Battlebit's player base has continually decreased since the early access release due to a lack of community engagement, in my opinion. Having challenges and levels to grind is insufficient at capturing an audience's attention for an extended time because it is does not incentivize community building. There are several discord servers that already hold organized game nights on the weekend that attract a lot of people that otherwise don't normally play. Having dev organized events on specified days would give people a reason to play and a reason to group up. I know that this discord server hosts game nights once a week but I think organized events with ingame announcements would be more effective. One example of another game doing this is battlecup tournaments in Dota 2. I think a similar system would have positive effects on growing the community.
#In-game events to grow the community

One other thing, this idea could be implemented into the clan system currently in the game. For example, the clans that contributed the most during the event could get a special cosmetic or title as a prize that's exclusive to the event.
devs said they would add 8v8 comp at some point
maybe they could add tourneys for that
stuff like that
Yea I heard about this, however I think most people are not interested in 8v8 comp. I was thinking more like custom 127 servers that are tracked by the devs
ye im pretty sure not alot of ppl are here for comp. if u want comp u know where to go..
I think the devs should do semi-competitive events so there is the incentive to group up, but I agree the battlebit audience leans towards the casual side
what if there were officially supported weekly gamemodes? stuff like "speed", movespeed x 1.3, reload speed x 1.3, maybe even fire rate x1.3 for one week (on one or two particular servers, not the whole game of course)
I think that's an interesting idea but not necessarily related to what I'm talking about. The problem is that most people do not feel rewarded for playing the base game - having official events with some sort of stake gives people a reason to play/group up
I want something like that one time they played the release trailer in the game. It felt so epic. I would love to see maybe certain game modes and maps be spotlighted, maybe one day there could be community map contests? An April Fools event would be great too.
I agree, early access release was when it felt like the devs were the most connected with the community. Hopefully that's the direction they're going since they've hired a new community manager
I think it was the right decision to hire one. Let's hope they do some stuff.
This guy Battlebit's, and I approve 👍
But seriously though, Battlebit Discord official game nights are a great step forward. What else I would look at expanding that concept and having a custom server along with the offical game events that persists throughout the weekend/etc. Bonus points if there is something unique about playing on that server. Maybe a preview of upcoming game modes (stretch goal), or some other modifier
increase player size per kill and reduce when dying :D
That'd be funny
lol thanks Ardeo
Yea expanding the discord game night would be a good first step. Btw thanks to everyone whos given feedback on this suggestion. It seems like most of the feedback is from casual players, curious to hear from competitive players as well
I think sooner or later they ll need to monetize the game too pay their salaries and server maintenance. I think they should create a shop for skins, the currency you would get every match, but also you could put real money into it.
This way they could do double currency weeks, change the skin rotation in the shop, they could create weekly leaderboards and you would get rewarded dependending on how you land on it and the weekly challenges could reward you with currency as well.
A casual player logs into the game, runs around for a few hours and logs off. They are not in this discord offering suggestions
. We are inherently biased by the nature of the conversations environment
100% agree, the problem is that suggestions are being put forth by the existing community, not the people who left due to the game's issues. The issue is that if community engagement is not prioritized by the devs, the suggestions are gonna continue to come from an increasingly smaller (and more casual audience).

Agree
Honestly, any ideas you all would like to see, write them down in here.
I was bummed the other day that I missed the community dev play by a couple hours. Leave the special gamemode/map up ALL day. Devs don't have to be there the whole time
Community goals that everyone works towards would be awesome. A unique unlock for everyone who participates in "get 100,000 total kills with MP7", etc. There could also be contribution tier levels. If you contribute 100 kills you get one skin/charm, 500 for an additional one. Way more interesting than the Twitch drops, which I personally will never participate in.
I think having a normal 127 conquest server where the top squad on the winning team get unique cosmetics would be a good start - there could also be custom challenges for every player that when completed reward a cosmetic. Another issue with the current game nights is that everyone is in one voice channel - this makes it difficult to coordinate or even talk to specific people
Having competitive incentives will motivate people to try to win - this will incentivize people to group up and coordinate together - this will lead to relationships that could extend outside of the game night and motivate people to play the game regularly with the people they met during the game night
as of right now there is no "reward" for coordinating during the game nights
this idea sounds fantastic imo
Another point that I think is very important is that game nights are advertised in game in the same way new updates are advertised. At this point, I feel like the devs should be prioritizing ways to directly engage with the community - discord is one way but having a banner announcement with a countdown every time people log in will attract even more people
butthurt ppl incoming if they add things for top squad n shit xd
that's fine I think people should be rewarded in a public way for investing time into the game - understandbly this game is very casual which is why I only suggested cosmetic rewards. I think there definitely should be some sort of participation reward or completion awards like mentioned earlier - I just think that right now people who play the game every day are not recognized or rewarded for their time, leading to them burning out and quitting
y'all should do seasonal events ngl, esp with the "new version" of the weekly challenges you can defo do some event exclusive skins that isnt from twitch this time
twitch is cool and all but majority of the players earning those skins somewhat don't care about the method of earning it, they just leave it on until they get the code
We actually are straying away from strictly twitch drops this year.
for future reference. We will still have a drops program, for CC’s and other reasons.
i understand the motive behind it as well since it builds traction for ppl, but then again once that event is done everyone ditches it
I feel like stuff in the lines of modes but with some twist would be nice
Have challenges tied to them, from which you can get stuff from
i'd also love to see some event exclusive cosmetics for classes ngl
like different belts, vests (that are versions of pre-existing vests), helmets, even faces
event exclusive cosmetics is a great idea imo
not just for classes but for guns and gadgets too
Yeah
we already had the usaf camo in the game, which somewhat counts in it
but the idea for it isnt emphasized and mostly we got skins for weps
i'd love to see different laser modules lmao
i love blue lasers, i'd like to see it in bbr
great idea, i think this could work for reticle colors as well
Just throwing it out there now that i recall it
Cod whenever they drop a new season or something you, they add like new guns
But you can only get those guns by grinding the pass and after the season ends, they add a new method to which you can get the guns
Maybe they can do something similar, but tied to the event challenges instead
though the problem now is the balancing
because if its only strictly an event exclusive, theres potential that newer players in the future doesnt know about it and wants to give it a try

if say the gun is semi better than majority of the popular choices, theres going to be a problem
it's okay if say, we make the weapon event exclusive BUT make it fully a part of the line-up of weapons in the future
but ofc they need to be linient on the time on when they should make it a part of the game
I think you misunderstood
What cod does is make it exclusive for a season
After it ends, you can get it in another way
Now bbr events will have challenges tied to them
Complete all of them and get the new gun
The new gun isnt event exclusive, its a pernament addition to the roster
But during the event, completing the challenges is the only way to get it
ah
After its over, you can get by leveling up or something
im not familiar with cod so yeah
but that's essentially the idea i had
somewhat similar anyway
and for the love of god can they please give us variety for the weeklys that doesnt involve tedious tasks
isnt today's weekly having 2 kills from 500m away
and 10 sledgehammer kills wtf
i don't get the liberty of having those 2 kinds of challenges mainly because it makes everything too forced
like for example, forcing youself to get 10 kills on the sledgehammer would definitely fumble the progress instead of having fun from the challenge
soryr yall imma have to ask u to take the challenge conversation to a different thread, feels like we're straying from the original point
True
It shifts the gameplay bit too much for the week
mb
Aye sure thing
but yeah, event exclusive weapon skins
to stop it from piling up, just remove the youtuber / streamer skins from public view
Yeah, i feel like having them displayed for no reason to be distracting
OH IK
Also hurts navigation when they are all displayed at once
what if
anniversary event
anniversary events would have some cool rewards that directly reference bbr's development or sm

The two holiday events on Bob's community servers from last year I think would be a good baseline for an in-game event. They weren't intrusive on the gameplay but added some extra flavor that changed the pace a bit.
Maybe something like the Christmas event with two opposing sides competing via score earned from actions in normal gameplay. With the score each individual earns for their team they'd get points that they could use to buy the associated cosmetics from the event
what were the events?
Halloween event was just a cosmetic thing where you gained corruption by dying and not getting ressed. The more corrupt you were the more like a zombie your soldier would look like. You could reduce it by reviving people I think but almost everyone who played for more than an hour or so was a zombie.
The Christmas event had two teams (Chuck versus Bob) where people who opted in to join a team would convert people into being on team chuck or team bob by killing them. The score for each team was determined by the amount of people who were converted to their team.
I don't think the halloween event had any rewards and was just for flavor. The Christmas event gave the winning team server currency based on how many they convert
