So jumping back a bit, formula e teams don't need the Motorsport budget to design an F1 fast kinda car, because it's a spec chassis. Spark designs and validates the designs, which is where the F1 budget goes.

The teams just bring freaky motor armature designs and suspension

Quite funny how all open wheeler teams outside of F1 operate

In F1, all tesms are legally required for both drivers to drive the car with the same livery
Which is what held back BAR back in 1999 from having two different sponsor cars

However, outside of F1, all other open wheel classes seem to operate on the rule of basics

Essentially, make the team be separated
And if the driver is part of a driver academy, give them that F1 team's livery
if not, give them their major sponsor's livery
And if not, give them their team's own basic livery

It frankly feels like you cannot make it to F1 using F4, F3, F2 and FE steps if you don't have some sort of major sponsor

Wildly, the biggest issue with those was they were ugly, and that stupid touch screen temperature control

They just had no direction, as did no car maker during that period when they made EVs

EVs at first became a trend with nobody understanding how to actually make a good one

Nowadays, we actually see good examples of EVs, which is a testament

This was quite interesting by the way. I didn't think there could be such a massive split in the middle for no apparent reason, but it sure worked out in an odd way

I suppose it hurt CART and meant it couldn't really keep upw ith F1's popuilarity

I gotta say I wasn't ever the biggest fan of the previous LMH, but this actually looks really good

i quite liked the 21-22 toyota,but its one of my favorites to drive in GT7 so maybe im biased

it defined this generation of what i can describe as tall hood prototypes by winning twice in a row

The Toyota LMH car looked a bit too similar to the previos LMP1 cars

What with the tallheadlights

it's not a bad looking car, just not as interesting as the rest

Not when sleeker looking designs like the Cadillac and Ferrari are around

But this new one? THis is everything I wanted

Toyota seems to be coming after Ferrari directly with that design, given how much it looks like the 499P

Fair enough, I never hated the previous LMP1s either

But they did become a little too similar between brands

What with Porsche, Audi and Toyota primarily, all looking quite similar

It shows the primary difference in the idealogy of LMH and LMP1

LMH to LMP1 is like the 2026 regulations to the 2025 regulations of F1

Slower, less refined a bit, but also cheaper, more versatile and also still imperfect with room for movement

And also a more equal playing field

Where the LMP1 designs had been perfected to such a degree that there was very little in terms of design changes between cars, as there was very little between every 2025 F1 car

yes, cheaper helps a ton with small teams and with interesting manufacturers to join WEC

There will be more versatility and originality between every LMH and 2026 F1 car

And they are already lucky they have some budget to be able to even enter Rally 2

We'd finally see the glory of Lancia's return to the top of the field

and also, why is WRC of the past decade forcing hatchback designs and limiting creativity so fucking hard

we used to have sedans, coupes or hatchbacks, all allowed in the same category

it's always been odd to me as well how despite the much wider range of possible cars to use for Rally, they still are limited to car makers which make some sort of c-segment hatchback
Which guess what, there aren't that many left anymore, hence why we get a Puma rally car than a Focus rally car

Everyones simulations in practice were close, it might all come down to holding the cars together through the Peraltada. some of them were exiting that corner around 140mph, which feels insane with ultra low downforce cars

I watched the first race and I’m still getting to grasp with the rules, but to me his performance so far looks quite reserved and not too remarkable

That is of course a given, but then again Toyota wants him in Super Formula by next year

My debut weekend is now completed!

I started the first race of the day from 18th and after some good battles and time penalties for couple of drivers I finished up in P13.
For the weekends feature race I qualified 9th, but unfortunately my race ended already on the first lap...

The wing survived, Buemi rejoined very last. He still ended up on target for a podium, he was on FIRE all weekend. Got a puncture and ended up last 😢

In the onboard replay you can see he's just staring in the mirror for too long and brakes late. Taylor Barnard got a much better start and was going for the move down the inside.
