For those who don't know, they are adding ribbons in the overhaul, and you could see them in a tab in the main menu of the overhaul testing. They are similar to Battlefield ribbons, but with some changes.
There are 3 tiers: bronze, silver and gold. According to Vilaskis, the first 2 function like your BF ribbons kind of (silver has a higher requirement than bronze), but gold serves as a challenge to unlock a cosmetic and as bragging rights on your profile. All ribbons also give appropriate amounts of EXP.
My first issue is that gold requires (based on playtest requirements) feats that range from kind of reasonably difficult to borderline being impossible unless the enemy team is self sabotaging (example destroying 8 tanks in one round). It was said that these may be adjusted, so we shall see.
The second issue is that ribbons being divided to tiers seems a bit pointless, and the rewards being just cosmetics is also a bit lackluster. I don't see why ribbons and this special challenge cannot be 2 seperate things to avoid confusion, and why rewards are only limited to cosmetics. Simply make ribbons closer to BF ribbons (set requirement, not too big not too small, consistent EXP reward, earnable multiple times). Also, aving a player unlock something different, pernament and actually useful like a gun for example will actually make people actually go for it for a more substantial reward.
