I can not comprehend why there is no prestige tokens or similar for permanent unlocks.
Or why camos that you unlock later are just randomly ordered with some of the most ugly skins being prestige 5, 90% of skins being prestige 3, etc.
The order of camo unlocks withint prestiges is horrible, 90% are prestige 3, prestige 5 has some horrible skins.
There is a huge gap in good camos between 1000 and 3500 gun kills.
The approach that oki wants to take for permanent unlocks with insanely ridiculous challenges to unlock something permanently (like his mentioned 1000 kills over 1000m to unlock permanent ranger on recon) is just insane.
It would mean that people would have to rely on devs deciding what tool should and what should not have a permanent unlock achievement and how ridiculous of a grind that achievment will be.
Just give people 2 prestige tokens per prestige to permanently unlock 1 weapon + 1 armor or tool.
Worrying about people getting their kit going quickly after prestige is super unfun and pointless.
Good players will be back to high level fast again.
Casual players will refuse to prestige cause it takes forever to unlock their favorite loadout.
Many players favorite weapons are accessible very late so depending on your gun preference you are just punished by the game for no reason.
People enjoying the FAL or M200 would have to pray that Oki decides that those weapons are worthy of permanent unlocks.
Refusing to provide people the tools to make their progression more enjoyable and reasonable is very unfun and it baffles me how the devs do not realize how such a simple change would make people way more willing to engage in the prestige system and look forward to unlocks.
Another alternative would be rolling EXP system like Payday, where you can stay at max level and collect exp to use for when you prestige to instantly jump up levels again.
