Projectile mechanics should not be an "opt in" play style
Gravity (or lack there of) is gravity for everyone.
its not about gravity but i dont want my c4 to fly a curve because it thinks i wanted it somewhere else. I see no reason why we should be forced to have this magnetism if we dont want it
Sure if the range is lowered to a max of 5 meters like it should have been the whole time.
I was using gravity as an example of a constant that you dont turn on and off. Magnetism, (or lack there of) is magnetism for everyone.
what is the benefit of having magnetism for everyone? if you want it have it activated and if you dont want it deactivate it?
Consistent gameplay experience. If one players projectiles behave X way, and other players projectiles behave Y way, the players ability to discern what is happening degrades. Combat legibility and "what happened to me" already struggle in bb, and, opt in mechanics further obfuscates it.
I want the magnetism behavior changed in general, but not as a toggle.
that was kinda the end goal but i thought a small step in that direction had better chances
If it turns into a toggle the c4 behavior has to be duplicated in some way to allow for a toggle to exist. I dont know how the game is structured, but I am comfortable in assuming it would take more effort to create dual behavior instead of modifying the singular existing values.
if we can get it toned down like 50% or something that would be great
using the c4 feels extremely inconsistent in buildings

Reducing the range does not remove the magnetic behavior, you might see less extreme variance but that shit would still act like glue.
a 5 meter range at maximum would mean that you would see nothing of it being bad.

I don't think you understand how little room that is.
not just in buildings but people on top of the C4
or you throwing it and its inside their gut and somehow they survive with like 90HP left
the main issue is its server sided
so what we see might be completely wrong from what the servers calculating
c4 also has a dropoff in its blast radius, unless someone is right in the center it will almost always take 2.
