Make it so that the driver can disable the engine on a vehicle:

  • no one except the player who removed the key can start the engine of said vehicle
  • Once the player exits or is killed inside the vehicle the ignition key is returned
  • It is available only after the start of the match (>1 minute) to prevent trolling when a lot of players need transportation
  • This should only apply to m7/m2 transport vehicles, maybe also some boats.

This addresses an issue where teammates move your M7/M2 AA defense platform vehicles just to run into the enemy RPGs and die.

This could possibly lead to many players switching their playstyle over to m7/m2 camping so maybe a nerf to m7 would be required too - this should be observed carefully.

Actually based idea, any way of preventing people from yoinking a car while you use it would be great

Would be useful for APC and Tank so you can repair without getting them stolen

oki implemented this in the past before
people didnt know how to unlock vehicles so theyd randomly be placed around the map

if i recall there was a way to unlock the cars but it took too long for players to care

Vehicle autounlocks if you run too far from it, should solve most problems

And given dev's treatment of vehicles, that feature was probably thought out and coded in 15 minutes

I don't think nerfing vehicles with auto-cannons is necessary because deploying smoke can already render them ineffective.

Adding an option to lock vehicles, possibly bound to key G or left unbound by default, would allow players to use it selectively as needed.

Returning the key upon exiting wouldn't assist armored vehicle drivers who often need to exit to repair their vehicles.

locking vehicles seems like a perfect prevention to those players that spawn in the vehicle you placed close to base exit for a reason and drove the vehicle away
