One of things that make grenades annoying is the fact you cannot see (nor hear) them. Easy way to improve this is to make grenades actually stand out in the enviroment.
Frankly it always kinda bugged me is how in general the grenades looked. They are all just have the same color pallete or their colors are heavily drowned out. But it has become apparent that it's an issue, because they blend in with the enviroment, especially roads and explosion debris that flies around.
Here are some reference photos to make grenades haveore vibrant colors instead of being just black blobs.
We can take this even further - grenades slightly differ in color depending on the team. Kinda like how your enemies have a red glowing parts on their gear. See how the frag grenade and flashbang have a colored stripe to them? Change the color of the stripe depending on the team. Your side has grenades with a blue stripe, enemy side has a grenades with a red stripe. Distict and very visible, without the need for grenade indicators.
