#Map Reworks not replacing the "old" map

I would absolutely adore if you could add the Old Basra back into the map rotation. Is anyone daring enough to discord ping the blue man?
Oh and please apply this retroactively. In other words, bring back the old version of the maps that have already gotten a rework
low rated map says otherwise lol
Even if it was low rated it couldnt possibly be worse than the new one

new basra is just straight up worse..
Have two maps with same ship,weather,lighting will only confuse players and old version by data was perform worse from gameplay wise.
We must need to go forward and sort out maps to provide the best possible experience to user.
Some players have personal feeling to some maps, and cannot accept new version, because of nostalgia or ability to abuse some places to get big amount of kills and they cannot re-learn how to play on this map again.
You can have a game with 60 maps and clones/versions of those maps, but if only 20% of those maps will play well good, the user will get mostly negative experience.
Its much better to have less but more meaningful content, rather than copy-paste content.
Old Basra may get remaster, but instead of old wreck ship you will take a fight on wrecked Air Carrier , and instead of Sunny Weather , it will be stormy and have limited visibility to avoid tanks/snipers long range camping from cliffs.
If you have issues on reworked versions of map, just share it to #1019642813576646767 and provide your point of view, so we can improve this part of map.
you say "best possible experience for the user", but immediately try to dismiss the opinions of those users. you say "move forward" but reject inputs about which direction is "forward"
people dont want old basra back just because of nostalgia or abusable spots. we want it back because we simply enjoyed playing it more than we do new basra

The thing is, we arent really upset over the visual overhaul but you fundamentally changed the gameplay loop of basara when you remastered it, same with district. We simply suggest not reworking a map to the point that the core gameplay cycle of the map is altered

and old basra had plenty of ways to avoid snipers
The gameplay cycle of old basara was funneling players into a choke point to battle it out inside an area with large cover but still allowing for fighting above the main chock allowing for players to break the stalemate that occurs on the ground level

Thats fair criticism but I still feel like there was a way to change the map to accommodate for people circumnavigating the chockepoint without diluting chokepoint

the bunker tunnels, the various dips and hills on both teams' side of the map. the valley at D broke cross-map sniper sightlines
yes, i was examined many variants , but the current one was most optimal and interesting one
there were plenty of matches that i spent almost the entire match at D, not really having to worry about cross-map snipers
the ship was definitely not the only place to avoid snipers

idk, never have issues with snipers and tanks on new Basra even without smokes
all ways through the ship are 100% flat with no cover
I have yet to die to a sniper in that "flat area with no cover" unless I challenge a sniper, because I move through the cover that is definetly there
aye. and the way i see it, new basra is more than different enough from old basra to not be considered a clone of any sort. having both basras in the map selection wouldnt cause any repetitive content.
and if my experience is at all representative, the fact that new basra barely gets voted for at all while old basra got voted for frequently, the players have already spoken for themselves
im not sure what he means by increased map pool, since basra rework was the most recent update for the game
there is snap of death by sniper for two weeks before and after rework of Basra.
Pure red = where are players die from sniper the most of time. And in huge density of death.
You can see that on Old Basra the ship was so bloody from snipers kills, due you cannot expalin to new players that in front of them at hill , there is 25+ snipers who constantly peaking any part of your body.
- tanks who can kill you even when you are in cover by explosion radios.
While on new one the most dense kills from snipers is open field at edge of radio tower (Still havent figured out what players doing sometime here).
The Beacon and Radio Tower is most bloody due its now a place where are Snipers from Beacon doing longshots to snipers at Military Base.
You are probably was standing on top of cover at flat area and get shot by sniper, otherwise im cannot exaplain why you do have troubles with snipers around ship at new Basra
i cant imagine that data is apples to apples. new basra update was the same update that heavily nerfed sniping, so you dont even have data for the post-sniper nerf for old basra

its same. Sniper neft didn't impact on Sniper performance on maps that was not changed, like on Valley
due snipers always play in group

rotate ship on old Basra was not a option due it will increase a empty field distance as well as height of ship was not enought to cover 60% of this distance from snipers on hill.
Would have still created some cover

its not like it changes anything, because the snipers that kill you are usually within 200-400 meters and move constantly. people who know how to harass move often enough that the "nerf" doesn't effect them

Maybe the issue wasnt the chokepoint itself but the high abundance of sniper spots
because we still have many snipers, most of them are sitting on same spot together and shot same target in same time.
Mean its insta-death for player, just someone who seen a death of this player behind, now can understand a direction of sniper fire by trail

surely theres something between "bunker and hill" and "nothing"
people in this game have problems with hills 20 meters high
and tbh, "new basra vs old basra" is not the point of this suggestion thread. the point is that so far, the reworked maps tend to have significant differences and are NOT clones of each other, so keeping BOTH versions of the reworked maps wouldnt cause repetitive gameplay

we will have both maps on playlist, and then old map become avaialble on community servers only if there is free reserved slot in memory

Old Basra was one of the best maps in the game, right up there with Old/District and River.
Waki is one of the most played maps, despite being one of the absolute most reviled by the playerbase.

Why are you so completely against snipers and tanks? This is exactly what I mean when I say I think the real anti sniper changes in the game are from you and not Oki. The sniper duels on Basra from the A observatory to the E lighthouse were some of the best in the game. Camping tanks is due to the pevelance of C4 (on medic) and the safezone being abused. Nu-Basra has none of that. None of the elevation and no use of the sniper islands. It's just a gimped map and experience. Expecially for flying the Blackhawk.
And tanks still camp in the safezone and snipe helicopter all game on Nu-Basra. Ultimately nothing has changed in that regard
There is no objective on it so it's pretty much useless in Conquet and pulls players away from the outlying objectives. If half your team is on the center ship then you're definitely bleeding tickets from holding only a few objectives.
Let me say this. If you have a problem with "Snipers" in the game, then you have an even bigger problem with helicopters not doing their job. As a Blackhawk pilot I would always hunt down the outlying snipers and lone tanks from above. They have nowhere to hide.
Most can't even fumction beyond a 1 way taxi. Increasing the lethality of the minguns is the ultimate counter to snipers rather nan demolishing a whole map based of data and an antagonism towards snipers.

Both snipers and tanks camping are a big problem in this game cause they are fucking everywhere
And they barely play the game in a meaningful way
Especially vehicles
Part of the problem is vehicles being shit and all

Vehicles needs buffs so they can be viable outside of camping
But said buffs arent going to get rid of the recon problem.
Only way to get rid of it is through map design changes or really messing with sniper rifle stats
Problem with old basra is that there was very little cover in a tight area around and on the ship
Also the fact that both sides overlooked the entire damn place on several elevation levels and in a wide area
Naturally the ship was hell
New basra made it worse due to a severe lack of cover
It went from 1 extreme to another
