Currently, It's really easy to roof camp because people can just blow up stairs. Because of this, the only way to deal with roof campers is to shoot from below which is exactly what roof campers want since they are at a massive advantage. It is possible to build cover up but if someone looks into the stairwell you will get shot and die making building not very strong. The only other tactic that you can use is to use a grappling hook which also isn't strong because you can't shoot while on a hook. Basically there is no way get up to the roof camper's floor level to kill them and shooting from below is not a good strategy. The fix to this issue is just to make stairs unbreakable
#Make stairs indestructible in buildings

tell me the counter strat if it's a skill issue
Not very many buildings are indestructible; go engi and destroy all the cover.
C4
is a good way to deal with it too
Mm.. What else..
Flashbangs are annoying.
Grenades?
Tons of those.
You're just not trying.
Recon, grappling hook
95% of players forget you can cut the rope… so no danger
Be sssssneaky about it
I usually use buildables such as sandbags and place them just enough off-edge to parkour silently to the higher floors.
You can stack two sandbags and use varying levels of build completion to get the perfect height.
Which works until you’re on an objective
Are there any objective spawns that are by stairs?
Not the objectives themselves, but the spawns?
While I disagree with making stair indestructible, I recently had a game, where me and like 2 squads took the top of the very tall building in the map center and was able to keep it for the whole game.
It was very hard for enemies to get up there, there was just some guy from time to time, but we were too many. With sandbags it was a castle, even snipers from far away couldn't eliminate us.
I think some places could require a balance there.
That I don’t know, I don’t really remember where you spawn in on every objective but I’d guess it’d be close to the Center of it, Zafi A would come to mind though. I think you spawn inside the Center building which has stairs
Isle? The first things people fail to realize are they're suppose to ignore the bozos on the building and play the points.
If buildables can't be placed by stairs because they are in objective spawns, I would rather that remedied another way than restricting destruction.
Nah, I checked the map - it was River
Oh, river is another story.
I do agree, if I’m anywhere that isn’t an objective spawn, I’ll just build up but it’s intensely frustrating knowing there’s some guy up above me and I can’t get him because I’m blocked and lord knows recons don’t think ahead that far
Valley D is another one
Yeah, that is pretty ass.
Old Basra E
The lighthouse
You HAD to level the entire lighthouse which needed like 20 C4
Tbh, I wasn't really a fan of the change to restrict buildables by spawns, but I understand why it was done.
Yeah it makes sense because otherwise I’ll just build 50 hesco barriers in a row and no one can ever leave or enter again
If only there was a way to keep it, but have restrictions in place to prevent abuse.
when will we get the abilty to drop a building from the ground floor if it has destructible walls? why is health based on how many walls still remain. its hilarious to see a skeleton of the first 2-3 floors and then 4-5 are perfectly fine and the building stays.
I think under the current destruction mechanics, that might make it too easy to just flatten the entire map.
That said, if we had destruction akin to The Finals where buildings don't immediately turn to rubble, but instead tilt and fall, I would be totally down for that. Unfortunately, putting that into BattleBit would probably be a nightmare on all fronts.
having an equivalent HP on the bottom floor would make it easier yes, but its better than running up a defended building where the only way up is slow ass ropes.
What if we just made floors destructable?
I used a claymore as a trap and it broke a stairwell. I think that makes the trap better
They are in alot of places, but that would just mean its even harder to get to them because all the floors below are destroyed. and if they are too easy to destroy thats to far in that direction
grapple hook
the way to get up stairwell's besides grapple is to do jank cement barricade placement. It at least gives all classes an option, but unless going from ground floor to second floor, it leaves a support player just as exposed when supports are supposed to be safer to build with. I think that possibly giving supports something like a cement barricade slope block that cannot be built on top of and is very easy to shoot out would solve the issue of going up from above ground floor without giving supports gamebreaking fortnite tower tech
Make it require mantling to get up too so it's not too OP over grapple which requires you to holster weapon
you can also blow up the entire building so the players on top of it colapse with it too, boom no more roof camping if there's no roof to camp on
other than that, seems like ur team lacked communication skills, its so easy to just sniper them, if u have a decent sniper that can keep poping heads, the enemies usualy either all die, or eventualy get bored of constant dying to snipers and relocate somewhere elese
the problem is to blow up the entire building, you have to blow up all the walls in the building. most of the time they are also on the top floor, and over time the stairs explode. meaning you have to fight into their guns to get at the last walls to level the building.
Or do what I do: pickaxe jank.
you just use the pickaxe to make a hole that lets you reach the next floor. Takes a bit, but not super complicated and doesn’t put you far out of cover
the slowest form of climbing, into a building that likely has little to no walls and is being watched by the enemy who is floors above you?
not so useful, unless you want to be farmed by the enemy
throw some smokes to hide you or throw them to the upper floors or climb from outside using grappling hook
oh yeah thats gonna help
might help if they were on the roof, but if they are inside you'll just end up dead
not to mention placing a new one is pretty noticable
you are given every advice on how to counter this, yet you still find issues, maybe skill issue ?
advice is "make jank staircase" and "just use grapple"
but when there are counters for them you just say "skill issue"?
right
Not indestructible but make it so there are some remains to jump between. Like essentially just put holes in the stairs that make it so you can’t smoothly ascend them.
