#If teammate(s) within short distance, add a timer before being able to give up

Many players tend to give up as soon as they are downed, even if their teammates are nearby and trying to revive them. This not only wastes tickets but also discourages others from attempting to revive the player.

Implementing a brief delay before allowing players to give up could help reduce these instances.

Here's an example: if a teammate is within 10 meters when you're getting downed, the give-up button is disabled for 7 seconds. If teammates are outside this range, this rule won't apply and nothing will change. The timer won't re-apply even if someone gets closer afterwards.

If you you are downed again shortly after getting revived, the timer does not take effect, to prevent possible loops of dying and getting revived without being able to break free.

Should add a variable if the teammate is in combat (taking shots)

#

The teammate most likely won't be able to revive you

The timer would start as soon as you get downed, and won't restart again if someone gets in range, probably should make that clearer

  • give the option to give up anyway and get 7seconds respawn timer

Call for medic is being added that will give a ui notification and slow your bleed out timer. A forced no bleed out with additional combat/teammate checks feels a little over kill comparatively

brittle gate
#

The thing is, he wants people to stop giving up whislist people nearby gonna revive or not

#

The call for medic only gonna help people who wanna be revived

plain patrol
#

I ascribe to teaching players to be smarter, intead of forcing them, where possible. NODDERS this is a totally valid method to stopping people from bleeding out when they are resable, i like the call for medic option more is all

brittle gate
#

We could have both tho, who knows

fresh eagle
#

Why dont they just add back the feature medic had where you could ping a dead player to let them know you are coming

#

You can not convince me that having a forced mechanic is beneficial to anyone in a casual setting, where the game aspires to thrive in.

fresh eagle
#

Agreed

#

Another thing is that some unintentionally give up because they dont know somebody is coming for them in the first place

#

This happens to me a lot, i start giving up only for someone to come to me in the last second when its too late

fresh eagle
#

Could probably make it available to everyone

#

But medic would have the ability to ping ppl thru walls (i mean they can already see dead people thru walls so why not), while others are limited to line of sight only

We are adding the feature to call a medic when you are down. While holding E your timer will slow down and a ping will be placed over you for medics to see.

I want the "I'm Coming to help" button back

#

it helped with healing too, since alot of players would stop running away

The take away from this thread so far is that, there are many other layers that need attention around resing independent of the res timer itself.

#

Root causes can be hard to dig out, but, i dont think the bleed out timer is the final stop.

I don't even know what's the point of the revive mechanic anymore. Half the time when I'm in the process of reviving someone, they give up before the progress bar could finish.

#

Why even bother trying?

gritty lodge
#

There is a point to it, but only if the situation allows for it and the player would directly benefit from it (which in a decent chunk if cases an offensive styled player does not)

#

Mainly because of how you can’t repair armor currently, but also mags if you’re mag dumping (vs normal reload)

#

Imo information needs to be better relayed to the medic if it’s even worth revivng someone to begin with. If im down to just a single pistol mag or whatever and my armor is toast, there’s no way to determine that on the medic’s end and they just go for it assuming you have all of that when you often times might not.

More information to some extent = good, as long as its not info overload, it helps the medic make their decision on revives

forcing a wait time mechanic just because someone is near you but is behind a sandbag (or whatever cover), or is clearly going for a shitty revive that gets you both killed = bad and leads to player frustration and griefing (intentional or not)

Another thing to help this is to give medic antinades

#

Part of the reason why i dont want revives in some cases is because i will die multiple times in the same area due to nade spam

#

Giving medic the ability to partially secure it would help greatly

#

Obviously, medic shouldnt overshadow support in that aspect (securing an area), but i am for giving like 1 or 2 antinades

#

And for the love of god let support put down 5 antinades at the same time instead of 4

#

Why give me the ability carry 5 when i cant use said 5 at the same time

shell coral
#

why is 5 instead of 4 so important?

#

In case one gets destroyed

fresh eagle
#

Ok but why cant i place 5 at the same time

shell coral
#

balance reasons? oki coding?

#

idk

fresh eagle
#

Could understand the limit if it was able to stop c4 or some shit

#

Given it doesnt

#

Why oki

shell coral
#

maybe support Was meant to carry 4

fresh eagle
#

Perhaps

#

I still want 5

gritty lodge

Tbh trophy needs to despawn on death before we get anywhere close to “potential changes to the gadget” but probably best for another suggestion thread

shell coral
#

it doesn't?

plain patrol
gritty lodge
# shell coral it doesn't?

Exactly why most think it’s OP, among other things but that’s a big one. You can place it down and just not have to worry about placing them again upon dying

shell coral
#

ppl keep placing mines next to them so it doesn't matter anyway

fresh eagle
#

What is OP about them is destroying grenades through walls and being able to sandwhich them between sandbags

shell coral
#

that is fixed in the next update

plain patrol
shell coral
#

or atleast it should be oki noted that a while ago

fresh eagle
#

If so, thats good

plain patrol
shell coral
#

let me search it

fresh eagle
#

Removal of those 2 is fine

#

But making it so that they despawn when dead is not ok

Many things are noted, hoping we see a "yes its fixed" some where along the line. thank you for looking for it bupLOVE
