#Help me understand, "Doors"

Please explain to me how contemplating adding doors is a thing, when there are literally 200+ ideas directly below this post, coming from the actual current players of the game?

Whether you agree or disagree with customers, wouldn't it make sense to take the most popular ideas from customers, and implement those first? Wouldn't it make more sense to support the existing user base, rather than try to break or tweak the existing game such that the existing base leaves?

As developers, if you really feel the current game needs changes that are so significant in order to bring in new customers, then** spin off this game**. Retain all the rights but hand this game over to 3 new developers and let them create the milsim or whatever was originally envisioned.

In this way, you keep the existing base happy as they don't care what the new game is called (BattleBit Milsim or whatever), and you can double your chances of success!

You won't be splitting the userbase because existing users will stay because they will play whichever title is best for them. New players will initially play your vision of BattleBit Remastered and then can decide which one they prefer long-term. Win-win.

Unless you are willing to wait another 2 months without content or changes, it is what it is

The devs are gonna do what they want to do, and they don't care about, and are not listening to, what the community wants unless they're seeking validation about their own ideas.

Best to spend your time elsewhere, because any effort here is wasted

You have a very similar writing style tyo this one guy

I don't have a reddit account. I used to, but I've never posted on the battlebit subreddit

The devs have been really good at talking about doors.

Doors are here to solve a specific problem: Players can find it hard to find a moment of safety. By closing a door, you can buy yourself that moment. Doors are inherently intuitive in that most humans know where to find doors, and how to interact with them.

If you've played Apex or Warzone, or any other game with doors in gameplay, you probably already know about door plays or "playing the door" for an advantage and already have a sense of how they work and what is possible with them. Doors are the foxholes of the shooter game city.

Finding a little scrap of safety is the point of doors.

#

I like the idea and I think this is an underlying issue that could be worked on. So let's ask some better questions!

Are doors the right solution to this problem? Are they on theme? Do they fit with other systems (like destruction, vehicles, etc)?

Are there other solutions in the game currently? We already have instant-build cover and fast prone, but that doesn't really help if you're being shot. Would a door be different?

Can we get skins and attachments for doors??

thankfully prone won't be as fast anymore after the update

At the end of the day it won't be much use to hide, if they hear a minimum of noise they will bombard you with C4, welcome to Battlebit

I was trying to be neutral in that writeup, but yeah...
Two things: first i think that c4 being a counter to doors is great. Doors counter bullets, so explosives counter doors, which are countered by bullets (being shot). Options and Counterplay is good

But really I don't feel like doors actually work in this game. Hard cover like an indestructible fence is just as good, and a brick wall is cover that can be 'opened' at least once.
Feels like map design is more important? Like if you can see enemies and nobody dies straight away, then the rest of the fight can happen, and that only happens in some places on some maps

The c4s are fine for the engineer and assault classes, but for the rest, why?

or is the argument that c4 is too good and needs a nerf? which might be true but has little to do with doors

wouldn't it make sense to take the most popular ideas from customers first

Whether you agree or disagree with customers, wouldn't it make sense to take the most popular ideas from customers, and implement those first?

“Popular” ideas from reddit involve banning players simply for being in cat eat, phycat, ether, etc. Because “no player can actually be this good!” And nerfing LB to the ground because people wanted to hate on heli pilot clans like fly ace. If you wanna kill your game listening to BBClowns that want to actively ban and harass every “hardcore” player is a good way to do it.

#

Genius bar ideas come here with that too tbf, they just get clowned on here but sometimes “popular” isn’t always the best inherently good option for the game’s health
