing more, let me know and i will post others over time
That's an incredible story man! Thanks for sharing
i have many more, have been compiling stories from old drivers for the last 8 years, drivers who grew up on B-model Macks, Bedfords and the like
That's a very smexy cabover. And a great story to boot. Thanks for sharing, bud.
@dawn lava 1. Thats an amazing story
2. There is a fake you
@thick cedar oh? where? wouldn't surprise me, too many unoriginal people around these days
@thick cedar
What?
his question^
Oh
Aw
Think he left
I did redtail to tag him and there was another with a default pfp
ahh
i am still here
once a year we have a memorial convoy for fallen drivers and nearly 800 trucks attend each year. They arrive on a saturday, have a night of live music etc and then attend the memorial the following morning. Here is a Western Star in last year's convoy
those stone guards look so stupid
gotta have them by law
stone guards?
and it beats replacing windshields every time someone passes you
i take it thats in australia?
yeah
I have been told by traffic enforcement officers that the stone guards are being made mandatory
glad that isnt happening here, imo stone guards arent nice
again, beats replacing your windshield every time someone tears past you and throws up stones
and even if they do not make it mandatory, it is still good policy to have them, same as with bullbars to protect your truck from hundreds, if not thousands of dollars worth of damage
and when the convoy comes in, it looks like this.....for 3 hours or more, with blaring air horns
I'm still remember when I was kid and going to Australia. My friend's dad just hit one of them and make our vehicle completely broke and killed the kangaroo. Glad we all safe just have a little injured
the beautiful thing about that photo is how people come together for the event.
It isnt the trucks that make the show, its the people.
this area has strong farming and transport roots
the 2011 turnout
has only got bigger since then
i am heading off to sleep, is 1am
Wow... What I'd give to be part of that. 💙
More of my photos from the memorial convoy, this time 2016's convoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjF4Nmieu10
Today (1 Oct 2016) I attended the Lights on the Hill Memorial Convoy at Gatton QLD, an event in memorial for truck and bus drivers that are killed on our roa...
Share for those that love the sound of a mean ass truck. Video not mine, credit to dirtbike125r
500hp n14 cummins with no mufflers and rolling on the jake
you know your truck sounds shit when you like the sound of the jake break
Heh, not just the jake sound, but what's wrong with jakes?
i dont get what you americans like so much about them, its not the sound of power, its just a banging.
Someone must live near a highway
and no i dont, i live in the uk, 50 miles from my nearest motorway
It's quite literally the sound of power, and the engine managing that power in a fascinating way
But cool
👌
its not, its the sound of resistance, not power
resistance of gasses, not how much power it can create with an explosion, just resistance
thats power
It's fine though. You're entirely entitled to not like the sound of jakes
I respect that lol
I love Scanias. Awesome trucks.
Are you trying to say american trucks don't make power
Now I'm just being trolled

well, on average they dont actually make as much as eu 🤷
Lol, sure man.
we can goto figures if you like 😄
It's not a competition, regardless
Both truck cultures are quite unique
AUS trucking culture is also quite cool
one is prehistoric, the other is modern
Lol, you're entitled to your opinion. 😃
kenworth only goto 510hp right?
LOL
or 680?
go on, tell me
literally, i cant find any specs on american truck engines
the CAT C15 goes up to 625hp from what I know
C15 ships out up to 580 stock I think
the Volvo D16 and Scania DC16 go above 700hp in the highest spec
i see figures for 600hp in 9900i whatever they are 😄
but thats still nothing compared to eu
it's on par with 15 year old top of the line EU trucks
Lol, arguing about HP values in stock engines from factory
yep
Scania stronk
i mean, theres no point in going to modded powers, as that is completely aftermarket. thats like saying a nissan gtr is the fastest car in the world, its not. but you can make it one
Not really an argument between US and EU trucks. Two very different histories and, really, workloads.
But cool. Some EU trucks may have a higher stock HP output from the factory. What is your point about that?
Stock from the factory, some do. Sure
😄
Most euro trucks are not Scania 730s or even 620s
nope, and most us trucks arent near the topline either
Nope
Most common engine you see in fleet trucks nowadays
405-510hp configs
Not much power needed for hauling dry vans down flat highways
When you get into heavy or off road hauling, you start seeing a lot of tuned out Western Stars, etc
glad you are now aware of this....
😉
and then you look at highway trucks in Australia and they tend to START at 500hp and it is fairly common to see 600-700hp units on the road
Yeah, road train XD. Sometime I'm so proud with them driving that snake truck with heavy like Antonov XD
yeah, but you often see 500hp pulling single trailers
Oh yeah, I though just for road train
Me and a Kenworth T909 at the 2011 Brisbane truck show (trade show) which i attended in an official capacity. Keep in mind that I am 6ft tall.......
i am going to share a little bit of family history. Back in the 1960s/early 1970s my Grandfather's family owned a small locam trucking company (i have identified at least 7 trucks from slides)
What you see here is one of them that was on its way back from the cannery at Ballina and, after coming over the bridge over the Tweed river, was forced to take evasive action after someone parked on the side of the road decided to open their car door and step out without looking. My Grandfathers brother was driving and locked up, jackknifing and doing the damage that you see here. (He was fine btw, just a little shaken up)
They used the truck like that for a week around the local area before they had enough of a lull in business that they could get it in their workshop so my grandfather could repair it.
same truck, 1 week after it entered the workshop. My grandfather did all of the repairs and bodywork himself
https://youtu.be/EP-Ln0gESe4 straight piped Mack Sisu, this sounds more "powery" than that cummins
that's hot
the true sound of power, in my opinion, is an E9 V8 Mack
atfull throttle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVBhC7dglrg
Geno and Moko stuffing around at Yard
Meh, I prefer a roar. That superliner was just ticking away
Jollis sounded better. But imo Scania V8 wins any day
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JC84lA86b4 the museum i volunteer at, i conducted the tour for this bloke
Check out the awesome Volvo F12 for ATS Mod Review! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyzh48kUMB0 -~--~-~~-~- In this special event we visit the QLD Transp...
would love to know the story behind this XD
well they wanted to cross the river, but couldnt
that Scania is connected, via stiffbar, to the trailer in front and it still sunk
Well technically everything posted in this channel is history as it has happened in the past.
im lifting containers tommorow....
im lifting containers tommorow....
thats in the future
Okey but pictures are history though 😉
Your google is wrong
Because your Google is Finnish and could therefore possibly not be right.
Doesn't matter, Finnish is incorrect
@cosmic condor don’t backseat moderate please, we’ll deal with it.
Ok, sorry
Yeah leave it to us
Woke up to this
And about a gallon of oil missing
Either my head gasket and my rings are gone, or something fishy is going on here
Is there water in your oil?
Not that I could tell.
And it would be fine to run it on that much, atleast till you get to your yard
Coolant^
Is the oil white on the dipstick?
Nope, black as coal
Probably just the truck programmed yo do it. Doubt its big brother.
It's an idiot switch
A what?
Idiot switch.
Prevents people who ignore warning lights from destroying the engine.
Yuuup
i think you have a leaking seal then somewhere
I guess the pistons and rings have had their best time
But it won’t be fixed in it’s last year too expensive
One of the plastic hose clamps is loose
every truck accident here in my place is about broken brakes
Isuzus have gone to the next level of unmaintained trucks
Atleast there is Volvo, Scania and Man here
except for mercedes benz trucks
Isuzu's are cheap trash though, yeah?
I mean, my dad's Rodeo was reliable for a few years but I always attributed that to the Honda parts on it. (Honda Passport is the same vehicle)
Fuel food and go 😬
Nice to see more folks from 🇬🇧
Hi hi 👋🏻
Another toy truck driver I see, DAF... I thought everyone in here was finally driving proper trucks as Bambi just got a proper one but apparently not...
Daf is a mans truck it does what it says on the tin !!
what year?
@round panther 1997
i was gonna say that looks 80s...
You wouldn't be the first to say that
What’s that sticky thing poking out the floor
i assume you mean the gear lever?
Your truck? @thick cedar
they have gear leavers in america ? wow stone ages much 😛
@cosmic condor not mine, but I use it.
Cool. Can we get interior shots too?
Sure. I will be driving in about four hours.
no one wants to see inside my daf 😦
that dash is giving me OCD so much clutter and mess
should beat the shit out of him
i'll do this
JESUS christ almighty that truck is filled with crap
Aye carumba
Has ups and downs
defo not fun in london
what's the matter with it?
rip
And how did you manage to heck it up
chill out with the swearing
No offence Moh but using that emote when saying that is kinda double morale xD
There you go
but the emote itself doesn't represent a swear word
Touché
It's just crash bandicoot going woah holy 💩
the emote has the word shit in it 🤔
ill accept that
alright, back to normality here then
Trash is what happened
nope, ive moved on
still in the fleet or?
yeah its still in the fleet, that thing is a very nice truck. ive just moved to a different truck
pulls well
plus, because its an 11 plate its not bogged down by emissions crap so not strangled
for now
for ever
they dont return to older vehicles and add emissions stuff
hence why all diesels havent been called in to have adblue systems on them
whats out there is out there
you never know with legislative changes
e.g. in Leeds city centre they're planning on putting an emissions charge for anything below Euro 6 lol
guess it'll depend on where you go to and from
yeah, but they dont revisit old vehicles
old vehicles stay old
otherwise there would be thousands to modify
hundreds of thousands
I guess it depends on where the fleet will be working
e.g. if you pass a city and have to pay a charge of £50 everyday then that'll add up
luckily i dont have anything to do with places like that
you work out in the sticks don't you?
country side is bliss
thought as much hah
yeah, goto scottish cities
He's a bit older now so he gone from a toy truck to a proper truck you know Moh! xD
but never to london
driving in London as a HGV driver seems like a nightmare
Think as long as you make sure to keep breathing it'll be just fine and just ignore the stress around you
cyclists would be my biggest fear in a major city like london
Ah yeah the blind spots are insane and you can sure hide a lot in them so they are in quite a danger yeah
😄
Bambi literally just downgraded
i would be cyclists biggest fear 😄 honestly i think i would just end up getting annoyed with a lot of motorists trying to cut me off and such. end up road raging to fcuk
if only you were getting paid hourly 😄
Brits roadraging is something golden
i am 😄
no, people doing stupid things would get me angry
I honestly wouldnt give a heck if i was stuck on a traffic jam on hourly wahe
Wah
Wage
making me break more than i should
@queen brook I won't ask you again
and just thinking they own the road
🕵
Theres no evidence
that's some 200 IQ right there
wow, a steering wheel
if you don't get through this, you will not know what I'm talking about
Idn

Idk
i think fcuk is pushing it 😄
nothing
Ok
I'm pretty sure using words like that to substitute for a swear word isn't allowed.............
No???
I'll find out later
😅
But frenchconnectionuk is an legit thing
I lmaod loudly bimbo
I'm well aware, but its very obviously not used in that context now, is it?
it is
Hopefully i didnt wake everyone up
uh-huh
yeah, you can get all kinds of fcuk stuff
Can you send some fcuk my way
this is clearly not related to real life trucking anymore
Ok for real now
it is,
I appreciate you're being smart, but really, you're pushing your luck
@serene mason problem?
@queen brook yes
useless tagging?
Too fast and didn't keep enough of a distance to the vehicle ahead I see
Actually just the distance bit. We were only doing 15 mph in bumper to bumper traffic
@stiff sand yeah its an 18 speed eaton fuller mated to an N14 cummins
The old days 😃 The worst I get is Scalia 3/3/3
@civic patrol tell me you do fuller clutchless
Take cover!
DAF ❤
WMAS?
Happens all the time on that bridge but never seen one flipped like that
(West Midlands Ambulance Service)
How does that happen?
Not looking at the height signs
But flipping over I mean
I’ve never seen one flipped like that on its side before
Not a
😢
Imagine walking under the bridge then that happens 😂😂
Oh god
Plus the truck has managed to get itself facing on the wrong way😂
😮
@queen brook nope it has a clutch
Were you asking him if he floats gears? or if his truck has a clutch? lmao
Better be really good at floating those gears, or your company is going to be spending a lot of money of that transmission
;P
Today’s truck
(excessive save editing)

🤔🤨
noxxi doesnt notice excessive save editing even if its shoved in her face
Kiddo? That's a lot coming from you. And ofcourse not.
No more Scania these days, eh Jolli?
Sisuuu
I find those trucks quirky and cyoot
They're a trashcan on wheels though 🤷
Bad provo, you should try again
lol
who?
That'll stop her from movin!
the guy at the precast plant always knows best, without that one nail the 32ton piece of precast wouldve been in a ditch
Ruining a good skid aswell...
honestly the prick thinks he knows it all, or maybe wants to prove me wrong cos of my age? either way whatever way i say i want it loaded when i go in, "pfft hahah yeah right, we'll load it how we see fit"
yeah, cos you arent just some twat who operates an overhead crane in a precast plant
