I liked making a party (even when I was solo-ing) so that at the start of the next game, I would be assigned squad leader of a full squad.
This no longer happens (it puts me into an empty squad) as my squad is designated a "default squad", and players typically pick tactical or something else.
What I would like to see is:
Select "create party" with a 4 button toggle type setup for the different squad types, right under the "My Party" header on the social sidebar.

I'm having the same problem. I'm party leader but it puts me into some random squad instead of being my own

Either of these options would be fun, and both of them would be great. That way you CAN start as a tactical squad if you want, and later in the evening you feel like slowing down the sweat so you swap to Default from the squad menu. 👍
