Whole system should be redone not just recon squad
They said the squad system will be improved on in the future
Recon does not mean only snipers.
Recon squads need the other classes too
this would require sniper squads to exist
New squad "Sniper team" 2 men, sniper and spotter.
assuming they actually makes improvement for binoculars I doubt spotter might help much
best they can do is pinpoint the enemy but unable to provide the distance
I mean its a spotter role, but really is just for a friend to play next to you
but its a dedicated sniper only thing that could be built on
The soflam binoculars exist in the game files (used to be on squad lead class when that existed) but they removed it. Built in range finder binoculars. Was cool for spotting
i suggest removing snipers all together instead of limiting them!
Snipers hunt from afar, while others engage in close combat. Being right next to the enemy when you die is really bad if you want to be reborn.
Again, this is a problem with the whole squad system and not just recon squads. People are going to pick whatever and do whatever because the whole system is built with the “expectation” that people are loosely going to follow/work with like minded people, when the reality is much different.
If this system really worked as intended, we wouldn’t have default squads full of recons/recon SLs in default squads doing the polar opposite of what their squad is doing, recon squads that aren’t spotting/eliminating key targets to help the team with like minded people (not even using a sniper or recon specifically, just helping the team spot enemies) , etc.
And applying a half baked bandage solution to a poorly made system just ignores the root issue, which is that squad types don’t do enough to stand out in the grand scheme of things. (outside of attempting to group up like minded people.)

Like idk for example a tank squad will have a faster repairs or something
My reason for playing this game is to be able to use a sniper. I don’t use any other class.
Maybe perks per type of Squad, Normal has a balanced amount of max classes (3 Assault, 2 Meds, 2 Engies, 2 Supports, 1 Recon), Recon it's kinda opposite (1 Assault, 1 Medic, 1 Engie, 1 Support and 5 Recons)

Block certain type of vehicles to certain types of Squad (Helis/Tanks), Tank Squads are the only ones can use a Tank and they have a reduced amount on max players like 4, and limited to the engineer, in order to encourage survivability

why should normal one have limited classes (except maybe recon)? and tank squads should still be a normal squad. They are supposed to play with inf together just because it doesn't work in bbr doesn't mean we should take it away
bit too much of a sim style to limit roles. maybe have the SL set it for the non-default squads
