I think the AAS & RAAS modes effectively address the issue in Conquest mode where the game becomes a revolving door of teams capturing points in turn.
Coupled with the current map design similar to squad, most control points do not offer sufficient defensive advantages to the side closer to them.
The sequential capture nature of AAS & RAAS requires both sides to consider both offense and defense, which may be more suitable for the current state of the game.
