Currently, the Riot Shield feels far too situational and under powered. Whilst it does a decent job of blocking bullets, there's no way to stop someone running head-first towards you and gunning you down. Don't even think about pulling out another weapon because by the time you do that you'll be dead on the floor due to the slow handling. Hence why I think the riot shield should have a bash to give players some form of self defence.

This would do 34 damage, guaranteeing a 3-hit kill. I feel this is a safe amount of damage but 50 damage could also work if it's balanced well. This bash would not do any form of damage to buildings or scenery.

Just atleast SOMETHING to make the riot shield more viable. PLEASE- I personally believe some sort of self defence bash whilst using it is the best way to go around it, as other ways (like one handed weapons whilst held) are far too overpowered or can be abused.

I mean I still think the pistol hipfire while half-shielded could be balanced, but shield bash would be pretty based too ngl

Also you have to keep in mind the “pickaxe/sledge” exist issue

I suppose we could just allow riot shield to be comboed with a pistol or sledge at the cost of the secondary for sledge/pickaxe (or grenades for the pistols) as a trade off

Otherwise this just makes the pickaxe even more of a meme and the sledge’s niche use for melee kills becomes even more redundant

first step should be to make it actually bulletproof and not giving it a melee attack while you cant get close enough anyway

it is bullet proof, except for the glass, and frags to the front, and the enemies that can stick guns through it, or just run through it
