Currently the music players holds 1380 tracks and has the following features:

  • Adding song to the playlist (max 100)
  • Text search through all track names
  • Song(s) can be randomly played, skipped or looped
  • A simple filter (more like a toggle) showing locked/ unlocked tracks

With the current set of options I have as a player it is kind of difficult to find older or newer tracks. I can't group the songs by category like quest music, environmental, boss music ... I even can't tell which of the songs are the most popular in the community.
The following ideas could help improving the music player so more player can enjoy the awesome songs:

  • Adding a sort functionality (alphabetical, release date, duration of the song, free/member ... ) see also the sort options in the quest tab
  • Possibility to sort the song by popularity (count how often the song is in the playlist/ how often a song is played / or any other metric collected)
  • Possibility to share or import a playlist from another player
  • Add duration and composer oft the song. The jmods deserve the credits

I think that the music player is a good fit to improve during a gamejam

One bug I've noticed that's quite annoying is the music player seems to bug and loop around incorrectly past a certain point of added tracks. Any improvements to the music player would be appreciated: well as some songs being looked at in volume e.g. Volcanic Vikings which is comparably very quiet to other sound tracks in the area.

All good ideas! I'd also love to see a blacklist feature (for shuffle/normal mode)—maybe a toggle to use the playlist as a blacklist, to save server space?
