the problem with visual sound is you know everyone and their mother are going to use it to gain an advantage.
yeah but its still an accesibillity feature
Find a way that help them without being abusable then :d
that would be really hard
i cant come up with a way
I'm all for accessibility features but it ought to be isolated to some servers and not the entire game, this was one of the mistakes plaguing the game today.. accessibility features to help people with zero situational awarenes to enjoy the game that can't be turned off through the api making the hardcore community servers a little less hardcore, and I know for sure it didn't help them with enemy footsteps amplified, streaks showing exactly where the snipers are , and the auto spotting attachment didn't really improve their abilities to play the game, only made the players already good at the game even better.. these kinds of things raise the skill ceiling..
Then I don't think Adding a half assed feature on a pvp game is a good idea :d
I think the only way for the playing field for hearing impaired people to be fair would to get rid of the sound entirely make everyone else deaf, add a way to play music to fill in the silence. lol.
funny how I was thinking about the visualisation of sound in a way thats similar to minecraft. then thought about how its ineffective and thought about showing a highlight vignette flash on the border of the screen to show where the sound is coming from and thought about how ridiculous that would be and just straight up thought why dont they just put a vibrator on their headphones that vibrate on either side when there is a sound
I dont have a hearing disability i just wanna use this to my advantage
The devs may have a way to compound this advantage. Put a visual only such a place occurs without saying if it is a shot or a step from a player. Or subtiles as you said
in minecraft subtitles dont give much of an advantage at all, but this is way more sweaty than minecraft, but then again if everyone uses it then it wont be a problem i guess
