I've been pretty curseless, aside from one save being bricked to a black screen when saving on a teleporter in Forbidden something (wingly place)

It does an enhanced elemental attack or something like that

It's the pinned message : Kamuy and Polter Armor may be harder than expected when first encountering them. Completing the Kamuy quest gives you 5x the 5x amount.
I think Albert, more than any character I've tried, begs to be in Dragoon at all times. I find myself forcing Meru/Miranda/Haschel all out of Dragoon after one cast/attack to keep item options available, but Albert has one job, and it's to make sure he never goes down (lose special field) and does damage, because it's kind of his only job. Exiting early just doesn't work for him, and since he is innately slow-ish, rebuilding dragoon is already the toughest part of every fight. The prospect of doing colossal damage but exiting early "feels" contrary to what is making Albert work.
So to summarize
Dart - everybody loves dart
Lavitz/Albert - everybody loves Lavitz/Albert
Shana - ??? heal bot for people 🤨 . no one mentions the arrow drop rates (too low?)
Rose - queen
Haschel - charges up too slow (lack of aoe I guess in single target), also gets additions too slow. meanwhile lavitz and rose are EATING
Meru - same problem with Haschel, no one has problems with ice shield,
KonGOON - no one likes using him because of MDF (he was only dying by wind magic 4 me). counterstance only for specific play style in bosses.

So the hard/hell mode on emulator with "earlier" additions the master addition actually wouldn't unlock until you were at a certain level with all additions maxed.

Syuveil was ok (thanks Kongol earth axe) but needed a few tries because of him dodging
Kanzas was annoying but ok, playing with %evade accessory is strong since he do only single target
Belzac was a pain because he could spam multi target spell and his dragon magic spell hit like a truck

It felt almost impossible to reach special
You get the magic signet stone quite early
So it's pretty free for most of the random encounters
You rarely encounter more than 2 enemies
So you stunlock 1 for 3 turn, you burst the other one
The only threat in random encounters in disc 1 IMO is the multi target magic they can use when in red health
Like the merman in the marsh or the flower thing in the dragon nest
Yes, it was very very messy and it took a lot of tries (which I resorted using the +speed/fast forward feature which I was only using during grinding). It all came to pure luck on whether Miranda would rez from Angel robe...... every turn.

Heyy there. Couple questions. One of the new additions to the beta was dragoon item magic. When is that unlocked if I may ask? And also, i noticed with the beta when i go to spam the throw items with my controller. which is the A button since im using a xbox controller, I can only seem to get up to about the 130% range. Is this a issue with me or possible something else? Thanks again.
It depends of the character, most of them unlock them Dlvl 3 or 4 I think

hell mode locks inventory size because it is behind additional content. you'll have to use debug menu to get it back or a previous save.

The funny thing at not having Miranda at the team, is every time the game reset party flag, it kicks out Shana from party and replace her with Dart, leaving you without Shana and Miranda, so...

He felt really fair - stun had me in dragoon form 60% of the time, so I could ignore it for the most part, his aoe attacks did way less damage than Regole's, and he wasn't as fast (or didn't do the insta turn as much as other bosses)

It took me 29 Xp-Fausts to get 60 (I think? Because once you hit 60 the kill counter sets to 1000). I ended up deciding to buy Ouroboros instead of Meru's ultimate weapon.... and with it Real Faust was a literal joke. I did 51k in Albert special with Power up/down per attack. He died on Albert's 4th turn in the fight.... Someone said Real Faust was meant to be fought at 60 >:[

Heya guys! I know it might be asking a lot, but does anyone have a guide to Dragoon Modifier? I got it up and running with help from ChatGPT, but Chat's knowlege on what it can do it...spotty at best. Like it was telling me I can change statuses and stats, and add/remove items from inventory, but I think it was talking out its digital backside.
Do you want to use it to create mods or play the mods created with it (currently only hell mode is available in a beta)
More trying to understand the enhancements listed in the existing 3.5.5 version. Like the Early Additions and Addition Level up. Neither seemed to be doing anything when toggled on.
Early additions shifts when the characters unlock their additions. It is made in a way so that you can play the game with all characters at level 1.
Addition level up just means your additions will automatically level up in battle if it meets the requirements.

And No Dart mode, I'm guessing requires you to be at a place where Dart isn't the only available character.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with playing the hell mode on a mac. I downloaded version 3.0 a few weeks ago, and everything worked well, but when I download this, the Launch file defaults to open with textedit instead of the terminal, but even if I run it with the terminal, its not doing anything

If an enemy has like 1 HP of shield and you do 100 damage (example), I think is not fair to only delete the shield and not do also damage besides that
Because the bosses have like too many HP and it's hard to deplete it, specially at the beginning, when you don't have many tools to do great damage

if you have 5000 (1000) hp and do 1250 damage you'll end up with 4750 hp left..

what your editing might be a hard coded value in dramod. you can edit some things but it is not recommended to edit hard/hell mode datasets. if you want something custom you'll have to wait for full release.

so for haschels mechanic. I store thunder charges by doing additions and d attacks. I use D spark net or other D magic to transfer all of my charges to an opponent, and then D spark net again to do big damage when theyre at a max of 10 charges? Can also use any thunder attack item with anyone to inflict thunder charges?
yes you can use thunder attack items on other characters
even enemies will self apply thunder charges when they used thunder based attacks

playing through hellmode beta for the first time ever, and have had a fun, if terribly frustrating at times, experience. i enjoy the challenge overall, though the fact some random mobs out in the field are just not ever worth fighting was tough to learn, if easy to solve. have struggled the most with urobolus, greham/feyrbrand (i had two attempts on this one where one boss was dead and the other had been in the red for 3 turns, but ultimately i lost. exhilirating to finally beat, though.), and currently facing doel for the past day and a half.
my understanding is it's completely random what move he chooses to use, so when he does his hyper damage one multiple times in a row i've learned it's pretty much game over immediately. in my best attempt I got him to the red, but I do feel like that was just good rng of him not using that one move over and over again, and once he did so i lost very suddenly.
overall really enjoying it, but man doel is actually just kicking my ass. maybe he deserves to be emperor lol

can't speak for anyone else but i just brute forced it through many, many attempts. never missing additions, using my spirit potions and mana items on dart to build burn stacks to do big magic hits, and praying doel doesn't destroy me with mass aoe over and over again.
dart was level 3 dragoon, but that's just cause i was using his 4th addition for so long throughout act 1 that he was just miles ahead of everyone else sp wise. definitely the toughest fight i've had

Not sure if this is retail or not but.... fighting the last Super Virage, I defeated the arm with Dart, then I used Albert's D-Attack and after that, the Virage's Arm came back but it's not selectable and doesn't show up in the turn order.

I'm not sure if this is a DraMod or just base SC thing (or if I'm just being dumb and doing something wrong xD) but whenever I go to change some of the settings like elemental bomb/enrage or item total limits, the settings never stay. Like I'll set them while walking around in game, go into a fight, and whatever I set is gone and back to default.
(lesser problem, I also have to reselect the exact same sound setting I have too whenever I boot it up before I'll actually have in game sound)

I think there's a bug with kongol's stance change and speed up. If i use a speed up and then enter the stance, when stance ends kongol has the speed up buff permanently (I think)

I remember there being a lot of things like stat-adjustments for party members and Dragoon attacks (since the later additions would otherwise just straight-up outdamage Dragoon attacks) and the ability to manually cancel out of transformation early.
Are these things still part of the DraMod applicable to Severed Chains? Or is this currently in the Hell build only? The LoD website has the link to the stable build (I believe), but I've seen a mention on the Github to download the devbuild instead and it's making me a tad confused, whether the beta dev build is actually the Hell mode or another different thing entirely.
Yeah they give it to the person who you are giving it too. I am using the wrong variable for the selected character. You can see the shield icon pop up on the next turn.
It's only hell mode for now during the testing phase.. but the features will be ported to hard mode. Some other customizable options will be available for all modes.

I'm almost done with my recent distraction (upscale) and will work on to update hell mode beta to latest dev build with bug fixes and the remaining hell/hard mode content.

kongol is going from 30 to 33, lavitz from 40 to 43 and albert with a bandits ring is on 57, according to the combat debugger. There was something about the slow characters not getting the full effect of speed items, right? is it that?
albert with just a bandit's ring is 53, for example
kongol and lavitz/albert have speed reduction
lavitz with ring is hitting 60 for me
in debugger he doesn't not enough mod events to be that grainular for me
