#Bring back damage buffs on Long and Heavy Barrels

Should ranger barrel get it back too?
it was nice feature, but stabil grip + heavy barrel most of times give best control of aiming, so you buff damage and... there's no alternatives
Im not sure if im being honest. The ranger damage buff was +7.50 i think and snipers arent as affected by recoil much so im not sure how to balance it out in the end.
Stabill really isn't that good on anything that isn't semi-auto, and heavy really damages your handling.
ok, just try on M4 and you get 0.9/0.9, one of best weapon in game
I'd rather they don't give extra damage, when they reach breakpoints that kill with one less bullet they are too strong, when they don't it's pointless.
Just give them some better range, maybe increase the lowest damage the weapon can reach so it's only ever good at the weapon's max range and beyond, not close quarters.
@silk cape agree with you. Increase lowest damage on high range, and increase bullet speed, instead silencers should reduce bullet speed
HB and LB gave 5% more damage
Ranger gave 10% more damage
Ah i see
No idea where you're getting these stats from. It's 1.26 V and 0.68 H. You can run tactical + se-5 for better reduction without penalties to your running speed and ads. Also the m4 really is not that good, mediocre at best.
If you were to just return HB damage increase, you would end up with the old AK74 HB bs.
You would have to nerf the AK74 and other weapons because they would simply become too strong because of one attachment
Back during end of playtests, AK74 and HB were nerfed simply because heavy barrel made the weapon that strong and that AK74 was going to end up extremely strong if it got even 0.34 damage more making it 3 shot against no armor (AK74 used to be 33 damage)
My apprehension around attachments that increase damage are.. its difficult to devalue other aspects enough to make balanced. Changing the bullet to kill/break points is something that can not be compensated for via, skill. Recoil I can generally learn to control (i mean not me personally but, conceptually
), i cant, learn to make a bullet do more damage.
Attachments are in a very strange place functionally, I feel like they are still somewhat limited by the shift in game direction. In a more arcade environment you can make the impact of attachments more dramatic vs fairly tame adjustments. Most attachments give you like 1%-5% adjustment which are hard to effectively layer together/impactfully modify the weapon
I'm for tweaking the stats of long barrel and heavy barrels to be more beneficial. But no please don't add damage on them again.
Maybe at most, something that push the fall off of the damage. Even that, it's a really good attachment if that's the case.
True
I feel like having other attachments do more significant changes to your gun would be better for the game
Right now outside of few examples, most dont do much at all
I am assuming its on the very very big pile of things for the team to sort though and decide, how do we want this to work
Probably
Well only thing i truly want is the mag rework
Its more due than grips and barrels honestly
If an attachment increases damage, the current weapon balance would have to be "re-balanced" as there would be extremely strong weapons, that were "balanced" without that attachment.
Or the damage increase has to be so minimal that it doesn't have a point to it
honestly the heavy barrel wouldnt be that bad if it didnt have movement speed debuffs
remove those and its good
long barrel needs to have more velocity than long suppressor if its going to have any use
not sure what to do for ranger tho
maybe highest ammount of velocity in game but massive muzzle flash and sound spread debuffs?
seems like a good tradeoff
they need other buffs, but not damage, just funks with balance
i agree
the ak74 would be op if the 5% damage was back
or it would need a barrel to be useful after getting nerfed, again
Attachments have their own identity crisis as of right now. Across the board they all function the same way and very few of them have their purpose. While I don't like the idea of adding the long and heavy barrel extra dmg I wish that there was something that attachments did so they would have an identty like the heavy/long.
Maybe, first shot recoil?
What do you mean
Like heavy long would reduce first shot recoil? 🤔 I don't think we have any barrel that does that.
