Just Group iron mode but with mains, over the past few weeks I have gotten 11 people to start playing RS3 that have never played before and somethings that these players are having trouble with are:

  1. Quests
  2. Untradable Items
  3. Untradable Items locked behind quests
  4. Time Investment

That being said, I told them that they should just do the quests to unlock the content but 9 of the 11 said they do not have time in the day to reasonably get that stuff since they want to do endgame content but are daunted by the hundreds if not thousands of hours they need to even start endgame content.

I don't think we should cater to all the players that refuse to do any content but still expect to be able to do everything

#

If they want to do content they will have to unlock it themselves

#

Or make an iron group to play with

If they're from OSRS, then they can definitely play the content, they just don't want to do the content

Still run into issue number 4. And they have never played RS before. What you are describing sounds like Gate keeping tbh. Especially from a game that has a struggling player base and retention rate. (I love Rs3 btw, i have 2 maxed mains, a maxed iron, and a almost maxed GIM)

Leads to the GIM lifestyle, if you need help that way, then do a GIM

#

And you didn't specify if they played OSRS, just RS3

Still running into issue number 4 for them.

Then it's not the game for them? All games take time to play, some less time then others. RS is a grind, that's all there is

#

Not trying to be toxic, but that's just how RS is.

Oh no worries, I didnt see it as toxic. Just like trying to get people into rs3. the more the merrier

I agree, but it's mainly the reputation it already has. Trying to come back from how RS3 started is going to be tough.

having a group storage between your main account friends is something i've found myself wanting on occasion also, i don't want all the restrictions that comes with group ironman just to access such a useful feature

Useful, but I feel like it'd have to be heavily restricted to who you pair up with.

Logistically speaking it probably doesn't make sense for totally unrestricted mains, no

I would probably prefer some kind of item mail delivery system for mains since the goal of either that or group storage is to facilitate giving your friends items while they're not online

#

the only benefit of going a more group storage-y route is possibly being able to reuse some code

Not saying that, meant people joining and leaving. Then everyone would be trading everything. Those kinds of restrictions
