We've created this space for any discussions around the panels we had at RuneFest. We'll do our best to get this in the eyes of our jmods to share your excitement or ask questions. This isn't a Q&A just to be clear but more of a place to have a chat and share in the excitement of what's to come 🙂

For the last question, I was surprised that it was said that there had been no bad feedback regarding seasonal events.

In particular the concern regarding the amount of xp from lamp/bxp stars from christmas paper is one that a lot of players have brought up over the years, including myself.

And to a lesser degree, the balancing on grind needed for parts of the rewards store.

I'm so unbelievably excited for Leagues in RS3, I've been cooking a spreadsheet that highlights all the biggest things in each regions (assuming they are the same as OSRS' regions), and i've been theorycrafting what will be different in the meta and how rs3 difers from osrs.

I've been taking notes of what advice to give OSRS players that are looking to try, I've been documenting what extra responsibilities the 'Sage' should have, and what extra currencies need a modifier (beyond just minigames; crux equal favor, chimes, dung tokens, etc)

Mos importantly, I found a low complexity way to accurately show each quest/area achievement/items/training methods/bosses available in each area, including all recursive requirements
PS: I can 100% share this tool, or even the results with staff if it has any hope of shortening the grunt work for our lovely Jmods (and hopefully allow for less day 1 hotfixes 😛 ) My DMs are open!

Really hoping 'game health updates' includes looking at of the older bank-saving content like PoH storage, bookshelves, and all that, and giving them a nice sprucing up by expanding their lists.

I hope I'm not repeating myself too much, but bank space is a big friction point for a lot of longtime players as more new stuff gets added, and there's a lot of bespoke content designed to save it like the quest chest that just. . . really ought to be more actively maintained, y'know?

For the clan improvements mentioned in the panel, something Mod Shauny looked into (IIRC) but didn't get to was supporting clan broadcasts in guest chats and/or the lobby. I think these could be nice ones to get. 🙂

GIM is from scratch maybe? while clan would be legacy systems from 2011 ish?

GIM got a broadcast for like every collection log item, every lvlup, every quest complete etc

Wars retreat refresh: Put an adrenaline crystal and a second wars altar closer to the combat dummies so I can test stuff without having to run around the universe to reset ability cooldowns/regain adrenaline

The idea of 130's being over 2 decades away feels so off the pulse of what's going on within the playerbase.

The cap is what makes it worthwhile

If it becomes uncapped then I think every xp i've gotten past whatever is the last milestone has been wasted effort

At least with a new cap they'd have been a stepping stone towards whatever is the new cap

I think theres a fair group of 200M players who did it to be freed of DXP etc

A long while ago Mod Jack was discussed this, and very wisely said that allowing player to get xp above 99 was a mistake to begin with. And further more, letting players get ie. Woodcutting xp beyond 75 when 75 was the highest content in the game was a mistake.
The reasonaning was that a lot of players rushed to 120 as soon as a new 120 was announced, robbing themselves of that new content to begin with.
So eventually if they exceed the 200m cap, surely they will stop players from getting more than the new cap.

When I was testing something in OSRS recently, I found a bug in the 'create a clan' process - and the GIM group creation process used a copy of the same code, but they'd fixed it there and just hadn't applied the same fix to the clan version

So maybe something like that is the case here too

Capping people to highest existing content makes it so we dont have 200m ppl instantly finishing the content on update morning. Its like protecting them from themselves

we could ship 120 non-virtual all tomorrow (well, give us a couple of weeks maybe) but without the content I think that would be pretty poorly received

Granted it's refered to as a Skilling update rather than game health.

Does anyone know if the Omni guard spec will be EOF-able and usable with the new Necro main hand?
