I haven't used my laptop in a while, but it isn't a slow one, it can run most games without any problem, but when i reinstalled Battlebit and opened it, it would run at a consistent <10 fps. If i clicked when it wasn't finished loading the menu it would stop responding.
The laptop is a Lenovo Legion i7 from 2019

could you check if it's possible to set polling rate without mouse itself being connected?

open GHUB and see if there's settings or such, polling rate should be at 250hz or below
