I wanted to suggest some basic keybind optimizations and improvements that'd save us from crab hand-ing our keyboards as much.
- Give us the option for a "hold to prone, tap to crouch" combined keybinding
- Option to turn on NVGs by holding the gadget button (toggle laser). Or make this turn on and off the FLIR. Either or combine something here to save on keys.
- Option to increase/decrease zero by holding the FIREMODE button and using the scroll wheel instead of it being its own key
- Maybe an option to magazine check by tapping the "combine magazines" button rather than having two different keys.
- Add a general gun interaction key option that lets you change the fire mode, toggle safety, inspect ammo, inspect the gun, etc. It can be a nice little 1 menu deep wheel.
- Give us the option to put interact, grab players, push key, and cut rope all on the same binding without having to individually do it. TBH I don't see there being many situations where these would overlap in a problematic way.
- Give us a toggle between VOIP type key (think like rising storm 2) and one VOIP button for it as an option so we don't have 3 different push to talk bindings if we don't want it.
- It'd be nice if it was clear what keys would overlap when vehicles are involved. Like if I set my firemode key to a vehicle key without realizing I could fire my gun in some seats it'd be great to know if it was overlapping in that case, but not for something like "drag player" where you can't do it inside a vehicle (I think, never tried lol). Just highlight the key red in this case.
- Separate out the ping wheel from the squad menu wheel. This way it's easier to quickly ping "go here" or "defend here", and it'll save space on the squad menu wheel.
- Add an option for a separate build menu key bind, or move it to the top of the squad menu wheel PLEASE. Being at the top left is SO damn awkward.
- Personal ask, but can we have a map and scoreboard on the same key option? Hold for scoreboard, tap for map & vice versa? I mash map often, so it'd be nice to save that key for something else.
These are just some basic key binding QoL suggestions. If you've got any, please comment them as well. I think BBR is a little inefficient with its key usage. While it's nice to have individual options for everything it'd also be good to have some grouped options for plebians like me that don't want to sprawl their fingers across the entire keyboard.
