make it as a settings
Here's a video from Battlefield 4 that shows the difference between HiFi and War Tapes. My own opinion is that war tapes sound extremely loud this time around unlike Battlefield 3. What do you think? Comment below.
Here is the old comparison video I did for Battlefield Bad Company 2

would be epic
Having it as an option, preferably a slider so people can adjust it to their liking or at least a few preset ones would be the best thing
best option
that way people who are scared of sounds (who?) can have their preset
and ppl who wants their guns to sound like guns will have their preset
I understood the concern about the sound clarity when there's too much gunfire but who the hell is afraid of gunshots when they chose to play a shooter
Giving an option to players is the best way to satisfy everyone on the matter
Apparently Oki thinks shrews and other small rodents who suffer from heart attacks due to loud sounds compose the majority of the playerbase
I am more in favor that the sounds should be rolled out and then more people can hear it, rather than just those who watch devcast
a slider
The sound studio probably isn't some unprofessional wannabe company, I am confident they know what they are doing
Surely
Doesn't matter anyways bc we saw Oki tweaks the sounds from the studio
So who knows if we're getting the raw package
God I forgot how meaty bf4 gun shots are
BF4 had super satisfying sound design
Really is a game that BBR can and should take notes from on a lot of things
"Buuh, but we don't want to copy BF 🤓💢"
So much of the game already copies battlefield in concept and the pace of gameplay, I will never understand why people get defensive about it
If anything, copying battlefield more would fix a lot of the current fundamental issues
Battlefield 3 and 4 at least
Almost like Dice knew what they were doing with those games
I at least want them to add interesting weapon reverb or something.
Like outside, a gunshot sound would linger and would kind of dissipate, but inside, it'd sound a lot louder and cramped up.
It feels like these guys arw taking bit too many notes from COD now
We need B A S S
And make the slider on max value just B A S S instead of actual gunfire sound
If the sounds don't activate PTSD, then what's the point
Yeah and so did Battlefield, look where that got them
I want to get shell shocked by a frag grenade
It'd be neat if you got temporarily deafened by nearby explosions
Ear ringing etc
Could be a benefit of running a helmet with ear protection that you suffer less from it
So we will copy mechanics from CoD
Tbf, BF makes war battles look and sound super amazing. This game makes it look like a meme most of the times. And thats not a bad thing for me. But sounds are very well welcomed.
New sounds are fine because the current sound design is all over the place in terms of quality
Some guns sound great while others are super quiet for no particular reason, plus explosions feel very flat
They are good in the current update but it is weird that the deagle and m200 don’t have more “beef” to the sound since they’re some of the highest cal guns in the game
feels a bit misrepresentative of their power
The M200 sounds better when you're near it than when you shoot it
I like loud/good sounding noises
i want sounds so loud they make me feel like im not wearing ear pro
After listening to the devcast a bit I think I had a moment of clarity
The devs are trying to de-clutter the gunshot audio so there isn’t a bunch of background ambient or “beef”
However all the guns are ending up at higher pitches without much background sound so they may not be as distinguishable
So perhaps changing the pitch and “beef” of the sound based on the gun fire rate would be better
Since high cal would be deep and loud it would stand out better against the low cal machine gun fire
Maybe make a experimental option for the scary sounds! Put a lot of warnings before and after activating, to know players that the option is experimental and maybe is not good for the long term gameplay.
