@iron bone Soooo... After fiddling around, these are the issues i've noticed
Other than zero character sound during human additions (Dragoon additions worked fine), NO HEALING ITEMS CAN BE USED IN BATTLE, the items disappear from the menu (Wasn't able to test angels prayer cause nothing killed my guys where i'm at), but after combat they are present, note not sure if bug or dumb luck but running away from combat seems reliable again. Icons also changed for custom stuff to swords.
Dragoon and item spells seem to work fine, and only tested two repeat items which are still present
I think the usage location is wrong somewhere I will take a look.
I fixed an issue on main where they didn't show up if you were at full health

zone 1 ultimate bosses gave 700 gold, zone 2 gave 1k gold and 3k exp

Weird because I beat Commander in the first zone where I teleport in, and it gave me no exp or gold

Audio file still missing during human additions, BUT healing items popped back up
Testing the repeat items and dragoon forms now
Repeat items i tested were still available after the fight, in battle items are stacked, but not in main menu after combat
Dragoon additions were working properly sound and mechanically, healing items healed properly
So as far as I can see atm just human addition audio bug left

So I've encountered an issue, it might be already known but after each battle and reload/ rebooting, it seems to reset the item count back to 32. Is there a fix for this or just need to manually rechange it afterwards?

Also, just as an FYI for everyone.
I figured out that if you start a new game on Hell Mode beta. Save. Then copy the whole save folder, I.E "new_campaign" to normal devbuld, you can then use the debug menu to change all the bits you want, add members, items etc, then copy that folder back to Hell Mode build and it'll work with Hell Mode enabled.
Only just testing this so not sure if/ what bugs this may cause. Shall update as I go. Xx

Yeah, honestly I was purely curious if this would work. Seems to be running fine, as mentioned above, the only bug seems to be the item cap resetting after battles, reloading/ rebooting but unsure if that's the Hell Mode build or the save swapping which is why I was asking about that. XD. Xx

One other. Have noticed some damage numbers are replicated above with a darker coloured damage number. 90% of the time it's same number (14 damage, above it 14 in a darkerr yellow) Unsure if it's intentional. I havent been able to get a screen grab. I think the problem only occured after I messed around with game speed.
Combat only Zerakue. It's not game breaking or anything.

It should say all magic attacks*. The ultimate weapon allows the physical attack to count towards siphon.
Siphon when the bar reaches max allows you to use Siphon overflow which then allows the next attack to add Rose's Max HP to base damage of the attack before any multipliers. This will only apply to the first enemy that is hit in a multi target attack.
Ahhhh so does it scale with her healing ability?
Since it sounds like it increases the BASE value before dmg modifier, wasn't sure if the base value being increased would also juice the heals

Ok, it's clearly a feature im not understanding... What is the Brown/Yellow number above the normal damage numbers represent. I can't find anything about it in the Readme

You can have 50 potions and 50 Angels Prayers and the game sees it as 2 items if you raise the item stack count.
112 damage, 66 damage to shield
112 - 66 damage to real HP

Also... Elemental arrows are... hard to get/expensive for what they do/the power you get out of it. We have enough inventory at 32 to justify carrying normal items for bosses.
I get about double the damage of Shanas normal attack when exploiting weaknesses and multi at 240%. It's somewhat cheaper and just as efficient in damage to dragoon up, fire, pop out, and recharge the dragoon turn
they aren't supposed to be used 100% of the time
I understand that... but that means i'll be saving it for bosses... which I wont use them for because real items are incredibly more effective making these elemental arrows slightly... slightly... useful if you run out of real attack items. So they just sit there... unused... yet need to be grinded at certain areas to get.
I love the idea... it's just unlike everyone elses special mechanics, it doesnt seem to actually have any use. If i want to conserve items i wont use them... if i need something dead i use something else

If they arent supposed to be super powerful then they need to be abundant... if they arent abundant then they need to be powerful... they are neither powerful nor abundant

I don't think Volcano Villude has triple monster configurations so that is another problem of the low drop rate.
Even if I got 99 of them, i'd still be using burnouts over the arrows due to them not doing enough. Thats the concern, not enough of them to use them all the time, not powerful enough to use them instead of items... they just... collect dust
Concept is 10/10 though...
If you were to make them repeatable/dropped from bosses or purchasable and slightly more potent than a normal attack if element is exploited... then you have Shana gaining tools to keep her basic attack weak... but still relevant... as the game goes on...
If you make them more powerful, leave them rare, then players can then grind them as an alternatove to attack items, allowing them to circumvent the item cap

I'd actually suggest the opposite...Shana atm is doing about 55 for me. Elem arrow hits for 120 if its correct element for extra damage... Scale it "Down" to 70, give her Fire from beating Fire bird... permamnent... give her Wind from Feyrbrand, Water from Regole... She still wont hit as hard as the rest of the team... but it gives her something unique, makes her basic attack a reason other than just sp and keeps her "Growing" as the game progresses.

What if you get 1 arrow per 100 sp gain. Arrow type depends on last mobs element that was hit.
If people want to farm they can go out of their way to just like with levels or additions. Or sliding scale where 1st-3rd arrows are 100 sp each in a battle, next 3 arrows in the same battle is 250 sp...etc.
But not sure if that makes it useful to get same element

Simplest answer would be exactly as it is currently but instead of costing fire arrows it costs the magic and lasts booned to her for the battle... 1x Burnout gives her lesser burnout for the fight...

Don't need to change the math... or the drop rates or anything else... just... make the arrows last the full fight but cost the actual item... done...

I grinded for them for 2 hours and got 12 Fire Arrows...
I went through Dragon Nest naturally and gained none.
That two hours gives me 12 attacks of "Less than Lavitz Rod typhoon damage" and only when used against specific enemies weak to it.
Alternatively... I bought ten pellets, plus other things for the amount of Gold I earned for that grinding.
Are you going over "32" total items because of the item stacks bug?
Nope... I ran into Fey/Greham with 10 Pellets, 4 Sun Rhaps, 6 HPots, 5 Angels Prayers, 3 Burn Outs, 1 Spark Net, 1 Healing Breeze, 1 Mag Sig Stone, 1 free item slot.
Shana used 6 Pellets the whole fight... I used 4 Potions and 1 Sun Rhaps all up...
Even if I had earth arrows... Shana never had a turn to use the arrows because she was tossing items. After Feybrand went down I didn't even use pellets. I'd just regular attack and then dragoon up to get the damage on her normal D-Atttack.
I literally never had a turn where I would have used the arrows... I had just... other more effective options...

It's for mods to add items that can stack in the inventory without counting towards the limit
Like small things that would be extremely annoying if your inv was full of them

I know, just lock the option for adjusting retail stack size
Zychronix... a quick and easy fix is to just lock the item stack count to 1

Also if you're gonna farm the 00parts, my fastest strat was use haschel with shana for it, give shana all the speed items and accuracy boosters, cause she deals 2 dmg per hit unlike anyone else but i think she needs to be above lv 11 or 13 for it to work?

Solo, the only person I had who could fight him, was Dart... and Dart only dealt about 1k damage

but yea, he took FOREVER to kill, and dart had to do it because uh... the counter attack he would launch occasionally dealt 5.5k to him after final boost, and he could then follow up with another 3.5k hit

*If two of the elements are the same while in Elemental Cooldown those elements will be increased by XX% and the other element will be decreased by XX%, causing no Elemental Exhaustion. The Elemental Cooldown elements will replace the Elemental Field and it will activate again.
Question after skimming the read me, alot of it is variances of using xyz elements, different effects if 2, or all 3 to make the field
In hell mode won't most people use all three of the same weakness for elemental weakness targetting? So odds of the first two fields being used are greatly lower
I do like how she can give bonuses to stuff like burn stacks... that can be an entirely different role for her

Delete any folder you currently have and just use this version for now.

I’ve explained a few times, but Charm potions prevent non-boss flagged enemies from attacking you, 00 Parts is not boss flagged and thus cant attack, unlike other special enemies, 00 parts doesnt have a run away action, he has two attacks, one of which carries a run away action as part of it, since charm potion prevents him from attacking the character it is used on, if all active party members have a charm potion used on them, 00 parts is forced to sit there
And since charm potions are used on the player, not the enemy, they wear off after 3 of that character’s turn, NOT 3 enemy turns, making it so you have several chances to attack per character under the effect of a charm potion, rather than the very short duration of the magic sig stone
The strat gets stronger if you only use Miranda or Shana, with a long bow
Since they become very reliable with just that, and can use the talisman to prevent instant death

Didn't someone say i can load up dramod, start a game, save, exit game, copy save file to normal severed chains, add whoever I want to my party, save, transfer save file back to dramod, reload again, and I can start dramod with a full party at level 1?

Zerakue... If you don't mind being Over Leveled, you can load a Map that has a party change and they will be added. For example, using the Game state editor to load the map before Melbu, the Cutscene with Lloyd plays, the party gets rebuilt, and you get given Divine Dragoon and Dragon Buster, then you can load back to your old map with everyone in the party.
Otherwise, F12s Game editor can also allow you to edit values and add them in

Being overleveled wouldn't be my ideal situation, i'd wanna enforce my own restrictions such as no shop purchases other than maybe 1 per disk kinda deal, especially so if i'm gaining a character prematurely

Note: When you get to Hoax, the battles between Dart/Lavitz get reset consistently. I think you may have to use the debugger between each fight without opeening the menu between fights to check if you've done it right. So it may be easier to just brute force through those three fights with Dart and Lav

Mainly cause when grinding additions without cheating caugh caugh You need to deal over 240 dmg per turn of the crystal golem else you end up not doing enough and a fight can easily last over half an hour
Since the additions in hell mode are back loaded, they do less than half dmg if you fail to finish a perfect human addition, so losing half your dmg HURTS when that wanker can heal for days
The old one that was stronger than Fruegel 1 and could 1 hit KO Lavitz when it was in red 💀

Ok so an update on using hell mode game and editing by transferring to normal SC and back again.
All work, haven't encountered any glitches, however if you edited party members in, each time a member swaps out (like say for instance, you have Meru in your part in disk 1, after the Hero Comp) you then have to save and retransffer over to normal SC to add her back in, then transfer back to HM. Xx
Game debugger let's you add her back in each time without needing to do that, only issue is cannot easily modify her without remembering what items you had until you get her natively
You need to adjust each char's party flags in order to make them stay
What're party flags?

Some are shields on certain bosses, others are mechanics on dart such as hits burn stacks, or lavits wind stacks

You may be using the wrong build.
Severed Chains 3.0 has been split into multiple builds.
Zychronix has his own Severed Chain download that you install that has Hell Mode in it. Until the mod is complete, Hell Mode will be using this seperate build
Keep in mind the Gamestate opens in it's own popup window and will only pop up when there is a game state to actually edit. e.g - wont appear on main title screen

No... Item stacks are how many items can you have before it needs to take up a second slot. Meaning if Item stack is set to 10... and you have 8 potions, the 8 potions only count as one inventory slot. Setting item stack to 1 means every potion will take up its own item slot. 32 potions = 32 items in inventory

Correct, but severed chains allows you to increase the item stack. This is a function added for mods and things to make use of.
Hell Mode is supposed to be a difficulty mod, so to prevent people circumventing the inventory limit, Zychronix has forced that function to be locked
It's in base SC. Unless you play around with it, you won't really find/notice it

Power up, Power Down, while doing Final Burst twice to the other Berserker and the Piggy in the middle so I can gain 3 burn stacks from both. So I used 6 burn stacks dragon attack with both Power items and Firebrand as well and Ring of Power increasing my attack by 60.

Most will break the game with how strong they are.
Fair warning, getting the Elemental Arrow Equip for Shana will break a lot of the game over your knee

Different parties certainly handle things differently.
Albert and Kongol is a very brute force party.
If you want to have a bit of fun, throw a Healing Ring and a magic hat on Meru and enjoy being able to abuse her Dragoon magic.

I'm a fan of Haschel with Speed equips.
His Lightning Charge build up will build in human form and with speed equips, he gets enough turns to make use of it

I started a campaign with enrage on, but it was too hard. I kept dying constantly to non-boss mobs. When I turn it off, enrage just keeps turning itself back on. Do I need to start a brand new campaign with it off from the beginning?

Fun little side effect i've found...
Ink's Irongoon "Stock" settings for stats overide "SOME" but not all values in Dra Mod Hard mode.
The first Hellana soldiers were definitely not Hell Mode but were harder than retail... Dragoons have standard retail percentages on their stats.
I havent documented anything else with certainty but it is definitly creating funny results
Dart was taking 43 from a spark net while lavitz took 39 despite dart's MDF value being 1 point higher...
Hell Mode+ is the default for new Hell Mode. You can drop down to Hard+Hell Mode in the next beta update but Enrage will still be active.

Does anyone know what would cause less sp gain? Double slash is giving 18 sp instead of 35 sp. Using battle rewards and dragoon modifier mods. I cannot see any options in settings that affect sp gains.
Hell Mode has 50% SP gain.

Well DraMod loads everything before you can even turn off DraMod. With Hell Mode only existing that is half of the problem.

If I was reading everything correctly, Dramod had difficulties attached to it.
Downloading this from the github was missing the launch bat file and a few other things from what I can tell because I tried getting it to run multiple ways and it would not run whatsoever. I don't have the exact wording on why since I am still at work
So I was looking for all of the extra stuff added for Dramod but just on the retail difficulty lol
It says you can drag and drop into the mod folder but game still doesnt pick up the mod. I also went and grabbed 2.1 which i believe was the most recent depreciated version but it was also missing things as well from what I could tell.
Also this is where I was mentioning that it didn't have a launcher because I assumed this was the custom offshoot to support it in the first place
Disclaimer - I work 14 hour shifts so I am half asleep 90% of the time so it's entirely possible I'm just dumb and missed something lmfao
95% of the extra stuff in dramod only turns on when you don't select a normal difficulty.
the only version being worked on at the moment is the custom version for hell mode and when that is done the rest will be available
@naive sail as Zychronix said, most of the special dramod features are only available in hard/hell mode. There is an old version of dramod available for SC 2.1 that has hard mode. The current beta test for SC 3.0 only has hell mode and hard mode will be added later. For the 2.1 version, you just drop the mod into the mods folder. For the 3.0 beta test, you need a special build of SC because there are features it needs that aren't in the main build yet

Good evening! I've just joined this community before. For starters, I'm just gonna ask if I need this modifier if I decided to play the original Japanese version with, for example, English subtitles. Because that version looked mostly pleasantly harder so far. It's been a long time since I last played the PAL version of this game. Many opponents I felt should have been much tougher were a cakewalk in this version, unfortunately.
There's "Japanese Undubbed", I believe. But I couldn't catch the guy playing saying whether it's the Japanese difficulty balancing, or not.
As far as I'm aware... the japanese version is harder than the NA/PAL version, but easier than Dragoon Modifier's Hard mode. (NA->Japan->Hard->>Hard + Hell Bosses-->>>Hell)...
unsure if you can play it with the japanese version.
If you want to play the undub patch on emulator the emulator version of dramod will work
But you need na copy and jp version for the patcher if i remember correctly

If Hell Mode doesn't just require endlessly more grinding for stat boosts, I might consider it. I have to think, because I still have my old PS1 PAL version here across 4 CD's. I just remember many hyped-up opponents being too easy to beat.

Wait, does that mean Hell Mode is actually finished and not in Beta anymore? I get that some or most of the stuff you've done is in a Beta phase, but one finished bug- and crash-free difficult playthrough of the original game sounds worth playing again.
It’s still a beta, Zychronix still needs feedback and bug reports to make sure everything is functioning properly, it is playable but may not be representative of the final version

I had Sapphire Pin on rose, but it seemed to not proc almost at all. Only on the earth attack? All he does is magic.
A few things
Don’t use Rose lol, she gets shattered by the light attacks
Have Lavitz/Albert with his elemental weapon and keep specialing with quadruple physical damage
Having Shana/Miranda is recommended due to her resistance of light attacks
Otherwise, magical defence and physical attack is top priority
Spiritual ring can be pretty good, physical ring is very good as well, , angel robe and holy ankh as well for 40% revive, if you use both one however it’s capped to 60%

Hell Mode forces you to keep elemental weaknesses/strengths in mind, otherwise you’ll end up going to level 50 or something so rose doesn’t die from those attacks

No, dragon block staff now does 20% dragoon power reduction, no longer 2000%
interesting, so you can pretty much just dragoon as much as you want and not worry about it

How hard is hell mode
definitely a huge boost i ndifficulty compared to normal. also much different game with buffs/nerfs to certain characters. (and gear too i think?)
After seeing that people aren't like omega grinding through the discs
I've decided to move all additional content to disc 4.
So disc 4 will be the longest with a new level cap.

uh... for the new save stuff i will create a converter from the dramod save file when it loads and it will just sit in your main SC save.

they go into your inventory then you press up to access the secondary battle menu and they will be used up like ammo

when he is low he casts powerful aoe water/thunder
i wouldve used haschel but the fight seemed to magic based for his thunder ele to be worth it imo
his water would oneshot my haschel and it seems 50/50 whether he aoe's water or thunder

then we have magic clones with water rays and self destruct
yes they water ray/self destruct, and when they are active the kraken aoes water/thunder to the party
now is the self destruct fire element or something else

idk he seemed more random than any boss so far i think, like he could summon cleones and/or one shot my party at any point in time, atleast below 60% (he has 66666 hp so below 39999). prob more frustrating than lenus/regole because i felt like i could atleast somewhat predict what they'd do

i feel a bit silly for asking but I cant seem to add everyone at level 1. im right at the first moment you can control dart but im only seeing level sync, remove second/third slot, and swap all dragoons

Question about editing tables on equipment (equip stats csv) I've updated text box descriptions on certain items, and that reflects in game accurately. I've tried renaming items (i.e. Bandit's Shoes > Dragoon Greaves) saved the table like normal, but in-game item is still called Bandit's Shoes. Is renaming equipment not possible?

did you change the registry id? you should be able to rename items as long as you don't change the registry id

I believe ive got gradle, intellij, and the jdk set up right but when i try to run the dramod repo it fails to compile classes. also no rush i know it's the holidays
You need to clone SC and run the gradle task publishToMavenLocal
Note you need to use Zychronix's branch of SC

I left the registry the same, in case I wanted to add items to certain shops later. In-game name of item still remained the same

I didn't put in the ez recompile for hell mode beta. It will be in the full release.
Every time DraMod is starts it will update the LANG files. This is not in the beta release.

Another question. In regards to the Angel Robe+Holy Ankh combo, the tables show 40 revive and 40 status chance per item, meaning the understood 80% chance to revive automatically. I put all four values to 50 to test if you'd be immortal. After a few deaths, I still got a game over.
Are the true values not able to be adjusted, or is there maybe a limit to the number of revives in one battle?
Hell mode auto adjusts revive change to cap at 60%
It's why I don't recommend people editing hard and hell mode datasets because it has so much of my specific things in it. You'll be able to make your own like in the older versions.
So it's hard-coded now for this build of hell mode, or permanently for hell mode?

Guess I just had to learn what "smart app control" is, and nuked it. anyone else having this pop up with the mod? Or did you already nuke the security stuff before? Its some weird option that can never be reactivated other than doing a complete windows reinstall
You downloaded the zip file from the github page and ran launch.bat (I am assuming you are on windows)

I can assure you I did not, this is a normal windows function that pretty much just says "No" if you want to open a downloaded exe of bat from an untrusted source. I doubt windows knows about this app, even less so this beta. But don't worry about it, I mainly wrote this to inform you it might happen to others who wanna install this.
bit of a softlock in the valley of distored gravity. some rocks un render and make back tracking impossible. a jump on ! appears but the rock is unrendered and does not move.

how do you play around bosses getting their turn ahead of the tracker? specifically lenus' fight in fletz castle. feels like if i hit a damage gate she gets her turn, then does a physical attack and a magic attack in one action
Do you transform into dragoon?
If yes, that's the issue, Lenus has a special thing where she kinda go berserk if you have dragoons on your side, better keep yourself from transforming until you're ready to quickly burst and finish her
