#View of the city from a highrise.

Its looks like a good nest for sniper, but keep in mind that that place will be under fire from any direction of the city.
yeah i'd expect sniping to be about as hard if not harder than lonovo
the sightlines are better, but you are unlikely to spot a counter sniper first
a 4 lane highway in the middle of mid risers is the most American thing I saw today
More verticality huh? Just adds to the alredy overpresent chaos. And then people complain why half of the team are recons...
Anyways, it looks like another map that punishes vehicles for existing
Can you bring the building This is taken from down?
we love sniping! we love having to play vietcong evey game!
It just looks way too fucking big. It's very impressive and very cool but how am i supposed to find players in a massive map like that unless I'm directly on objectives
its smaller than tensatown
I hope the objectives are concentrated in the city and aren't too spread apart, since that would probably mitigate the issue
Oh, I was unaware. In that case the map looks sick as hell
I can't believe I'm saying this but thanks Battlekot. You're doing some actually good work.
Vehicle's should have some safe pathways around the outskirts, and the center will probably be more sketchy and dangerous. Just like tensa but more
Chaos is fun. That's why people like clusterfucks like namak and old basra
Not good enough if there supposed to be Conq layer.
And that's why we can get half a lobby of recons too
no?
Imma be real buff vehicles instead of catering an entire map to them
I have seen 60% more than once, scary thing to see, no one too shoot on points
Is that common or???
And ive never seen a lobby thats 60% recons
Maybe on dusty but never that much
It's not about "catering map to them" , it's more about making maps that doesn't work against them, and can allow them to play to their strengths
INFCONQ basra 64v64, bad times
While yes, making maps to allow better movement across the board fot vehicles is good, majority of the problems with vehicles stem from their physics and just how weak many of them are
Id take a vehicle buff first
64 old basra maybe
But 128 is (or used to be before the player dip) the most popular option
Edge cases shouldn't be what you form your opinion on. Anything can happen if you give an ideal situation for it within enough playtime
If they worked against them you wouldn't see people driving cars, they would just be left in the spawn. Only place I've seen that happen is in waki cuz of the bridge
I do agree though that vehicles should be buffed
And long range tanks maybe nerfed to give dropoff in damage, atleast for infantry
It would be better if maps weren't very narrow, full of destructible obstacles, no space to turn around, not to mention using mobility, so many corners and windows for a lot LoS to shoot with RPG or run up with C4, a lot of verticality where you can't elevate gun high enough
Both. You will not get good vehicle expirience with only one thing, and this is map related channel
Homie you can literally go around flank routes.
If you drive a vehicle in a cramped area or in the middle of action yeah you'll have a bad time
Maps are narrow only when you are in the middle of a city or something which is the entire point of that area
And it wouldnt half of an issue if vehicles were more durable
Incentivising camping outside of main action area instead of some kind of PTFO = bad idea.
Also if all classes didnt have access to c4 and heat just being busted af
How often do you see infantry vehicles camp out of the action, rather than drive around and then into a flank
Again it's just not how people play, you're making up a scenario that doesn't happen
Id prioritise those changes in particular over more map changes
yes, and that's bad, promotes camping and staying far from action
maybe, both things need to be changed. Look at how BF does maps. Look at Zavod, or Transmition, SoS, Caspian border etc
The only case i can see people camping out of main action is on maps with long view areas from spawn areas like dusty dew, which is where Tank sniping happens.
Which is again an edge case
My random guy. Buffs will not change that much. Map design also needs to take combined arms into the account. and this is map related channel, so let's talk about maps here
Hard disagree. Vehicle's deserve to be punished for playing a risky playstyle, rather than being difficult to hit because of many areas to do risk-free drivebys
They could just leave if things get bad if it wasn't so cramped. Making it more open also affects more than just vehicles, it also affects the paths people walk and gameplay. No one wants another lenovo
Also Sandy, Valley, Multu, Eduardovo, Basra etc. Majority of maps have people camping in vehicles, if they are smart enough to not die in 2 mins, because maps doesn't allow for much more. Sure, vehicles needing a buffs also takes part in that, but maps definitely help in that a lot.
Not a place for that disscusion
You're literally discussing it right now
I am talking about maps here
And I'm not?
I don't think so
Pretty sure we're both talking about changing the maps to give less risk for vehicles
maybe? I am talking about maps punishing vehicles for trying to play there, which they do. In many ways
Okay then how about we find some common ground
What changes would you want? A good one i think would minimally effect the gameplay but make vehicles better is more curved road turns rather than a direct turn left
Or intersections
They are gonna do a lot for vehicles
Removing C4 from some classes reduced the risk of someone running up to you
Giving frag rpg the infantry damage that heat currently has (and giving heat current frag rpg infantry damage) would also do wonders
Of course the combined arms thing has to taken into consideration
But the first step has to be to buff vehicles first
Combine thag with making some tougher they would be far more reliable
I agree strongly with palma but i also think drzewn might have some merit too. I'm willing to hear them out
More space, to maneuver, to create bigger buffor for c4 runners bymore space to ran through
More freedom of movement, so less obstacles that stop you instantly
Less verticality, so less angles to look at
Less angles overall, those two benefit inf too, creating less chaos
More space to leverage mobility advantage, basically everything that BF maps do.
Basically, look at Siege of Shanghai, it's a city map done right, if you want combined arms maps (aricraft excluded)
More freedom of movement can be partially solved if you allowed vehicles to actually turn more
Like rn vehicles like humviees can barely turn
On some its kinda better but still very restrictive
Should also probably mention this, but iirc the taller buildings on this new map are gonna have the first 2 floors actually accessible
And roof can be climbed with like ropes and all
Infact if you take a look at the posted picture closely you can see that the majority of the floor are completely inaccesible
sure. But maps like Tensa, Lonovo, salhan, frugis still will be nightmare, but vehicles are present there, so dev's intend for such game play there.
Doesn't change a thing, people will be spamming anything driving in LoS with rpg's from the top. Squad spawning exists.
Frankly vehicles do have a tough time in tigher maps, especially tensa and frugis
Lonovo and salhan are kinda bearable
Not great but can be bearable
It does kinda
Its pretty much just at the top or bottom of a single building rather than looking through every single floor to make sure its safe
I agree with most of what you said here, besides angles. These seem like much better ideas, and i do agree there's way too many props or details near roads that aren't destructible by cars
Changing rpgs so infantry is actually for infantry and heat is just for buildings/vehicles would decrease the number of players using heat, making it less likely in general
You will be spammed from multiple angles, with no way to fight back, unless you are far enough.
Not to mention removing C4 from medic for example
if that ever will be a thing, but sure
let's speak about buffs that never will be, instead of discussing faults in map design.
Respectfully, maps are also important. And revelant.
Agreed
Agreed
Having maps incentive snipers to camp in areas closer to the action so that they can actually be fought back at, rather than them being able to sit miles in the backlines
That's the biggest issue i have with maps that is overlooked
I genuinely think if snipers had to be more involved they would be less of a problem as it would be easier to kill them and piss them off
They would be essentially insects getting a few clean kills from above
Which is exactly why i like the map, the assuming the high-rise has an easy way to get up relatively quickly you could actually fight back against snipers
An elevator, flights of stairs, fire escape routes, scaffolding, ropes... Etc
Unfortunately the only way up looks to be a stairwell, which would take a long time to climb, could be easily barricaded, and could just have one claymore to stop a push
I hope vila sees this because i genuinely think it's something that should be addressed before release
every tall building should have multiple ways up or an adjacent angle of attack
Multiple routes up a building would be ideal so there would be more spots to cover
EXACTLY
if all i need to do as recon is put down 3 mines to have the roof to myself then it's too easy for me
Please battlekot don't let this oversight ruin the map...
I beg you
It looks so good

I'm tempted to @ him but i don't wanna get banned for the cause
Just don't know how to contact him
Kek
When?
That is so far away though.
Yeah. Let's hope we get a new gun or something for waiting so long
lenovo 2.0
Lenovo but good?
this looks like camper heaven
reminds me of that one unturned map ๐
Weird they all do.
I love the warzone map
looks a bit like lonovo to me
๐คท
Okay can someone please tell me if the big building where all the snipers are going to try to camp can be destroyed?
Probably not, but it can be barricaded and camped if you really hate them
1 smg user + 1 medic + 1 support box = easy destruction
The intersection bridge can apparently be destroyed tho
its slight bigger than tensa city part itself.
The city part is more size of Lonovo icluding hills/forest area of Lonovo
Thank you for the Clarification.
I wanted to mention that it seems there's only one way to get up the buildings roofs, making them easy to camp and defend for snipers. If there were multiple access ways, they would have a harder time defending from enemies coming up
Scaffolding, ladders, elevator shaft, or some adjacent buildings to jump from would help with this
There is not much space for that.
Mostly its inner + outside door / ladder.
alright, I guess i'll have to wait to see how it plays out then. Thanks for replying :)
there is no parashutes, so destroy all stairs = lock yourself at roof until someone destroy building.
- there will be around 3 armed little birds per team, so stay on the roof can be spicy.
wasn't aware you could destroy those big buildings, that makes it much better for countering
in that case yeah i agree
I just must've missed that, my apologies
yes sir, camper time
Can't camp if the building below you blows up
