This is almost always the beginning of an arms race between aircrafts and infantry when you introduce things like that.
I don't think the game is lacking options to deal with helos either.
Small arms are very strong against armed little birds (which are the only real threat anyway, blackhawk miniguns shoot nerf darts in comparison)
The result of an arms race just means you push the air further away from the ground fights because they don't want to get close to each other
