It is not a real big deal
I would not even go against removal of half of weapons, if it was for successful earlier update release
It.. actually is a big deal. It gives attackers a way to destroy buildings so defenders can’t use that same spot the whole game
The problem lies in how quick it is to destroy buildings on certain maps, not the mechanic itself
Also on some maps it just becomes a flatland once the majority have fully collapsed
And they leave barely any cover
Which vilaskis changed to leave more rubble to fix that
But hey who needs destructable buildings amirite

It almost never fully destroys many buildings
Usually when I’ve played people only fully collapse a few buildings per match
Clearly you have never played eduardovo, salhan or azagor
As palma said it’s more map dependent
Tbf I havent either 
But edu domination (because everyone spams explosives on the B building), old namak, azagor, salhan, hell even lonovo
Once those buildings collapse the very flat nature of the maps begin to show
Of course, one could argue this ties into bad map design aspects too, which im not disagreeing with that point either
But those buildings tend to just implode too fast (for 127 standards anyways) and the destroyed state doesn’t give much to work with
But at the same time, they need to implode, otherwise it shifts too far in the other direction
I wouldn’t mind smoke with the collapse tbh, but we’d probably still need a collaspe mechanic instead of outright disabling it

At the bare minimum collapsed buildings should provide more cover (and maybe more unique collapsed states for POIs and such)
