#Combine mil-sim and regular game modes

Oki says this is impossible without upsetting either mil-simmers or casual arcade players. Let’s collectively try and prove him wrong. This way his dream of partial mil-sim and partial regular game can be reached.

#

Idea 1: Make regular arcade players like NPC’s and only able to kill each other, not mil-simmers. Can’t damage or use vehicles, like children. They don’t have mil-sim stuff like momentum, suppression effects and whatnot. Mil-simmers lose XP for killing these kids, likely prompting them to re-spawn in mil-sim mode to get revenge kill from a vehicle or something. TLDR: Arcade players play as children in mil-sim mode, unable to drive vehicles or kill mil-simmers.

I feel like it would generally be a bad idea to combine two drastically different styles of play, and as oki says its impossible to make the community happy. There will always be at least 1 vocal minority that will complain over and over again for a decision like this. Safest bet for Oki is to keep the two modes seperate, and maybe later down the line have an additional mode that fuses the two.

Quite condescending of you. So nice of you to put down your fine brandy, climb off your mountain, and try to make concessions.

Mil-simmers would just never have xp lol. After having 0 xp (especially the apc/tank players) what would be the incentive? People act like this isn't 254 pop server going on here.

So basically, you want two different modes in one server... why not just make 2 modes 2 servers?

Arcade tactics are objectively superior without mil-sim features

Just keep game as is. The milsim mechanics in base game are perfectly fine. Just literally make a mode where you actually have to milsim for milsim..... kinda just like the devs had planned... wild eh

Their tears as they get mown down by immortal milsimmers would be sweeter than any XP

Sadly i think they'd probably all stop playing very quickly

What about symbiotic relationships between teammates going for objectives

lets be honest, only the hardcore arcade players would hate this

Honestly, that still goes to zeo's point of griefing lol. I truly don't know how you'd make that work without it feeling extremely wonky and annoying for one playerbase, if not both.

Remember how casual players used to main medic to survive longer?

So, uh. You suggest to basically make milsim players (youknow, the ones who do things the right way because the stakes are high) into an unkillable gods for like majority of the playerbase?

Casuals? I mean yes. Medics would heal themselves. The update made it where you can closely heal yourself just as fast. Many people still huddle in corners with their box and don't shoot their guns for half the game though

#

I think casual is the incorrect word but I understand what you're saying

Yes the idea is flawed. I want criticism.

To let it sizzle in my brain

Not if you give em toy gun skins. Yeah this doesn’t look possible. We need a separate casual mode. Unless you let them play together without interaction which sounds bad, but if it could contribute to immersion it would be cool.

#

You don’t want to see unrealistic game in mil-sim. Objectives are fine. Seeing arcade players could be fine if they have no momentum, as long as they can’t interact with each other and you give illusion on mil-sim screen that arcade guys have momentum.

Idea 2: What if mil-sim squads were treated like “special force.” They are the only players who can cap one special “mil-sim” objective on a random location on the map. The 2 team’s mil-sim squads fight over this.

#

“Special forces” should not be able to fight with arcade players. And arcade players get illusion of momentum on mil-sim screens. So maybe mil-sim guys have whole map as “safety zone”

#

Maybe so they start in regular spawn as rest of team, they could be disguised as unkill able “civilians” until they walk into the mil-sim objective area.

#

Someone tell me why idea 2 stinks

Stop making this game a mil-sim, stop adding mil-sim things to the game

They made a milsim game for shitty pc, it failed. So they re did it more battlefield like, and it worked

#

If they re do it milsim like afterwards this is false advertisement, end of thread

Why not Arcade Gunplay/Movement and Milsim Teamplay/Vehicle Play/Features

Idea 3: Make mil-sim/hardcore mode more fun than casual mode could ever be so that all the casual players shift to mil-sim mode. Thus allowing you to abandon casual mode. Battlebit blew up because people want a FUN mil-sim, and still do. They left because the game is not done. The smaller current player base is not the same crowd from launch day on Steam who want those mil-sim aspects.
