#Modular Vehicle Destruction please

Let us be able to disable tracks, ruin engines, break windhields, disable vehicle guns etc.
There's currently a "Our vehicles are made of paper!!!!" and "Vehicles are so broken!!" type of faction war.
If we had modular vehicle destruction, I think we could safely change vehicles to be more durable, while at the same time making skillful use of anti vehicle weaponry just as, if not more valuable.

But the most important part: We can stop people from driving off in spawn vehicles

We currently only have rear rotor blades on choppers being modular, and with Oki confirming that the spotter part of tanks will be destructable too. Would love to see that carried out to the other vehicles in greater effect too.

agree, but you should be able to fix the broken parts on any vehicle by repairing it past a certain health amount like 90%

if overall repair speed is increased greatly it might be balanced

whole jay

but how it stands currently very few people actually repair ground vehicles and making it even more difficult without much reward doesn't seem like a good idea

hmm, actually true.

# whole jay but how it stands currently very few people actually repair ground vehicles and ...

Yeah, its so frustating and feels so pointless to take the repair tool now (after they rightfully nerfed the repair exp). A tank gets a mild slap and panics and rushes back to spawn. Camera pan to me running behind the retreating vehicle with my repair tool screaming at them to let me repair...
While its a different discussion, something should really be done to spawn repairs or something to encourage vehicles to get repaired by engineers instead of playing defensively in the backline because they want to be close to spawn repair...

If we had tracks being disabled etc it would be harder to retreat to spawn due to slow vehicle which indirectly would make repair tools more valuable though.

As far as this is intresting take, this is definitely very realistic concept.
We are talking Squad/Arma level of Milsim games.
It doesn't fit in a fast paced ardacy game with a lot of C4 and RPG's.

#

For Hardcore mode, yes, very much needed thing

#

For current BBR it would just break the game, and given amount of potential damage sources would maje vehicles unplayable

heat rpg does no damage to tanks apart from tracks and from engine hits 🙏 🙏

Why those that play vehicles in BBR exactly for tier more arcady (BF style) feel wouldn't care?

wanton badge

But doesnt BF have engine disables and stuff?
I haven't played soul-less AAA FPS games for some time so I thankfully dont remember.

And most importantly, slapping on very realistic mechanics on super fast game with a lot of damage tool will create inherit dis balances in gameplay, making one side og it bad and not fun to play. If you copied Squad vehicles in to the BBR, no one would touch them, because single HEAT would be a death esentence with 127 players with c4

But... we have rotor disable already

The players numbers make a BIG difference

Oki has already confirmed that we will have Tank Spotter also be destructable

In all fairness, I just want a way to stop people from taking spawn vehicles.

Oh yeah

It is like that

#

It sucks tho and needs buffs, tail rotor that is

#

To easy to destroy, even with random lucky shots

That's EU for you

Well eventually Vehicles will have modular balance so the larger the server, the´more advantages the major vehicles have

thin relic
#

Any context?

I honestly don't think it will ruin gameplay in any way.
Its just hyperbole reaction.

If you could buff a vehicles total HP with 50% but add modular damage, it would honestly make combined arms play way more fun imo.
Ofc, C4 needs to be removed from classes/reduced the amount they can hold, but that's a change that needs to happen regardless. Devs are completely insane on their "every class should have anti-vehicle capabilities". Its just a bad, stupid take.
Hitting weak spots would reward skill, and its not like disabling an engine would disable a gun. I dont even care if vehicles can move (slowly) with a disabled engine.
Disabling tracks/wheels is a great way to stop people from stealing spawn vehicles, which is a HUGE deal, and can win/lose games.

The problem is that right now, you have tanks/LAVS playing like pussies because they get taken out so easily. Thats why we have tanks sitting in spawn zone/near spawn zone.
There is NO reason to carry a repair tool since they just run back.
This isnt about nerfing vehicles, its about enabling more varied, engaging play for vehicle users and counterplay.

#

right

#

I have some better solutions for you

#

Use squad rallies

#

Call for implementing dedicated spawn vehicles (PS2 Sundered)

#

Explore vehicle squad lock ideas

#

No reason to totally rework whole gameplay loop, that may or may not improve the expirience, just to remedy something that's with current itteration os squad spawning is a no issue
