Followed the guide from github and invested 6 hours of researching and testing, but no success to run a server.
Is there a actual information/guide how to host a own game server?

Can I host my own server? (i.e. Community Server)

BattleBit does have community hosted servers. However, you need to be whitelisted by us to be able to host a server. Unfortunately, whitelist applications are currently closed.

In terms of guides, you would receive more info by us on how to do it once you'd be whitelisted. Currently any guide is community made, such as https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2990101396
