if both weapons have the same attachments: 8X, long suppressor, bipod, rangefinder and bolt E, then:
the msr has worse damage
the msr has more recoil in both axis
the msr has worse control
the msr has a slower ads time
the msr has lower running speed
the msr has a longer reload
the msr has a slower bolting time
the msr has a smaller mag size

Stats the msr beats the l96 in:
maximum zeroing distance
vehicle damage

im not sure what world this is a balanced list of pros and cons, seeing as even if you wanted vehicle damage and maximum zeroing distance you would pick the m200

#

as a bare minimum it needs to bolt and run faster than the l96 imo

I'd be OK with its slower run speed with a bigger mag if the trails were removed or significantly reduced for the MSR especially with its loud distinctive sound.

With a faster bolting speed the bipod could also have actual utility. If the m200 is long range, the l96 jack of all trades. Maybe the MSR should be better at holding down chokes and contesting dmrs?

Think they’ve been busy balancing and changing other parts of the game. Snipers don’t seem to have been balanced yet.

We need an entire rework of the sniper rifles from top to bottom

#

only l96 and m200 are viable options currently

#

the ssg69 is complete trash

#

lower velocity then dmrs???? like what

yeah idk how most of these stats were thought up

A few years of listening to people who don't know shit, fear of making them too powerful?
Instead of addressing balancing through map design.
