I think that RuneScape Leagues should be used right now as a way to measure future game opportunities to help both new players and long-time veterans reach the max skilling level for all skills in RuneScape 3. I believe that by accelerating the skilling process at a rate far faster than ever before in RuneScape, we can help grow new user income and gameplay engagement.
This is primarily due to the new generation Alpha, along with Z, being more engaged with the architecture and design of modern MMORPGs, which are not based on the same outdated architecture that RuneScape was built on—RuneScape uses a system from a generation at least 20 years older than most modern MMORPGs. Generations Z and Alpha play MMORPGs differently. By accelerating the skilling process, we open up avenues for newer generations to become more involved and active with older players in RuneScape, such as Generation Y—the Millennials—which RuneScape was marketed for during the explosion of the internet, to make a more well-rounded, robust user base and experience. It will become more engaging and interesting because this generation has grown accustomed to getting things done quickly, with less manual effort. Things should be easier for them, which is why each generation shouldn't have to face the same hardships as the previous one.
