  • What is, "this machine"? describe it
  • What is it supposed to do other than "finding WiFi networks"
  • That's an android OS, so if it's not revealed through the settings, you're very much on your own other than reading whatever source code/documentation that came with, "this machine".

A freaking proprietary device intended for being a sound interface and modeler/mixer?

queen zephyr
#

yes it is a guitar multi-effects

haughty karma
#

So a C$2500 piece of equipment.

queen zephyr
#

👍

haughty karma
#

Yeah. Umm.. You're crazy? And good luck with... Whatever... you're trying to do.

I of course thought of making a copy of the SD card for security so I have a second one

haughty karma
#

I'm sure the SD card doesn't run that thing's OS.

#

So, yeah, as rain said. You're on your own with stuff like this.

queen zephyr
#

the whole system is on the sd card
I just need help to modify some files

There's two different types of WiFi networks, especially in Unix-like contexts, which includes Linux. One is ad-hoc network, and the other is master/access point network. If it has it's own WiFi network, it can be either one or the other. However, this is a proprietary software, so whatever that vendor didn't disclose, you have either the choice to ask them or poke around yourself.

The same goes with modifying the system. There's not enough information where it pulls its (text) strings from, and adjusting this, along with other things are very likely to void warranty, which I personally wouldn't want to get involved as an accessory to this.

queen zephyr
#

it is no longer under warranty

haughty karma
#

Kinda not the main point.

queen zephyr
#

I also managed to duplicate the screen of the machine via vnc

Liability factor if you want to put it that way. Hacking devices to behave in a way that it was not intended to do, by their creators, but by users' own personal preferences incurs risks of sorts. Even if you're changing languages or whatever, that is still constituted as hacking.

I think that at the price I paid for this device I can do what I want with it
It's just a device that's no longer under warranty.

haughty karma
#

Sure. YOU can do whatever. On your own. 🙂

I just wanted to find someone who perfectly masters the basics of linux to help me
