#Ultimax Falloff

Currently the Ultimax is in a bit of a tough spot. It used to the go-to for alot of supp players for medium-long engagements but since the RPK was introduced I feel like it's viability amd useage has decreased substantially. The M249 and RPK are probably the undisputed choice for supp players at the moment, but support suffers from a lack of diversity in its weapon selection as a whole even with the recent weapon class changes.

Currently my preferred engagement range with the Ultimax is at or past 50m mark where the rather dismal TTK is less of an issue. Support has few options for firefights at extended ranges so increasing to a 150m drop-off could create a niche for the Ultimax that distinguishes it from the RPK and makes it feel more consistent at a range where it starts to actually become competitive.

As always suggestions and comments welcome but please actually read what is being proposed before responding. 🙏

I don't think so. I think the ultimax is really good gun.
I wish it wasn't level 100 tho. Or that we'd have prestige tokens.
Also The ultimax has a bug that hasn't been corrected to my knowledge : Aka it says 1.2 draw speed, when it's more of 0.8 draw speed. (From testing).
The swap time from pistol to Ultimax is doubled for no reason(bug).

Give Ultimax long silencer a go. 🙂 It's a killing machine. And get ADS speed or Reload speed or Swap time on grip.

If bipod get a patch to attach it to surfaces or become less clunky. That'd be enough for me.

Yeah I run a few different builds on it depending on the map ect.

Ultimax is good don't get me wrong, which is why I'm not trying to propose too large of a buff to it (I've seen damage buffs floated but I don't agree it needs it). I just think it could use a relatively minor buff like 150m falloff to differentiate it from the M249 and RPK.

Most weapons in BBR are viable the problem is that some are just outperformed in their roles by other options so there's not a whole lot of reasons to pick them. I would just like to see more diversity how weapons perform. That's why most of my suggestions to weapon changes are peripheral stats and aimed at creating a weapon that feels tailored to a role rather than just being "meta" or not.

I'd honestly even be fine with 100m or so, but the BRs sort of set the standard of 150m.

the LMGs generally have the same range as the rifles they share ammo with. of course moving away from the realistic stats is what made this balance hell anyway

Its not bad but I find the RPK and M249 outperform it at most distances. There a sweet spot with the Ultimax around 70m but otherwise it feels a bit difficult to justify using it over other options.
