#Communication between player and devs, and also social media managing

Seriously, aside from the twitch lives and the community announcement with saturday gamenight you dont really feel like the devs are working or communicating with the players, from the day i got this game it finally happned to me: no servers with players in europe, so basically i cant play (at least with a decent ping)

I do hope the overhaul project brings more new and old players back, but again, there's a "feeling" of no-communication and i don't think i'm the only one. I hope this is a one-time thing because of the overhaul project, but i'm gonna throw some suggestions which would be QOL.

  1. Split updates, if you got 1 Year update in working, simply split it in 3 part and the entire posts, comments and discussions about "Game dying devs abandoned games" would not have been born at all, this thing alone did a lot of damage

  2. More dev-updates, even if its just something small like "Tree falling sound decrease by 5%" it feels like you're being really included in every change

  3. A social media manager with constant content uploading, even if its not related to updates. You would be amazed how social like TikTok can easily pump your game, even if its just funny montages.

thats my 2 cents as 500+ hours player

well twitch won't be around much longer as far as I can tell, so there definitely needs to be a revamp of communication

To throw out some information and opinion...

  1. The plan was originally to do portioned updates, this is how the whole april update began originally. The game needed fundamental core changes and the developers were going to attempt to split it up, as they approached april they deemed that it would not be substantial of an enough update if broken into pieces, it had to be all or none.

  2. There were updates posted by oki vils and larry early into the year, eventually trailing down to vils map updates. Every update that is not a post with an eta is met with hostility from the bulk of the responders as its "not a real update". While I would also like to know more details cause im curious, I also understand not disclosing everything thats worked on, especially if it would only fuel the flames. At this stage, I dont believe anything but an ETA will be met with anything other than a passive 'fuck you give eta' There is a 20+ page change log that terminal manages for the coming patch notes.

  3. Shruge I think most bbr media thats generated at this point is, pretty dull. The game has stagnated to the point where the content that comes from it is.. minimal, but social media machine go brr.

While they should have keep the steam folk up to dare with the game, i dont think things would have been much better there anyways

The way things are currently, really makes the game look "dead".
I've been trying to get couple of my friends to play Battlebit with me, but they are like: "But the game is dead, huh? Not gonna buy"

But no, they go with "We bought the game here on Steam, we don't want to go on YT!!" 🙄 Yeah, I bought my laptop on Amazon, I totally expect Lenovo and AMD to push updates on Amazon, makes sense.

Just checked the official webpage, all the recent updates are quite literally posted there.

You may have a point that it is nice to be able to follow along in the process of development. Unfortunately for every person that wants to see that there are about two that are upset with the amount of progress that is made. Its understandable that they are, since they're are impatient people, and ignorant people to the length of time it takes to develop these things. In addition to that having the process documented and shown to the customer adds this layer of overwhelming feedback which is also time consuming to sift through. Its a giant time crunch in battle bits case.

Those are a few reasons why you may be feeling there's a lack of communication. There's no doubt in my mind that @pale gust would love to show off cool features, and new things. I think that has its time, and will come back, just not right now.

Most likely Oki had enough of the hate for the past 7 months (since the UI showcase) so he stopped completely giving any progress and won't show anything until next QA. Copium that next QA will give us an actual release date which at earliest i assume would be at the end of november and most likely at early-mid december. If stafftesting is beta testing then betas usually take from 1 week to - 1 month and since he wants update to be fully fine tuned and mostly bug free he will take max time as possible to test things with testers.

Is there a somekind of summary somewhere or something about the upcoming, somekind of big update I keep on hearing and reading on these different comments and posts here and there?
I'm confused.
