while herb drops had high amounts. removing them completely seems silly?(ironman) if i dont log on at 5am before work to farm run, do a farm on lunch break, when i get home. before bed. i will progress incredibly slowly to 120 herblore. not everybody can play mobile at work killing slayer mobs for herbs.. idk how so many people do honestly. my favourite thing about runescape 3 was with my limited time to play. i could log on, only kill bosses. farm torstols/fellstalks. and that was all the upkeep i needed to continue pvming. Now it seems like i can only progress in a timely manner if im jobless or work at some half busy office where i can sit on my phone playing video games all day.

glad flicker

so, I sympathise but I wanted to explain why I disagree, as an ironman myself.

it's worth noting that 120 herblore is an endgame/completionist goal on a mode which players know is going to be time-intensive at account creation, in a game which is already notoriously time-intensive. it's not reasonable to judge game design around whether casual players can accomplish that. post-99 you're looking at elder overloads and vuln bombs as your key upgrades, and those come relatively early - adren renewals of course are good as well but it's not a biggie if you don't have them.

in contrast, removing herbs from boss drop tables does a lot of good stuff for game balance. personally I wouldn't mind tiny quantities of herbs as boss drops, but I'd be very keen that it didn't sustain pvming in itself.

if you want to log on and only kill bosses, ironman isn't the game mode.
