I often spectate my friends in vehicles / in infantry CQC, and am looking to provide "Play-by-play casting" and also POV's for montage videos
There's a few simple features I'd LOVE, and would result in higher quality content being produced
-
Persistent spectating of players
As it stands, when a player you are currently spectating dies, when they respawn, the camera is no longer locked onto them, necessitating that you once again find them and click on them. I'd love it if the camera would persistently stay focused on a single player, instead of clearing focus when they die. -
Quality of viewing when focused player is obscured by structures
Currently whilst focusing on a player (I like to do aerial / wide FOV perspectives as if taken by a drone in the air), when they enter a building or tunnel, it becomes impossible to see them, either forcing you to zoom in and fiddle with your angle / distance rapidly, or making it virtually impossible as they round corridors / climb stairs. I think this would be a bit more complex to solve, as either the rendering of objects between the player / camera needs to be transparent, or the POV is automatically adjusted by means of the camera physically interacting with the hitboxes of structures (It gets pushed inside when a player enters a building, it sticks on the roof of the current floor the player is in, it follows them up stairs as if climbing itself) -
Allowing names of players to render whilst the UI of spectator mode is hidden (by pressing F1 key)
Seeing player names on their soldier is great, as it allows me to track multiple people from a wide perspective of the battlefield. When the UI is hidden however, it is disabled, even while view-lines and team indicators are still visible. Would simply like it to persist when UI is disabled.
As it stands however, the spectator mode is incredibly impressive, and I have no other issues with it, it's robust with a very nice set of features.
Thanks!
