Alt and Tab still appear to respond normally on their own, but for some reason their combination now does nothing

for reasons I don't understand, trying to Alt-Tab while in terminal now does this instead

I'm temtped to try uninstalling keymapper, but am afraid of just breaking things further.

hmm..I was messing with custom shortcuts earlier, perhaps that caused it instead?
