Simply do the following for squad points:
- Give squad points for simply assisting your squad members.
- Could be with kills, could be with repairs, heals, supplies, anything really.
- When capturing a zone, multiply the squad points gained by 0.1 per person in the capture zone when captured (so for 3 people it'd be 1.3x).
- This will encourage squads to work together somewhat by giving them a bonus if they all contributed to capturing a point.
- LOWER the squad point economy numbers in general. As in, make things that cost 1000 cost 100, reduce squad point gain when capture, assisting, etc.
- This will be necessary since there will be SO many more ways to gain squad points, people will still end up with like 5k. I'm basically just saying go from final fantasy numbers to paper mario lol. Makes each squad point feel more impactful too.
- This one is optional, but I'd say give SOME kind of squad points for general team play as well. Like 1/4th to 1/6th the normal amount? This way teamplay is still rewarded overall, but playing as a squad accelerates the gain greatly. Don't want people getting mad at blue peeps for taking THEIR squad's ammo for example.
There's probs more ideas out there, feel free to share them below. Squad points are sorely neglected and make some game modes feel like side attractions (rush). They're a core part of the gameplay loop, make them feel like it.
