#Give Assault Ziplines

Interesting concept... but how would you implement it ingame? do you put the end and start of the zipline manually? or do you use a tool similar to the grappling hook to set a zipline from the point where you shoot to the place you shot.
It may be worth referencing Battlefield's ziplines and how they function
One side is where you are standing. The other side is either a projected location similar to building walls currently but much further, or a gun that shoots a line out.

i already run grappling hook normally due to the straight up ability to scale things now moving across buildings or places would be fun af too
Ziplines would be gamechangers in a lot of maps and would give assault a more distinct buff to the class

Good idea tbh. The only thing I suggest is having a range cap so that players can’t just zipline the distance of to give a basic, understandable example waki bridge. Otherwise it defeats the point of vehicle use in the larger modes.
Basically how the grapple is capped with “not enough gas” after a certain point in terms of range

Having it descend after a certain distance would work. Also account for people shooting it upwards/horizontally so it isn’t “grapple but better” (maybe have it affected by gravity? Or enable for the zipline to deploy it has to be on solid ground?)
Assault doesn’t need more buffs but the idea of zip lines is awesome

dude, assault has like zero qualities differentiating it from other classes. It has faster ads and reload. Thats not much thats "unique"
Does it need to be differentiated? No. The passives alone already make it really good. And if we were to brute force something to make it unique then ziplines wouldn't thematically fit it over say, recon.
And to me its identity is that it's an all-rounder.
yes, it does. classes should have well defined roles and abilities that strongly seperate them from others

I’m not against the gadget, but I’ve also generally favored giving tools to as many classes as possible where appropriate, and reworking/buffing underperforming gadgets, like the riot shield for example
Zipline could also work for recon, as it’s basically a horizontal grapple that allows travel from point A to B, right?
thats entirely the problem. Why does every class have every tool? That blurs the lines between classes, then you end up with everyone running medic because it can do basically everything
Giving assault a unique, better gadget that allows them to do their role better, is a start at fixing that
I’m not going to derail your suggestion, as you and I both probably want to keep this related to ziplines. But TL;DR not everyone runs medic thanks to self heal changes, and more people run assault as the dedicated run and gun class nowadays due to the passives. That being said I do strongly think some of assault’s gadgets could be buffed (again, glaring at the obvious lack of enemy player collision making riot shield pointless)
I think it works for both, but personally I wouldn’t be against assault only just to test the waters, and since it alligns more with the idea of “hey let’s use this to get to the objective”, which.. yeah bbr in general needs more ways to encourage obj. play
