Please highlight every suggestion that is going to be in the next release. This way, the community won't keep adding to the suggestion that you're currently planning to implement.

There's no more roadmap, fine, but at least show us here what's captured and in the pipeline for the next release. Your current post of what's coming up next covers the big items, but many of the suggestions here are quality of life ones and small ones that make a big difference to us, the community, but won't ever be a headline in a press-release.

what's this? a good idea with a calm and reasonable explanation as to how it could benefit the community and the game as a whole?

i must be dreaming...

Won’t the community add more to it if it’s marked as being added?

Does discord allow for server admins to create tags for posts that only they can use. Because that would be perfect for this.

#

Kind of like how people right now can take a post for qol or balancing, having a dev only pipeline tag would be cool.

Every other suggestion on this channel is essentially pointless until this one gets implemented. We are effectively screaming into the void unless there is some indication that the dev team has seen it

oki priorities seem way outa wack + what you said, there's no way to tell what priorities even are

Suggestions are just that, suggestions. It is not a process of "get enough likes and its added" , its a vaguely structured chat room format. Discord doesnt serve very well as a work item management system. We aren't entitled to anything from suggestions YEP

Shockingly I did, and then I wrote my response.

#

Suggestions in general are a train wreck and I have no interest in filtering through them to see "what does oki like" thats what update patch notes are for.

willow locust

If you did, you took the most bad faith interpretation of it in order to discredit the viability of a system like this

Surely it can't be difficult for them to change the title color of a post once oki has put his "." On something which means he is acknowledging it's existence. Long update cycles and pooling update concepts directly from this area of discord unfortunately means this is where the work is getting done in the game, an extra level of organization is definitely needed.

#

If that means you have one member of the staff team that is dedicated strictly to that, it can't be unreasonable?

An extra organization of work items is, likely needed, which i am inferring is taking place during the multi week restructure that has been happening. The format of discord suggestion threads, the number of them, and the update communication process are jumbled at best. I do not believe adding a marker to individual threads will communicate very much information nor will convey it to a large enough audience.

Dedicating staff time to solely monitoring them will likely reduce the variable quality content, bumping and general chaos but it doesnt really bolster change communication in a substantial way. Sourcing ideas, feedback and discussion makes sense but I feel it should then be filtered OUT of that format into something like update notes. While we are the hardcore degenerates who see all the updates this will only inform a handful of people who actively monitor the threads.

tl;dr More visibility would be nice, the effort hours required to apply this to suggestions seems disproportionate to the communication gain.

Would agree with you if I didn't know for a fact most of the staff is already always in this section of discord and oki already does a . Mark meaning that this will probably be added to the game, the system is already in place just need to do some organization, like you said hopefully the restructuring will address the organization issues in this discord. Overall this concept is good especially if we aren't getting a real road map, nothing in the original concept seems unreasonable as clear communication and managing expectations for die hard fans.

Couldn’t mods also pin the posts. This would hopefully reduce duplicate posts while also making it easier to find. And then After it’s added they could be unpinned.

Most of you don't understand how discord's forum feature works and its apparent

#

You can only have one pinned post

#

You cannot change the color of text

#

(therefore not in titles either)

#

stop asking them to do things that are actually impossible

#

someone else mentioned custom, admin-only tags for forum posts. That also isn't a thing thats possible.

I don't think this suggestion needs to happen. Its smart of them not to be too transparent and make promises ahead of delivery. Things change in development, and giving more insight into that process tends to result in making people more mad than if they didn't.
Sure it would be nice to know which suggestions devs have looked at and are considering, but people suck and ultimately that extra layer of transparency does nothing but waste the devs time arguing with clueless people.

#

So I don't blame them if they make the conscious decision not to do something like this. Save them the fucking headache

#

You'll get what you get. They read these suggestions. If they like them, they will implement them, if it makes sense. Being impatient or demanding consideration for your desire to see into a process that doesn't involve you at all is just entitled impetuousness.

#

if you want to know what things are being implemented, then learn how to develop and apply to work for them.

Communicating with your playerbase is an unfortunate necessity in modern game development especially when using the early access business model. The only players left on the servers are the die hard ones unfortunately, keeping a clear line of communication is an essential thing they need to address and fix if they want to transition from stagnating loss into healthy growth. I respect your white knighting of the devs but you could be the best in the world and they wouldn't hire you they have no desires to grow the development team. They care about player count and also actively use this section of the discord to make major changes to the game, it being more organized only makes the game better. I hope you can understand how this is both critical and essential to this games longevity if they chose to continue on these paths.

  1. Commmunicating with playerbase is a necessity
  2. Growing the playerbase requires communication
  3. Adding a flag to show when a suggestion is being considered will make the game better
  4. These things are critical and essential to this game's longevity

Unfortunately I think you are wrong in every one of these points.
Games don't have to communicate about development at all. Valorant for example provides patch notes a day ahead of when they happen. Even still, communication about things that are being worked on and not available for players to access is NOT critical in any way for a game to grow.
Games grow and thrive by having good content and marketing. Thats about it.
Whether letting a subset of a subset of the player population know about potential additions counts as marketing is debatable I guess.

Furthermore, they do communicate about changes. Its called Patch Notes and #dev-wip.

The rest of this is just entitlement.

#

Thats really all I have to say though. I honestly think you lack any understanding or insight into how games are made and should work on that before trying to tell developers how to do their job. Really not trying to be insulting, but seriously.

This @tidal mica guy really likes to think he knows his stuff about game dev and the gaming industry and its not the case. I guess his way of making himself feel like he is, is just to be bold and aggressive with his statements, and to argue every point he can. Just because someone likes to argue does not make them factually correct with everything they say.

Almost everything Ive read from this person related to dev work is not helpful to the development of this game, and many other games that would attempt to use his word as gospel. Its very distasteful to see.

Also Deyen, since I know you wont ignore this at all, do some research on how Val was created, updated, and balanced before you make claims. Its not very hard to cross dots to figure out why the games successful, and remains that way.
