Why not create a code that if a account has not logged in for X amount of times (Lets say 5 years for example)
It loses the in game name, This will give other people the chance to get a name they desire.
It might also keep nonactive players logging in from time to time to not lose there IGN.

This makes it also random for every single name to get re released.
Without any announcement so the black market don't know when a name is getting re released.
Also if a account is perma banned why not release the IGN, The account is not coming back into the game.

Some names are bound to accounts because of that, those players are always keeping there desired name.
Maybe add a option to bind your name to your account. With bonds for example?
But once a name is bound it can never be unbound.** (add a check to see how long you hold the name for example able to bind it after 1 year) ( so if you get hijacked someone can not instantly bind it)
**
The last name release is so long ago 2017 iirc ? Its just a thought love to hear what other ppl think.

bots apparently run scripts to catch any desired name so such a thing might not work out.

it could work out if cleared up names 'went up for auction' where people could bid on them; this way even though its lame you'd have to pay for a name, scalpers wouldn't be able to profit

Isn't it somehow a thing already, that after x time their name will be removed?

#

I remember (and still) logging in and watching my friend list, with names like [BS7O2E7Y6H2SW]

#

I thought this was just cuz they didn't logged in for x-years? 😮

The time is 7 years without logging in is when you lose your name.

#

And a binding option would be cool. But shouldn't be allowed to bind it then change your name to whatever you want

An account can be 'Perma-banned' accidentally - yes, there are the rare false positives that happen.
That would set a terrible precedent if the name is released instantly but then that ban was seemingly applied incorrectly.

Names are seemingly already automatically removed after an inactivity period; if the account has not met certain criteria - which the criteria is currently unknown.
I know a good handful of players who still have their account name after many years of inactivity due to having met that criteria.

Maybe consider for exmple Holy Grail#001 Holy Grail#002 etc etc.
This way everyone can get the name they desire. the black market industry will be destroyed.
