Continuing on from @covert yarrow 's post about the M320 Smoke Grenade Launcher. Here are a few more changes I think should be added.

  1. Make smokes last longer.
    Currently, the smoke from the M320 lasts 15s, which is the same as the smoke grenades, regardless of color. I think this should change.
    1a. Extend the time of both the M320 smokes and the smoke grenades to at least 30 seconds, making the smokes more like a portable wall, than something you throw to revive your teammates. Smokes in many games like Squad, Counter-Strike, Battlefield, and others, the smoke serves the purpose of being portable cover in witch to restrict enemy sight, making repositioning easier. In the current state of the game, the smoke is (from what I've seen in game) just a tool used by medics to revive their teammates from cover.
    Being pinned down by an enemy in a building is extremely hard to recover from, seeing as they in most situations have significantly more cover than you. If I were to use the smokes I proposed, I would be able to smoke off the enemy and give myself and my teammates enough time to reposition and possibly even push to take the enemy position. Versus with the use of the current smokes, sure 15s is enough time to reposition, but not very far. after a short amount of time the enemy already has us in their sights. Making the smokes last longer would incentivize the use of them, and also provide another way to counterattack.

  2. Add some difference between the regular smoke grenades and the M320 Launcher.
    Currently, the only difference between the launcher and the grenades is that you can shoot the grenades much farther. Which is great, but doesn't really make people want to use it over regular smoke grenades, besides being able to also have frags to use.
    2a. One difference I propose is making the smoke time longer, which would make people actually want to use the M320, and give people good weapon to counter the enemy, in the way I explained in 1a.
    2b. You could also change the size of the smoke, which depending on the size would make the M320 a more specialized launcher, and make them either more useful for buildings, or in the open, and also change the way medics would revive teammates while using the launcher.
    2c. I believe the smoke launcher in BF2042 is chef's kiss perfect. While it may not be realistic, but I think taking some notes from them would potentially be a good idea.

  3. Add different types of grenades for the launcher to use, like a 40mm HE, bouncy nade, etc. This would add a LOT more uses to the launcher and would make it viable for all types of players. Even noobs.

A few of @covert yarrow 's points I want to reiterate are being able to use the sights of the launcher for more accurate shots, and being able to add the launcher to the bottom of a rifle.
