When you are sprinting you currently can not hipfire, it would be nice if you could go from sprint to a walk when you press the fire button instead of it just not doing anything. would also be nice to be able to sprint into prone.

i can't tell if this is a joke or not.

lone karma
#

why would it be a joke

#

i want to go from sprint to a walking hipfire

worn stirrup
#

okay now say you can do that, right?

#

you turn the entire game into air strafing arcade hipfire servers

#

think about how abusable this is

lone karma
#

i dont think so

#

you can already hipfire while vaulting and jumping

worn stirrup
#

and throwing grenades*

lone karma
#

i dont see the issue with going from sprint to a walking hipfire

worn stirrup
#

it's a gateway into severe gameplay changes

lone karma
#

how

worn stirrup
#

think about doom or unreal

#

sprinting hipfire

lone karma
#

no i think you miss understand

#

i dont want to sprint AND hipfire

worn stirrup
#

you want to hold down shift and not think about it

lone karma
#

if you are sprinting and you press the fire button you will switch from a sprint into a walk

worn stirrup
#

i know exactly what you're saying

lone karma
#

so how is it comparable to doom or quake

worn stirrup
#

if you think the skill gap is big between people who are good at movement, now?

lone karma
#

i never complained about skillgaps

worn stirrup
#

in the hands of players who are good at movement, that would be a giant bonus

#

i don't understand how this is confusing

lone karma
#

i think its a bonus to those with faster reaction times

worn stirrup
#

yeah it definitely would be

#

too much of a bonus

#

sprinting has cons and pros

#

you're getting rid of the con

lone karma
#

the con should be louder footsteps

worn stirrup
#

footsteps are loud enough now if you actually pay attention to them

#

it's a bad suggestion

lone karma
#

i still want it

#

i disagree that it is bad

worn stirrup
#

i mean, i want bolt rifles to be left alone

#

we don't get what we want

#

this is a very abusable mechanic if it was added

lone karma
#

i do not see how stopping from a sprint to a walk is a bad mechanic

#

you can already do this with 1 extra button press

worn stirrup
#

it's a punishment for sprinting 100% of the time

#

it's a balancing mechanic for sprint

lone karma
#

this is like the only game i have ever seen have this limitation

worn stirrup
#

and you aren't even commenting on what happens after the hipfire

#

does it stay the same?

lone karma
#

then you have to press the sprint key again

#

i dont rlly care what happens after, oki can decide on that

worn stirrup
#

okay so you're at least keeping the 'press for sprint again'

lone karma
#

yeah ig, idc about it

#

as long as i can go from sprint to walking hipfire

worn stirrup
#

i'm just imagining how much more devastating i can be if i could just hipfire while zooming around

#

it doesn't seem fair or good...it seems fun, but not good

lone karma
#

when i imagine it in my head i dont imagine zooming around

worn stirrup
#

well there is your problem

#

you're not thinking about people better than you

#

no offense, it's just the truth

lone karma
#

i dont think it will cause problems

worn stirrup
#

you're just wrong ❤️

lone karma
#

i dont think so

#

you can already do what I want it just takes an extra key press

worn stirrup
#

i know it would make it far easier to bounce around levels

lone karma
#

or you just have to let go of sprint

worn stirrup
#

that 'stop' is the reason it's balanced well now

lone karma
#

what stop

worn stirrup
#

most guns are very effective hipfiring out to like 30-40m

#

the 'stop' in motion it takes to hip fire out of sprint

#

i just avoid it by tapping zoom, when i can actually plan my hipfire engagements

lone karma
#

there is no stop

#

i just tested it

#

the second you let go of sprint you can hipfire

worn stirrup
#

jesus, i'm not saying stop in movement literally....it's a stop of fluidity

#

it's an extra step in move > target > attack

lone karma
#

theres also the animation from sprinting to holding your gun forward

worn stirrup
#

if you have a high mobility play style

lone karma
#

so thats still a negative

worn stirrup
#

yeah you just don't like the idea of bullets leaving your weapon instead of the center of your screen

lone karma
#

????

#

when did i say this

#

that negative would still be there

#

its not going anywhere

worn stirrup
#

the 'holding your gun forward' part you just mentioned

#

that's part of how weapons are interacted with by player models in this game

lone karma
#

yes

#

idk why you are saying i dont like it

worn stirrup
#

this is getting very off track

lone karma
#

i never said that had to change

worn stirrup
#

gl i guess, bad idea for the record

lone karma
#

you can literally just bound prone to a button on your mouse and get the same effect

#

because when you are sprinting you have to press prone twice

#

the first press makes you stop sprinting and walk, the second will put you into prone
