#Combat Vehicles Buff Suggestions

A few suggestions to improve the 2 main combat vehicles, LAVs and the Tanks.
If you have any issue or another ideas pls comment.

  • Redesign certain parts of all maps to allow tanks and LAVs flank and navigate easily, many maps are only infantry focused gameplay, add more clean roads to bigger maps.
  • Separate the driver from the guners on tanks and LAVs, and give drivers the ability to deploy smoke curtains and the ability to see the exact amount of health of the vehicle.
  • Add the machineguner seat in the LAVs obviously with the player exposed, the machine gun is like the M249, can fire continuously until runs out of bullets and needs to reload the weapon.
  • Buff AP tank rounds, in general, Buff tank vs tank combat, 20 damage for a precise shot is too low (the tandem does 44, a lot if you compared with the Armor Piersing rounds of a tank), so my suggestion is duplicate the damage (only to vehicles) of the AP tank rounds.
  • Let the tanks and LAVs destroy trees pls, is very frustrating trying to drive in various maps because of that.

All very good suggestions, although I think the tree destroying is a little much.

AP rounds are definitely needing some love.

Another indirect buff, as I've added to other posts, is just removing C4 from being equippable to every single class. Seems kinda silly that a medic can just solo a tank lmao.

We've discussed most of these in the respective suggestion threads.

Can't really do this without removing places that can act as cover for infantry (i.e. ditches, trenches). I would just ask to ditch the "realistic" interaction between wheels and floor and simply make the "acceleration hitbox" for the vehicle be a solid box around it, then it should nearly always be able to climb out of tight spots.

Don't really see how this helps. Even with a stabilized turret, coordinating movement and shooting is way harder than doing it all yourself. The only way this would improve things is if driving was handed over to the commander seat since their camera turning speed isn't capped and then you can drive in one direction while the turret engages targets in a different direction.

Smoke definitely should be improved. Should act like a launcher that deploys the smoke on the target location instead of just farting it on top of your own vehicle.

Could just let people poke out of the hatch and use their regular equipment as in a chopper. Gives more flexibility than a mounted gun and also means that it's always possible for someone to hop in and help defend even if the vehicle is out of ammo.

Re: AP, absolutely needs a buff.

As for trees, tanks should definitely destroy them but it should still stop them (as opposed to walls they can just drive through), otherwise it would be very strong. APCs have an easier time dealing with trees thanks to their abundant ammo supply, not sure it's needed, specially with the other buffs suggested above.

  1. I dont know well about maps, so not suggest. I only find in BF4 it is convenient for vehicles to join battle, not struggle much with the terrain. I feel pity for lots BBR vehicles stuck and let alone in somewhere.

  2. About vehicles driver, how about tank driver have third perspective vision, can change to thermal vision with by a button, and have control smoke launcher like one Assaults have? Commander have main turret and machine gun, and seat 3 remain original.

LAVs let people poke out and use their weapon, I agree.

  1. Buff AP rounds and tank vs tank combat, I agree.

  2. Vehicles can destroy trees if they have enough velocity. If they dont, should it take a little time to break through.

  3. C4 should be given to Assaults and Engis only, but has limit this upto 2-4 respectively. If they want, they find a solution, if they dont want, they find a reason.

  4. Some addition suggest to encourage vehicles to go forward like they can be resupplied by some ways (supports give ammo, supply drop, capture objectives remain), for A FEW ammo additional, to keep them remain in battlefield, not for go a long time back to base.

Also, have something like can be kicked without conversation. I think vehicles squad should have more and more connection, like tactical one. What the hell a squad can do if they dont have at least agreed to do things ? Transit to battle is ok, but wont never go with those silent ones. Many times I pick a position to support inf go ahead step by step, then a dude let in and ship me toward to foes, then die, insensible me from begging.

I don't think is a good idea giving vehicles 3rd person, because its too broken, (hate 3rd person in war thunder), and it's bad giving much abilities to 1 seat of the tank (and the comander seat has thermal vision), I'm taking my ideas from Squad (one of the games that inspired the creation of BBR), and their vehicle combat is very intense

And many servers have rules that add the requirement of naming your squad with the Tank/LAV/APC of your team in order to claim the respective vehicle

Also, sorry for my acknowledge about game programming, but anyone can explain is it programming limit or something about not add plane and missles ingame by devs okiNani I see conquest maps so hell large, then why those cant deploy plane ?

Take bf4 an example, when a plane/jet available, if a player choose to deploy in, it ready in the sky already.

How about missile ? I wonder will it different between a tank shot with a missile.

Last I want to talk about gun in Humvee M2 Browning 5 seat. Why its rof so slow and lack of protection ~ Those who use this is my favorite meals. I don't know thing to suggest weapon change, but at least these have some bulletproof or something to endure fight, and passengers have option to open it, peek outside to fight back.

the thing with bf maps is that the sky area is often bigger than the actual playable map which isnt the case in bbr.
Aside from that they tried much bigger maps a while ago but later said in a dev stream that it didnt work well
(i tested it and dont agree here but thats not important)
