#Reduce time needed to achieve weapon upgrades

At the moment, it takes ages to acquire new weapons or weapon mods. For reference, I have 35 hours in this game since it released - to some this may not sound like much but it definitely is to a gamer like me. (An adult with plenty of other hobbies and limited time.)

The game would feel fresher to me and I would enjoy it more if I was able to try out more of the other weapons and modifications. As it is at the moment, the game feels stale because I'm unable to acquire more tools. Seeing other players with their shiny kit makes things even worse.

even when playing very casually the game's progression is not that harsh
especially when compared to the release and pre challenges time

At first I thought this was ridiculous, but the first few weapons mods of each gun should come relatively quickly, small change no real impact, on playerbase, but help newer players I believe all guns should start with at least a red dot.

35 hours: Lets say you play every day after work for 2 matches, maybe an hour. Seven hours a week. That takes 5 weeks. An entire month.

In my last maybe 10hours i got like 30 Levels from 128 to 159 so its no that hard

I mean even weapon mods are not super harsh currently

#

Depends on the gun of course, given in some cases that certain attachments help out a lot more than others on other guns

#

But for most guns 1 attachment per 5 kills is pretty generous

Yeah I know gotta cater to the casuals tho now!

TBH, the first couple weapon parts could be a bit faster

#

I'd prefer having unlock points/tokens/tickets for attachments - or for the unlocks to be personailzed for each gun so they get their better attachments first and quickly

#

But either or it'd be better if the first couple came faster like on an exponential curve rather than a linear one or somethin'.

#

This community defo has a wack scale of what's acceptable timescale wise for most people lol.

#

A lot of this could be helped if instead of kills you gained weapon XP by just playing with a weapon equipped. That'd be much better imo

better attachment should be a grind tho, curve i think is better and doesn't really affect the player base, instead of everyone running meta gun after 50 kills with it and being able to use a token/points system.

This one is too young to have witnessed the EA launch progression

EA launch and early playtest grind

#

In early playtests iirc it took like 25 kills for 1 attachment on a gin or something

#

Not to mention that it took ages to level up

Also I don't think any unlock progression should be balanced around the latter items being straight upgrades for this game, personally

#

Because then you're just at an advantage if you play more, period

On one hand: yeah some gun unlocks are stupidly long for the sake of and should probably be fine tuned (e.g. aug’s mags, especially extended B and quick, same with UMP quick)

On the other hand.. most are actually fun to unlock and are unlocked at reasonable levels

#

Maybe tone down the extreme ones and have a camo in its place instead for said new “extreme” requirement, but otherwise I genuinely don’t see a problem with the pace of most unlocks

The unlock process isn't fun in of itself, it's the gameplay that's fun

#

The reason I make that distinction is because unlocking things currently is literally just putting in the time basically

#

So toning down the unlock times really doesn't make it any less fun if done properly, it just pushes the playtime rewards earlier

#

If it takes too long it feels unreasonable, if it's too short it doesn't feel satisfying. It's basically just delayed dopamine. The unlock process itself is just playing the game though, so I personally would hesitate to call the process itself fun. More that playing the game itself is (or was) fun

#

My point went a little up my own ass here, so to rephrase a little: unlocking stuff isn't like a separate process from playing the game. If the game is fun unlocking is fun currently. So making it shorter really won't affect much as long as the unlocks don't feel pointlessly gated off.

I personally think challenges should be implemented to make the unlock process actually fun instead of just a basic battlepass/xp level up system

#

The game is rewarding you for playing it for a period of time. A lot of things in the game simply take too long to unlock so they don't feel like a reasonable time based reward anymore

#

I hope this made literally any sense, I didn't get much sleep 😦

#

I tried to make it clearer what I meant lol.

Tldr: the unlock process in bbr currently is just playing the game. So adjusting the time it takes down a little won't make it feel less fun for the most part as long as you're not unlocking things so quick that they're meaningless.

#

You'll never really wish it took longer to unlock guns or attachments imo. At least I don't

#

Tldr for the tldr: me no wanna play 20 hours for all gun
